  • It was really cool to see Morgan Freeman receive the Cecile B. DeMille Award at GG Awards. He deserves it more than most.

  • You Germans are totally insane! What a movie!!

  • Morgan Freeman is the perfect example of a black man in all the sense of the word!!! is abysmal the difference between a black man in a nigger...jeez

  • scenes of the comparism between smart cop n asshole cop. with brilliant background music.

  • Before google and wikipedia, people would go to library with all their class and bach on the background. Like a boass.

  • in german there is a strict difference between "culture" and "civilization". civilization is the technological, social, political progress, which compass people in the society to a certain degree. so that we all can call ourselves "civilized". its things coming from outside. but "culture" is much more deeper and individualistic. its the forming of your personality in order to live the humanistic view of world. nobody can do it for you, you have to read the classics and THINK about it.

  • including beethoven, mahler and mozart, bach was on of the best composers of all times. maybe even THE best composer of all times.

  • With Beethoven and Mahlter Bach was one of the, if even not the best composer of ALL times.

  • Love this scene...the music oddly fits Freeman's character reading through Dante's Inferno.

Why do I like the movie? Well written story; Freeman's and Spacey's performances are great...set pieces amazingly well done...the only thing I do NOT like is Brad Pitt...terrible actor.

  • @rampantandroid Oh, to add in - the movie has underlying themes they follow through on - the rain, the cops not caring about the victims, etc.

  • :'(

  • Brahms suite No. 3 Became such a Brahms fan cuz of this scene

  • @joegreaser Thanks.....

  • @joegreaser Is from Johan Sebastian Bach

  • @1982Jaume I don't know what the hell I'm talking about.. thanks

  • one of the best scenes i've ever seen! love the beauty in those shots, love this film!

  • How is this music. I forgete it. Is it Schumman?

  • we got culture

yeah we got culture comin out our ass

  • This is the scene that puts Se7en in a class all it's own. The film could still be Fincher's Masterpiece.

  • what is the name of this song?

  • mills should've read the books to attain the wisdom

  • I love this scene

  • My favourite movie! (the german is hilarious hahah!) Because of David Fincher. How he creates an atmosphere!!! Fantastic acting in collaboration with a fantastic director! For example: the rainy New York City and the sunny dessert, it just blows you away! Thank you mr. Fincher!

  • @sjimbos It's set in New York? I thought it was suppose to shown as a 'everymans' city, not a specific one :P

  • @mightymarcin You could be absolutely right! A big city in the States to me as a Dutchman is automatically NYC I guess haha!!

  • @mightymarcin I believe I've read that, although filmed elsewhere, it is suppose to depict a new york styled public library.

  • Why I love the movie so much? It's probably a weird reason, but I liked seeing the passage of long periods of time *mostly* doing nothing. Waiting on the sofa for an informant, falling asleep, studying in the library for hours on end. It's peaceful.

  • LOL! i have the exact same cover for the Divine Comedy, great movie and Poem

  • I want a dark, dreary old library all to myself!

  • This movie was very cool. It`s realistic, it has good acting with 2 very good actors, and just the theme of the movie; the 7 sins and most people in society have at least one of those sins without knowing it or getting punished for it... 2 normal policemen who are just doing their jobs while having to deal with their own problems as well.

  • @RealDMraider The brilliance of this movie is the relationship between Somerset and Mills. Somerset is sick and tired; fed up with the world and ready to let it rot. Mills continues to believe that there is still good in the world, and that those people such as Jonathan Doe who murder and plunder are only "Crazy" people that can be weeded out. That's why the ending is so significant, when (*SPOILERS*) Mills gives up and unloads a fucking .45 in Doe's face. (*END SPOILERS*)

  • The first time I watched this scene was also the first time I heard Air on a G String. Beautiful song and great for studying to as well. The movie is also beautiful. Nothing recent comes close, expect perhaps Four Horsemen, but even that falls short. The director, David Fincher is a genius.

  • Classic!!!

    morgan Freeman 4ever!!!

  • Hmmm, this is a different rendition of Air than in the English version of Se7en...

    Wonder why...

  • incredible song

  • love this scene, research

  • this movie is american, morgan freeman aswell. but the movie came out in germany, too, so they translated it?! :D

  • yes. in almost every foreign movie dubbed into german, words written in different languages are either translated or subtitled.

