I think they used the same house for Abbey Grange as they did for Stoke Moran in "The Speckled Band." At least for the exterior shots because they look an awful lot alike. Anyone agree??
@iamjithu5 His expressions, intonation, mannerisms, poise, elegant style- just brilliant! I love the conversation he has with the chap about the goose in The Blue Carbuncle- that was hilarious! I prefer David Burke's Watson- as he was also funny and seemed to set Jeremy off- they played off each other with expressions and quips!
aww, Holmes was embarrassed that a woman would throw herself at him! Kinda cute:) Or maybe he's thinking, Lady, PLEASE! your man is RIGHT THERE and could kill me just as easily! ha ha!
I think she should have offed him herself. she married him. (not risk that poor man swinging for it.)
they'd be more likely to go easy on a woman acting in self-defense against a brutal husband then about a much poorer ships officer who was in love with her.
This was the first episode that Edward Hardwicke and Jeremy Brett filmed together. I must say, it is also one of the best of the series I think. Both Brett and Hardwicke were in top form. Very, very excellent. :)

Yes, this series was highly, highly commendable.
It allowed the absurdities and melodrama of the original stories to co-exist with the genius creation that Conan Doyle stumbled upon.
Jeremy Brett will always be, now, because of the high production values at the time of filming, THE Sherlock Holmes.

What is the name of this music, I beg of you. The love theme leitmotif at the end that identifies the couple?
