Well, as for the echo sound from the bass drum, I think it fits with the song and the video quality. All of those things together give the video a 1970s feel, which just adds to the groove. Very well played sir.

im getting an used drumset on sunday and some friends and i are going to do a cover of black betty...any tips for a novice drummer to help with this song?
The only truly difficult part about this song is the breakdown that comes up twice; once to kick into the sped up guitar solo part, and again at the end of it. Focus on learning those two the most.
Otherwise, just have fun. The song itself is a blast to play, especially the hi-hat/bass/snare verse parts. Something about the pattern just amuses me.
You should get video and post it as a response! I'd love to see another Black Betty cover. =D
yeah, the songs pretty simple other than when the solos kick in. the hardest part of the song is the little drum solo thing with the ride. easiest way to learn that part is to play it really slow to get the hang of that little tom thing in there and just keep speeding it up.
