Do you prefer doing your color this way or selecting out the individual colors for the shadows and highlights?

I don't think it's too easy to tell the difference, but I'd assume the other way has more vibrancy in general.

Wow, that's fabulous. Fantastic work in bringing out the colors and light source. There's something very cool and intense to the shading. And great music choice (I want to listen to more supercell now).

Are you just using default brushes as they are? You really brought out the power and all to them.

The colors came out really well over the shading too. Did you have to play with layer styles, opacity and groups or clipping masks?

i used the new default brush in photoshop cs5, they r just awesome~

i only used 3layers in this image, 1 for black&white shading, 1 for color (in color mode), and 1 for the background

hello, you can simply make a new layer on top of the black&white shading layer, and make the new layer a "color" mode
