If he gave you the the "point-by" like you said like he should have done. He still would have had to pass you every time during the straights. Did you see the distance the corvette had made up untill every time he had to slow down. It would have been more exciting that way but with that would increase risk.
What you don't realize is how much speed we lost having to slow down for him through every corner. A couple of laps and he would have been a distant spec in the M3's mirror.
Faster than what - a 1:43 lap times around Homestead? or faster than a 500-HP Corvette Z06? LOL. Yes, it doesn't look like he's going that fast - he really is that smooth. And yes, he's on the throttle all the way out of the corners.
Nice driving I must say, and not to shoot you down but if the Z06 driver had a skill level closer to yours, you would be no where near him. Nice video though
It looks like the m3 is driving in slow motion coming out of the corners. The Corvette is so much faster but that driver is no where the caliber of the driver that the M3 has. Its really sad. Im not saying that Im good driver, just that if the driver in the M3 were in almost any 300 or so hp sport sedan, he could probably hand with the Z06 driver in this race.
He looks slow because he's smooth, and he's much faster through the corners than the Z06. David is driving a 355hp M3 (a little under 300 hp to the wheel). Still, it's no match (in the straights) for the 500-hp Z06. Had the Z06 driver given us a point-by, like he's supposed to, we would have been long gone. He was actually holding us up.
Next time let's put David in the Z06 and see what he runs.

You're correct. This is a pro-racer driving my M3. But, the guy in the Z06 is no sandbag either. That's why I'll take skill over HP any day.
