From looking at the school and seeing that it was built in 1963 with an addition in 1970 chances are the fire alarm system in this video isnt the original system. It appears to be retrofitted sometime in the late 90s early 2000s. Either due to system upgrades or the original system crapped out and had to be replaced. My high school had the same system except the school renovated so the Integrities were installed during renovation.

@logster1203 IT depends basically on the horn strobe. The ones in this video are really loud since my high school had them also and the ones in the restrooms were really loud since they were the same exact horn strobes as the hallways have. And still are these days.

Was that the only round of the fire alarm going off during that testing? I know when I was in high school at Towson we had times the fire alarms were being tested. Where it would go off more then once during the testing. Either times they were testing the pull stations to make sure they worked. And times they had to correct a malfunction with the system.

From looking at Baltimore County schools website Potapsco opened in 1963 and an addition was added on in 1970. And the fire alarm system in this video appears to be late 90s early 2000s. So more likely that isnt the original fire alarm system. Either the original system was replaced as the result of Baltimore County modernizing fire alarm systems or the original system has seen its final days. I dont know what Potapsco's original fire alarm system was. Either bells or vibratone horns.

I dont know if Potapso High put horns in the restrooms when installing the new system but Towson did during the renovation and whoever was incharge of installing Towson Highs fire alarms was an idiot for putting horn strobes in the restrooms instead of strobes alone.

@MrWill1985 they had Simplex 9838's in my freshman sophomore building at my high school and they had the horn/strobes in the bathrooms as well except for a few instances of just remote strobes. Then I don't know what horn/strobes they had in the junior/senior building at the guym but they also had horn/strobes in the bathrooms

I can tell from looking at how the hallway in that school is I dont think thats the original fire alarm system. The school looks to be either the 50s or the 60s and the system is a late 90s early 2000s Edwards Integrity system so chances are its possible the original fire alarm system may have gone bad and had to be replaced. Or replaced due to fire code regulations. My high school I went to has the same sound with the alarms but they renovated from 97-00.

Its basically the buildings fire alarm system. Its being tested to make sure its working properly in the event of a fire. And lately testing the alarms is a requirement on an annual basis. And when testing is done during the day everyone is warned of the testing so they can ignore the alarms when they sound. I basically dislike the testing since the alarms bother my ears along with many others.

@Gb755c You are right. My high school I attended also had the EST Integrity on code 3 and it was loud. They even had horn strobes in the restrooms and they were loud when someone pulled a false alarm. I dont know about that particular school but my high school I went to had the EST integrity strobe lights in each classroom.

that is pretty much what happend when I was in high school. The fire alarms would go off and we just sit there like they were not going off. One funny story for me was I was inn class and we saw the fire trucks pulling up to do the drill and so we got outside and lined up before they went off and we got in trouble. The firemen yelled at us to go back inside and wiat till they pull the alarm. It was really funny.
