  • welcome to T.O

  • people are still arguing over this xD lolz.

Hockey season is gettin closer guys!!! :D

  • great hit, thats no penalty

  • cheapest hit ive ever seen

  • redwings suck and hudler got what he deserved.

    Mike Brown is my hero!

  • go fuck yourself

  • typical ducks goonery

  • typical ducks goonery = 2007 stanley cup champs

  • Fuck it, Hudler is tight! 10 stitches, and he's back. He's my favorite. EVER!

  • that was a wicked hit man

  • thats ok mikey, wings will line u up next season so watch your ass buddy.

  • I think that since blood was drawn, the refs felt obligated to call a penalty.

However, had the hit been in the chest, shoulder, or if it were a hip check, I bet the refs would have been willing to let the play go.

  • if u find another angle (not from versus) it's out there on youtube, u'll clearly see that it was a shoulder to shoulder hit...

and anyway nobody canceled the #1 rule: keep your head up and don't admire your pass

  • @vaverachka I think the video you're refering to is quite appropriately called "Mike Brown Crushes Jiri Hudler",

Hudler's own visor cuts him from the impact with the ice. Great hit.

  • learn to count people it was 1 second.

  • So what it's just his brain in there, hockey players don't need those, apparently.

  • your an idiot

  • you're*

  • It was a bad hit. Even if the guy is has his head down which he should know better, does not give another player the right to crank him in the head, a totally dangerous play. You can kill a guy like that. He could have taken the body and rocked the guy, taking him out of the play, without potentially scrambling his brains. This is just an attempt to injure. Hockey players nowadays really have no respect for each other.

  • mm yes like ovechkin

  • How so?

  • It is his right to hit the other when his head is down. Look at what stevens did to paul kariya during the cup finals. Same type of hit and stevens wasn't thrown out of the game.

  • yeah but not 2sec after he does the pass. to late for that hit.. ugly

  • Wings fan 1:Anahiem??? Where's that??

Wings fan 2: I think it's in California somewhere.

    WF1: You mean Southern California???

    WF2:Yeah Southern California.

    WF1:Isn't that where DisneyWorld is???

WF2:No DisneyWorld is in Florida. Disneyland is in Anaheim.

    WF1: Oh ....yeah..... right.

  • was that supposed to be funny? that was fucking pathetic. great joke bro.

  • cheap hit!!!!

  • considering hudler said it wasnt cheap...

  • A 5 minute major for interference? These people need to refresh their basic math skills. That was 1, 2 and then boom!!!!!!! This is the bullshit that softens the game. Calling a major penalty on a hit to a guy with his head down!! Keep your fucking head up!!!!!!!! Didn't we all learn that in peewees? Oh what I forgot. Hudler is a Euro fag that probably wasn't introduced to checking till he came over here.

  • I think they have decided that they don't want a goon squad winning games by injuring all the other team players. I agree with the call, interference, not doubt. hit to the head, no doubt, and I don't care if his elbows were in, it is intent.

get this garbage asshole off my TV. bad enough watching pronger cross check and elbow everybody he can.

  • lolololol he threw himself into his head way after Hudler passed the puck. It was fucking pointless. If you want to hit someone, at least make it fuckin' relevant.

  • Yeah he had no reason to hit him, and it wasn't helping anyone out. Just a cheap ass hit that wasn't needed.

  • methuen96 you have no clue what your talking about that was a dirty hit

  • how so? it was clean as it gets. jiri's visor is what cut him.

  • not a clean hit

  • how so? it was about 1 second after hudler got rid of the puck. and it was all shoulder. no elbows. and the league didnt suspend him. if it was dirty, they would have suspended him. so yes, it was a clean hit.

  • 1 second my butt more like 5 u duck fan

  • I'm a Sabres fan and I counted 1 second. You obviously are a high school drop out.

  • And for the record, that was a completely clean hit. Hudler needs to stop admiring his passes.

  • Debilitating? Carnage hit? Puck was long gone? Barbaric?!?!?

Jeez, what hit were the announcers watching? Keep your damn head up, the hit was clean, the puck was probably only 1 second off his stick, and it was the visor that cut him when he hit the ice.

Ramp up the animosity? After the hit the ref is the furthest away from Brown, and the first one to get to him. There should have been Wings all over Brown, but alas, that's the North American way :)

No retaliation in game 2?? Pansies.

