i am Mien, and I say i am proud of that Hmong girls are dancing this. Hmong and Mien don't have country but we have a great influence from Lao and Thai. I wish we could all embrace each other because South East Asian countries are so beautiful!

@ Saffronrevo I never said that this is a HMONG dance, get it straight. But i do agree that it's not a HMONG dance. If you go back and read what i wrote you will hopefully understand that all i'm trying to say is that the credit goes to these HMONG girls. no one ever said anything about HMONG or Lao pride. And yes it does matter who choreographed the dance because not all dance are the same even if they were copied.

Well technically the song is actually Laotian- Morlam is an ancient Laotian form of singing and the song is formally from Laos-it is sung in Laotian [: after wars with Siam nearly 2.3 of the population of Laos had to leave Laos and live in the new northeastern area of thailand formally Laos. The Isan region has more Laotian speakers than the entire country of Laos its self Lol.

Laotians are great dancers, but they dance really slow cause they dance to the third beat of the song which makes it more graceful, we are dancing to the second beat i say it's in between :)

actually, we also did this same performance, for the lao new yr in colorado. we were so nervous that the laotions wouldnt like how we dance and the song we choose. but right when the song came on, i got to say they are my favorite audiences, they just strted clapping and singing and wen we got low lik in the beginning they all just scream and i'm talkin about laotion elders doing this..we felt so welcomed and respected. it was a very nice experience.
