corn is a bullshit evil vegetable with no nutritional value anyway, I mean, name one thing in corn that you can't get in a far better form from some other vegetable.
@DarkOmenofLight i'll name one thing you can get from corn, better than any other vegetable, actually two: a BIG FAT GUT and BIG FAT ASS. LOL Lets all eat Doritos, Cheetos, and Corn Chips all day long. It's made from corn ,so it must be healthy! LMAO
"I'm talking about eating in moderation. Everything's fine in moderation-- ya know, like, alcohol, and lead paint chips, and mercury!" Absolutely hilarious!
Right people are not responsibility for there own mistakes and overeating we need laws and regulations from the government telling what and how much to eat.
@cortezawwris Well the problem with your statement is that is much more expensive to eat healthy for the average american and its simpler, quicker and cheaper eating a processed food with corn syrup. People should defiantly be responsible with what they eat but its a losing fight when all the products you eat have it in them. Take a PB&J, In the average american household the bread the peanut butter and the jelly have HFCS in them.
@mrblump I buy the bread, peanut butter (Skippy Naturals), and jelly without HFCS. Ketchup too. I have avoided it in almost everything. It doesn't make much price difference only time learning what products to chose. Not to mention that if HFCS makes it less possible to feel full then one might eat more but avoiding it and making other choices will make one feel more satisfied ultimately costing one less.
It's the man-made High FRUCTOSE corn syrup that is the problem. Fructose is a poison, with effects almost as damaging as ethanol, and it promotes overeating & fat storage.
This comment is corect, glucose is not bad for us, as it is very close to sucrose. Fructose causes long term confusion in the body as it is not naturally ingested in the quantities we see today. It can cause misfunctions in the liver that will cause type 2 diabetes and obesity due to decreased satisfaction when eating mainly due to the elevation of triglycerides causing an increase in leptin and glycation. However morover we should ingest less sugar overall lol, not just HFCS!
you're a moron. Fructose is a naturally occurring sugar in fruits. Yeah if you eat a lot of sugar, you're gonna be an unhealthy fatass, but it's not a poison.
@ledflyd yeah it does naturally occur in fruits and the fructose in fruit gets converted into fat because fruit used to only really bloom in the summer times so u could gain fat for the winter but now we have it all year round and we dont have the winter famine
@rast123456789 not to mention that fruit has nowhere near the amount of fructose that is found in, for example, pepsi. you'd be fine eating fruit, even the absurdly sweet varieties we have today, but chugging a gallon of pepsi a day is what's making us all fatasses. that and sitting around all day.
Fructose is naturally occurring? True. But so too is alcohol naturally-occurring and it's considered a poison for the human body. Fructose shares a near-identical chemical formula as alcohol, and metabolizes the same way (via the liver)
.

CHEMRISK - a research company hired by the Corn Refiners Association has recently taken down it's YouTube channel.
The removal was in response to negative public perception resulting from the discovery of dangerous levels of MERCURY in HIGH-FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. Apparently it has become a liability to defend the sweetener.
See one of the last remaining ChemRisk videos at CornRefinersAssoc on YouTube.
Ummm, while I don't really argue much with your point you should know that correlation does not equal causation. Saying that an increase in the use of HFCS caused the increase in obesity just because both increased at the same time is like saying that obesity is caused by the increased use of cell phones. You should probably find a scientific study to cite that makes a clear connection between HFCS and obesity.
I wasn't arguing that there was data that high fructose diets may increase risks to a number of health problems. I just thought that it would be better for this video to actually indicate studies rather than make a generalized correlation=causation statement.
I dont think that was its intent, rather to wake people up who dont yet suspect it. Those who are into nutrition most of the time have already researched this. Those who haven't need to be woken up.
Sucrose is broken down in the upper small intestine into the same fructose and glucose that's found in HFCS. The most commonly used HFCS is HFCS55 which almost the same proportions of fructose to glucose as sucrose sugar. If your body doesn't break it down you'll know it, because you'll get diarrhea and gas.
Yeah - that's fructose, not high fructose corn syrup specifically. Why aren't these same people suggesting that we stop drinking natural fruit juice, which in general contains as much if not more fructose per unit volume? Because juice isn't "processed"?
If you asked me, I would tell you to sopt manufactured fruit juice. It has ridiculous amounts of insuline spiking sugars and due to pasteurization a ton of vitamins that would be naturally in there are destroyed. If you ask me, they should do that. High sugared fruits are avoided by quite some high level athletes especially in bodybuilding and competitive martial arts due to their sugar contents.
Too much fruit juice is potentially harmful; in its natural state in fruits, fructose is in combination with fiber, which abrogates much of its potential toxicity.
Those commercials are so annoying. But I must say, people can be plump for all sorts of reasons, not just HFCS. Anywhere you can eat your fill, you're gonna find people of varying sizes.
The Corn Refiners Association are going to loose market share as people discover the truth about this product. New York Times reported on 02-19-2009 that Snapple, a major player in the beverage game just dropped High-Fructose Corn Syrup. The updated version will be made with sugar.
Reports are showing that other beverage companies nationwide are exploring the same strategy and forecasters expect this trend to continue in the months ahead.
I was referring to the philosophy of empiricism. And I don't believe I called you an empiricist either I just said it's a fallacy most used by undereducated empiricists. I was just merely stating that just because two things are correlated does not mean that one causes the other. I hope that clears up a bit of confusion.
I think they are more interested in their corn industry and their wallets than evil schemes to kill off americans and make the pharmaceutical industry twice as powerful. Not that those two things aren't going to happen as a result, just saying.
I honestly couldn't believe when I first saw the other pro HFCS commercial -- I thought I was hearing things, or watching SNL