  • Sora, yer rite the only thing that counts in the end is what's on the scoreboard. But, hits like these play a mental role on the players. As u would see in the ducks first round selanne got leveled a couple times and was pretty cautious when approaching the puck thereafter. So big hits on a guy like hudler plays a mental game more then just barbaric behavior towards each other. But, I would think hudler had learned after his run in with Phaneuf.

  • What happened to the good ol'days when hockey was aabout scoring goals and great saves it's all about crap like this and fighting and shit. It's rediculous. He should have gotten the penalty and i've seen Krownwalls hits and he too should be penalized. This is hockey not rugby there's no need for people trying to lay people out hit them with enough force to get the guy off the puck, thats all you need.

  • What does someone named Sora know about the good old days of hockey? What are you like 12 years old? The "good old days" were full of even harder hits than this with bench clearing brawls. Someone who names themselves after a character in Kingdom Hearts has no business watching hockey anyway, Carebear

  • Hockey needs these aggresive plays! Without them people would be bored. Besides back in the good old days there weren't just hits, there were full out brawls!

  • Mrscrile, maybe u should look at kronwall's hit on carter. Broke carter's nose AND kronwall left his feet, now in the rulebook it's said that if I a player leaves his feet, it's considered charging. Are u kidding me. Kronwall has left his feet multiple times and it's only been 2 games! HIT AWAY

  • Oh come on people. You can't tell me you want hits like this to happen in this great sport. The only thing this will get you is hurt players regardless of what team they're on and bad publicity for hockey. Non-fans will just say hockey is just a boxing ring on ice. We don't need that kind of talk. This was an obvious late elbow to the head. No question. I wouldn't wish this on a Ducks player either. These are hits that end careers. Not fair to anyone.

  • still loving it after the 5th time watching. the only good red wing is one that is laid out. GO DUCKS!!!

  • Amen to that When I saw it during the game I was pissed that there was a penalty.

  • i still think it looked pretty clean. very powerful but clean. i think the visor cut juri when he got jolted from the impact, not because of an elbow. btw im a sharks fan and the ducks knocked my team out in the first round, so there'd be no reason for me to be biased towards anaheim.

  • A clean hit. The player has 1 sec. to finish his check. It looked illegal but clearly his shoulders were down.

  • Good!!! wings suck

  • CLEAN HIT!!!

  • I'd be a cry-baby too if my team sucked. xD Go wings!

  • sweet hit. shoulder to shoulder. the league suspends guys when the outcome of a hit looks ugly. if he didn't bleed there'd be no penalty!

  • bad hit not even close to stewerts hit

  • You spend your life learning to play hockey the right way, in Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Canada, you work your ass off to make it to the NHL, then you have to play Jiri, Johan, and Henrik, and Marion, and Thomas, Pavel and the Euro-rules Detroit Redwings and you have to adjust you game to play these different gay-ass euro rules. Hossa's dive in Game 2 was a disgrace and the Ducks get the penalty, Redwings shoudlnt even be in the NHL. Move them to europe where they belong.

  • rofl, you're a dumbass kid. So you're duck holding him and pulling him to the ground was a dive? you have gotten away with murder this game. you should have 3x the amount of penalties you've gotten.

  • good point you are 1 of the only people that make sence

  • I gotta say when I first saw this I thought it was a blow to the head but after watching this replay I don't see why this is was 5 and a game. He didn't get his elbow up, didn't get his stick up, looked like a clean body check that was maybe a little late. I could see a minor, or maybe a double minor, but I think the refs dropped the ball on this one.

  • If an elbow to the face followed through with the forearm is a "body check" then sure, it was a clean hit.

  • Its not an elbow to the face. What tape are you Winhg homers watching.

Hit the paus button right at the moment of contact and you'll see you're just being a homer.

  • It is an elbow. You're a retard. I'm not being a homer, the refs and announcers in game 2 are being homers... for the ducks.

  • people need to stop assuming that because his head was bleeding that it was a hit to the head. his bitch visor cut him when he hit the ground... stop listening to what the announcers said and look at the hit, not from the versus angle but from the cbc angle, u will see shoulder to shoulder contact.

  • ok if the visor is for "bitches" you stand there and let someone in the nhl take a slapshot to your face, if your so tough you should be fine right. Visors are for those that wanna, i don't know, keep their eyesight and faces intact.

  • "5 min for inteference isnt in the rule book!"

