I am just learning to coupon and I don't think you have to go to extremes to save money... that's way too much time... I use coupon/deal sites to find the best deals and then decide for myself what I really need. I use Idreamfrugally and thelaidbackcouponer.
Good idea with getting friends and family who dont use coupons. In Atlanta area newspapers are sold for $1 on street curbs, which is a great savings. Just make sure to check that all inserts are present before driving off. B.)
just in case this wasnt mentioned, a good tip. you should always have copies of the coupon policy. a lot of folks who work for their companies dont havent seen the coupon policy, even managers. a lot of them like to make their own policy including wags stores i heard of. (current ones check back a few months to maker sure your current) keep their policies handy with you in case you get someone who challenges. Also another tip most stores put the inserts in the papers.
As coupons become increasingly popular, so are the restrictions, e.g. no doubling, tripling, etc. I asked today for coupon policies at a local Stop & Shop and was promptly told "we don't give out that information", which makes it increasingly difficult. So many of the coupons in the $4.00 Sunday Globe are for prepared foods (Jamie Oliver would have a fit!) which I would never buy. Do take the blinkies and Catalinas and put them to good use, the items usually end up being free or close to it.
I just started couponing. I just bought one paper to see what was in it and cut out coupons on stuff that we buy all the time. The savings will be at least $60 and my paper cost $2...so already that is worth it :) Next week, multiple papers!
@yesiamasian162008...I use my internet q's, but sometimes I get squeamish about using them because some stores really have issues with them. Glad they ran yours thru for you:-)
great video! i wsih my coupons came it is own little baggie!!!!!! i have a mess of papers to go through to get to the coupons. you have some great tips for everyone! on to part two!
I love this video, this year I have turned into a couponing queen :) I get 10 papers every Sunday from the Dollar Tree when the inserts are good. I've saved over $2,000 so far this year, I can't wait to see the total at the end of the year.
@anume1109..Awesome Tamika..I'm gonna have to see if there's a dollar tree around me, I don't think so:-( Isn't it exciting to get to the register and see those totals drop because of couponing!! You are on pace to save over $10,000 this year. Keep it up girl!!