little packaged within a package bars and mini snacks, of COURSE you will get fat. It doesn't matter that the sugar has slightly different ratios of fructose:glucose. Dumbasses just love the blame game and can't get over the fact that you just plain have to work out and eat low sugar food.

(I am arguing about the obesity issue, not the mercury issue)
"Correlation does not determine causality."
THIS IS TRUE.
If 43 grams of HFCS was replaced with 43 grams of organic evaporated cane juice in the massive amounts of soda cans Americans consume, obesity could be correlated with that instead.
You idiots know absolutely nothing about science. Do a small bit of science research instead learning select bits from articles promoting a view. If you fat idiots eat so many freaking
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
This parody is dead on, and biochemically you are correct Marybear423(Below). And now I know why I am so fat, it's because I eat and drink to much HFCS.
Instead of drinking four-20oz Cokes a day, I am just going to mix up a slurry of water, table sugar, and caffiene. I'm sure my fat will just melt away.
I am also going to live the American dream by filing a lawsuit against the corn refiners rather than taking responsibility for my actions. I can't wait to live on Lazy..err...EASY Street!
Cane sugar is actually sweeter per calorie than corn syrup. Most corn syrup is actually made from corn stalks. It is less expensive than using sucrose. It certainly doesn't taste the same, but wouldn't complaining about what the big corporations do make you a nut?
cane sugar is basically the same thing. nothing would change if HFCS was replaced with cane sugar.. unless that sugar is raw unrefined evaporated cane juice (which was never used in leading soft drinks or most foods that are expected to have a long shelf life). the only thing that would change is the price of the product. the obesity is caused by the prevalence of refined sugar (cane sugar AND HFCS); there has never been this much refined sugar in any diet in the history of civilization.
HFCS is a mix of 2 monosaccharides (glucose and fructose). Sucrose (in sugar) is a disaccharide composed of glucose and fructose linked together with a relatively weak glycosidic bond. Sucrose is broken down during digestion into fructose and glucose by the enzyme sucrase, by which the body regulates the rate of sucrose breakdown. Without this regulation mechanism, the body has less control over the rate of sugar absorption into the bloodstream.
In other words, you'll wolf down that HFCS without feeling like you're full, hence the excessive sugar intake without the body telling you you've had too much.
We're using HFCS because it is cheap to make (sugar is twice as expensive as elsewhere in the world) and cheaper to transport (liquid). HFCS is about money, and Not what's good for you. The pro-HFCS ads are total crap.
THEY ARE SOOOOOO FULL OF SHIT!! the boy, before the end, was actually speaking the truth about that crap. the girl was lying!! i should know since my family is a bunch of health freaks!!
It's a joke, they're being sarcastic. The funny part is that it's a spoof on a real commercial. Youtube "high fructose corn syrup ad," it's absolutely ridiculous.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Actually HFCS isn't the cause for anything. HFCS is a sugar and basically ALL sugars are bad for you. The reason why HFCS is blamed for everything is because it's cheap and therefore, since big businesses like keeping as much money as they can for themselves, HFCS is what they choose to put in their products. So basically unless it specifically says it doesn't anything you eat in America that is sweet has HFCS in it, which makes it hard to moderate. Moderation is the problem not the HFCS itself.
Nice parody! If you are nervous about colas and HFCS, sign up with a campaign to get cola companies to switch to beet or cane sugars at thepoint[dot]com and search for corn syrup. (can't post links on youtube)
Hopefully this helps us to start to move beyond high fructose corn syrup. I'm crossing my fingers and am trying to have a bit of faith in corporate responsibility for a change.
actually, I live in a retarded state that doesn't really care about the people. They've found Mercury in our water, and everyone still drinks it so it's fine even in not moderation.
TreeClimbingMan AKA Joey is leaving you tube because the corn industry is on his case about speaking the truth. The milk companies are also pushing him to close his you tube account. Sad, but true! You speak the truth your going to get squeezed off the Internet!
Introducing cell cultures to distilled water can often result in the lysing (bursting) of those cells due to the difference in solute gradient. Distilled water won't hurt you generally, but consumption of significant quantities can cause a deficit of electrolytes, and most minerals in your bloodstream, cells and intracellular fluid. It can also stress your kidneys and other filters in your body.
These motherfucker satanic global elite illuminati fuckers love to put poison in all of our foods. Hydrogenated oils, HFCS, Fluoride is in all the food man, it can't be avoided, tea is packed with it, I love tea, but now I shy away from it.
Well, the tea leaf happens to absorb high levels of fluoride that are highly toxic for humans. From soil and rain water. Gee, I wonder how the fuck it got there!?! Those fuckers dump that shit into our public water supply and then it is released into the environment. No wonder the animals are all becoming fucked up. Not to mention all of the prescription drugs, contraceptives, psychotropics etc... that bitches are excreting into the earths water systems. there is no such thing as global warming
I know it takes 2-3 years before you can use the leaves so homegrowning tea will take along time but to get no polluted water? does Boiling do anything about flouride?
waiting to see Nibiru, but technically global warming is caused by our evil 10th planet(Planet X) and 2012 is it's peak or closest to the sun in 3600 years (actually goes inbetween us and the moon problem is it's eight times bigger than jupiter you can see the Gravitational Problem coming besides it's a Dwarf star!
Boiling water will actually concentrate the fluoride making it far more potent. Thats why you should never boil tap water and drink it. You concentrate any and all toxins and chemicals present. Hot showers (once a luxary)are also ill advised. Its like showering in a toxic soup. Global warming is a complete hoax to get people to surrender their liberty and human dignity to the devil. It is the new world religion to replace christianty and it looks like every one loves it. Oh! Mother Earth!!
If planet x is a real deal it will probably wipe out over 2/3 of the human population and destroy all of our infrastructures and systems. I kinda believe it because governments the world over have been building underground cities for some time now. Huh? They must know something we don't.
Thumbs up if you clicked on this video because of the "O" face.