Rule 56.4 Major Penalty - The Referee, at his discretion, may assess a major

penalty, based on the degree of violence, to a player or goalkeeper

guilty of interfering with an opponent (see 56.5).

56.5 Game Misconduct Penalty When a major penalty is imposed

under this rule for a foul resulting in an injury of an opponent, a game

    misconduct shall be imposed.

  • it shouldnt have even been a interference penalty it . it was only 2 secs after he passed the puck if the play was at the boards it wouldnt have been called(like eagers hit on rypien was way later) he should have been called for hitting to the head or attemp to injury

  • MarineCpl don't call others idiot when u make a dumb post such as yours. The whole reason everyone is having this debate is because Hood didn't play with his head up which is hockey 101, he actually turns last seconds and ducks at the last second because it was already to late.

  • dirty hit, with the forearm/elbow. Doesn't matter if his pass was caught, Hudler didn't have possession of the puck, it was an illegal and dirty hit.

in2hockey21, you're an idiot. Please don't post anymore.

Forgetting about all other rules, with your logic I could make a pass from one goal to the other and I could still get hit if the puck was a foot from the other goal crease?

  • was not a dirty hit, went to run him over, was bent over and admiring his pass hence the higher contact, the penalty wasnt even a penalty, 5 min for inteference isnt in the rule book!

also, you seem to know nothing about hockey, as to that question yes, you can still be hit up after releasing the puck, whether you ice it or put it 10ft infront of you, the exact time is bit of a grey area

Not a dirty hit, refs suck and bum detroit, and the golden rule of hockey "keep your damn head up"!

  • Wings fans are such homers. There is no elbow to the head. Period. Watch the freaking tape you homer. Hit pause at the moment contact happens. Brown has both hands on his stick and the hit is shoulder to shoulder. If you are looking for the typical Wings favoritism from the NHL, at least argue that it might have been a LATE hit (maybe). It sure as hell wasnt a elbow to the head.

  • he should gwet killed. the guy tht bleeds . i love you=]

  • clean hit. with the shoulder. Hudler's pass had yet to be caught, he was eligible for contact

  • Oh yeah.... GO WINGS!

  • First of all, the hit is not dirty because of the timing, the hit was dirty because he went for the head, the puck was gone long enough for Brown to avoid the hit, where is the respect? Obviously Detroit is a team of class, instead of jumping Brown they made sure their own teammate was alright. Dirty hit, he deserves a suspension. I don't know why the league didn't give him one.

  • The little Euro boy needs to keep his head up, if he would have the game would have not even stopped. a few years ago this isn't even a penalty. Go Ducks!

  • dirty ass hit

  • yep

  • sorry guys but theres nothing wrong with that hit. It was clearly all shoulder and less than 2 seconds after the puck was gone. He cut his face open cause he smoked it on the ice. Thats just called finishing a hit and Hudler has to keep his head up instead of watching his pass. These days in the NHL injury seems to automatically mean misconduct or suspension

  • If you actually watch the video, you'll see his arms extend and his hands/forearms hit Hudler in the head, not his shoulder.

  • every hockey player knows to keep their head up after passing a puck or else.

  • exactly.. if he didnt watch his pass like that, and just kept skatin.. he coulda braced himself.. but no, it turned out to be a carnage collision..

  • final recap. brown does dirty hit. canucks cant ride luongo forever. wings will repeat.

    end of story

  • I like Mike Brown i think hes a really good defenseman with alot of speed but this hit was bullshit and completely dirty. Also Vancouver taking it? seriously... they can't ride luongo forever

  • That's not true about not being able to ride Luongo forever. Ask your mom, she'll set you straight on that.

  • @htm986 guess we saw who was right

  • this is bull shit... Brashear had a hit that was less serious than this but he still gets suspended 6 games

    wtf?!?!?!

  • cuz this hit wasnt dirty as fuck. brown was just finishing his hit. if hudler would have turned and seen him, not only would it have been less drastic, but it wouldnt cause such a commotion. it was a clean hit and its part of the game.

  • hit to the head

  • wow kind of reminds me of the stevens-kariya hit. but stevens got no penalty at all bullshit hit

  • clean hit. dumb ass shouldnt put his head down! bullshit on the 5 minute penalty call!

  • ya. clean hit. hit em right in the head which is directly against the rules + he drew blood while breaking a rule.... very clean?

  • not a head shot.. you watch the replay very closely, it was his shoulder that just rocked hudlers world.. he wont forget that.. peice of shit..