  • yes, they are. :D

they have to think about the older germans who don't understand english, huh. ;)

btw: i love this scene & music. *_*

  • hahaha why did everyone thumbs down this its funny

  • 7 seven

  • Bach =)

  • The music is really soothing. I could fall asleep listening to that :)

    Great Movie BTW

  • Is the music by an original composer, or was it just created for the purpose of this movie? I'd really like to know, I'm a conessuier of classical music.

  • This is Air on a G string by Bach.

  • I think I heard it once in a video game. So maybe it was computer generated from a video game?

  • lol?!

  • Air on a G string by Bach.

    He's a link watch?v=WZXM2eq46_s

  • @ToastmasterJFK

If you were truly a conessuier (sic) <--I think you mean connoisseur... then you would know this song is a Bach masterpiece.

  • whats hte name of this song?

  • Bach-Air on a G string

  • I thought you were joking when you said G string, but then I saw the related video.

  • lol

  • @gianfritek to be correct, it's the AIr from Bachs Ouverture D-Dur BWV 1068. The violinist A. Wilhelmj made a transcription whith the melody on the G-string...in the film, you hear the original Bach version.

  • OK. Went back to my DVD copy. Commentary from the Production designer, Editors, & DP. This was an empty bank in Los Angeles (where the movie was shot), dressed to look like NY public-ish. Scouted from LA to SD; didn't find a library good enough. Damn, wanted to check it out.

  • I also really want to know what library this is. Maybe not NY Public? Anyone? Bueller?

  • Is this the New York Public Library?

  • I still need to see this.

  • It's on youube.

  • greeeaaat movie, in my all-time top ten list, an im a filmfreak

  • the fact that its in my top ten is because of opinion, its a huge classic flick so the rest is up to opinion, i wud rather say that if u dont like it, ur not too much of a film freak. Agreed its not the greatest murder-thriller ever but close though

  • I am a film freak. I watch everything..foreigh language..everything..

I am with Binaboms.. I actually think that Se7en is highly underrated. Years from now, critics will say that this is one of the very best crime thrillers of early 21st century cinema. It is arguably Freeman and Pitt's best work to date.

  • Don' they already call it a classic?

  • Lust Gluttony Greed Sloth Wrath

    Envy

     Pride. Or:

    I. Luxuria II. Gula, III. Avaritia, IV. Acedia, V. Ira, VI. Invidia, VII. Superbia.

  • sher schöne szene

  • what do u mean?

  • he means "beautiful scene"

why do you upload a german scene?

  • cause i only got the german retail dvd which i got from my girlfriend. she is from germany. do you like se7en? I want all you guys who comment here to say why they love this movie so much. thx

  • well i really love that movie cos

    1. it's from david fincher

    2. it's a dark, well wrought thriller with some shocking scenes

    greetings from germany^^

  • The look, and style of this film inspired the look and style of horror/thrillers/CSI-Type/Serial Murder movies/TV shows for years utilizing the bleach bypass method.

The story was epic, the thrills real, the ending haunting- namely because such a thing has and can happen. To me? This is a real horror film for that reason. It's a near-perfect film, and deserved an Academy Award.

  • @magog1138 Agreed on the perfection comment. Interesting about the bleach bypass method. Some of the scenes look normal though. Is there a particular scene you're referring to?

  • You are lucky to have a girlfriend.

    Im lonely,but I have whore movi-,horror movies =]

  • @kandiharper

he meant "very beautiful scene" = sehr schöne szene, in german =)

    i'm from germany :D

and this is a great movie!

  • does anyone have this version cos the ones i find arent the same as this!

  • what library is this?

  • @kkkaylar this is youtube, dumbass! You're not going to find anyone here that knows anything about a fucking library! hahahahahahahaha!

  • @mrbubetube uhhh, whatever?? im glad you felt the need to reply to my comment from 2 years ago...oh and after all, this video is entitled, "LIBRARY scene" and takes place in a LIBRARY.......i think you're the dumbass here xD

  • what is the name of the music playing in this scene?

  • Suite for orchestra No 3 in D major, BWV 1068- Air on the G String by Johann Sebastian Bach

  • Air on a G-String

  • I love that title.