deepraine 2 years ago
I dont think that was its intent, rather to wake people up who dont yet suspect it. Those who are into nutrition most of the time have already researched this. Those who haven't need to be woken up.
Shaolos 2 years ago
Sucrose is broken down in the upper small intestine into the same fructose and glucose that's found in HFCS. The most commonly used HFCS is HFCS55 which almost the same proportions of fructose to glucose as sucrose sugar. If your body doesn't break it down you'll know it, because you'll get diarrhea and gas.
aredditor 2 years ago
Sucrose is half fructose, just like HFCS55, give 5%.
aredditor 2 years ago
Yeah - that's fructose, not high fructose corn syrup specifically. Why aren't these same people suggesting that we stop drinking natural fruit juice, which in general contains as much if not more fructose per unit volume? Because juice isn't "processed"?
justinvt 2 years ago
If you asked me, I would tell you to sopt manufactured fruit juice. It has ridiculous amounts of insuline spiking sugars and due to pasteurization a ton of vitamins that would be naturally in there are destroyed. If you ask me, they should do that. High sugared fruits are avoided by quite some high level athletes especially in bodybuilding and competitive martial arts due to their sugar contents.
Shaolos 2 years ago
Too much fruit juice is potentially harmful; in its natural state in fruits, fructose is in combination with fiber, which abrogates much of its potential toxicity.

I hope that clears up a bit of confusion.

little packaged within a package bars and mini snacks, of COURSE you will get fat.

Tidnull 3 years ago
Not quite right:
HFCS is a mix of 2 monosaccharides (glucose and fructose). Sucrose (in sugar) is a disaccharide composed of glucose and fructose linked together with a relatively weak glycosidic bond. Sucrose is broken down during digestion into fructose and glucose by the enzyme sucrase, by which the body regulates the rate of sucrose breakdown. Without this regulation mechanism, the body has less control over the rate of sugar absorption into the bloodstream.
marybear423 3 years ago 6
In other words, you'll wolf down that HFCS without feeling like you're full, hence the excessive sugar intake without the body telling you you've had too much.
We're using HFCS because it is cheap to make (sugar is twice as expensive as elsewhere in the world) and cheaper to transport (liquid). HFCS is about money, and Not what's good for you. The pro-HFCS ads are total crap.

Moderation is the problem not the HFCS itself.

slumsattack 3 years ago
Introducing cell cultures to distilled water can often result in the lysing (bursting) of those cells due to the difference in solute gradient. Distilled water won't hurt you generally, but consumption of significant quantities can cause a deficit of electrolytes, and most minerals in your bloodstream, cells and intracellular fluid. It can also stress your kidneys and other filters in your body.

Not to mention all of the prescription drugs, contraceptives, psychotropics etc... that bitches are excreting into the earths water systems. there is no such thing as global warming
lionhasalreadybe 3 years ago 2
Ah! i see
I know it takes 2-3 years before you can use the leaves so homegrowning tea will take along time but to get no polluted water? does Boiling do anything about flouride?
waiting to see Nibiru, but technically global warming is caused by our evil 10th planet(Planet X) and 2012 is it's peak or closest to the sun in 3600 years (actually goes inbetween us and the moon problem is it's eight times bigger than jupiter you can see the Gravitational Problem coming besides it's a Dwarf star!