  • he will forget in a few weeks when hes holding up his back to back stanley cup.

    its duck season bitch

  • ahahaha ... ok.. wings are not gunna repeat.. vancouvers got this years cup.. eat shit and die

  • LMAO the canucks? beat the wings in playoffs?! HA id love to see it. too bad i wont

  • Yeah, they can barely stand up to the Blackhawks.. But, who cares, Detroit ain't winning shit anyway

  • hahahhahaha. dumb ass. im not saying wings are gonna repeat, cuz they probably wont, but vancouver? hahahahaha

  • love how your all laughin... just keep watchin bud.. you wont be laughin long..

  • bullshit.. less than 1 second after the pass, and hudlers head was down. clean hit. and if there was no suspension from the leauge, it couldnt have been that bad. so definatly makes me mad because i dont even think a penalty shoulda been called. and that penalty got the faggot wings a goal.. red wings being treated like the pittsburgh steelers.. refs want them to win the games

  • i hate the wings but they deserved the win after that crap. that hit was bullshit there is no reason to hit a guy like that. hits to the head need to pay severe penalties and since he's not getting suspended at least it cost the ducks a game.

  • Late hit? There was barely one second between the puck leaving Hudlers stick and contact made by Brown.

Charging? nope, he coasted into him. The only strides that were taken were to pursue Hudler while he had the puck. Brown was coasting towards Hudler while he still had the puck.

Headshot? any hit on a 5'10 guy while he's crouching will be high.

Dirty Hit? matter of opinion. Seeing as there was no suspension I guess the NHL didn't think it was

  • Sure looks like he threw a butt end into the side of his head. This is what is wrong with the NHL. Bring back the goons to keep the mediocre players like Brown in check.

  • agreed. get rid of the instigator rule too.

  • thing is, brown will get destroyed by the wings soon. bettman signed browns' injury notice when he didn't suspend him.

  • Injury notice? ...Really?

  • watch and see if ericsson don't own him like he did perry. all bettman did was put a target on his back when he didn't get suspended.

  • The fact that Brown crossed checked him in the face doesn't matter? It looked like Brown wanted to hurt him.

  • Brown isn't going to be suspended for the hit.

  • it clearly isnt his shoulder that made contact- if not his elbow, definitely he brought it up and got him with his forearm...why do all these guys cry shoulder, when it almost never is?

  • Clean hit, dipshit decided to admire his pass with a guy barreling towards him. Only shoulder, no elbow. Plus, he got cut by his visor not from the actual collision.

  • Admiring the pass is a little much... Looked to me like he was watching to make sure the pass didn't get cut down, so he'd know if he had to get back on it or not.

  • exactly. what hockey player wants to get caught out of position on a picked off pass.

  • This hit reminds me of the Scott Stevens hit on Paul Kariya. It's a clean hit and just reminds you not to get caught admiring your pass.

  • its been a while since i had a course on rules.. but can't it be considered a charge with how far/ the amount of strides he takes? he pursued hudler from pretty far out, obviously hit him eye because there was a gash beneath his eye. I dunno, i like big hits, but i just felt funny on this one

  • It is a charge if the person takes 3 strides into the player, but you can see that once brown hit the decal on the ice he stopped actively striding and just glided into him, so it's not a charge, and he was pursuing him because hudler had the puck i'd say :P the reason it looks like a head hit is bcuz hudler was skating with his head down, not because brown had his hands up too high. it might also be the visor that cut hudler. IMO.

  • interference maybe....its close. definitely not worth a suspension

  • let's all grab a racket and a birdie now. we don't want hard hitting in hockey. so we'll change the name of this to badminton!

  • From the TSN Feed it looks as though he kept the elbow down. It was still a completely uneccesary hit

  • I will say about 2 or 3 games of suspension right here, Mike Brown just smoked Jeri Hurdler

  • You people who are saying this is an elbow.... they have shown the highlight hit like 100 times, their is no way it is an elbow... Its not even a hit to the head... he got his shoulder his face hit the ice breaking his visor and cutting his face... CLEAN FUCKING HIT... all of the analysts agree... no penalty should have been given... Dirty hit?. if you've ever played one second on the ice you know, DONT WATCH YOUR FUCKIN PASS... or you get fuckin smashed, worse, fuckin red wing pussies Ducks in 6

  • all of the analysts agree? obviously you didn't listen to the intermission show where all of them said it should be two games at the least. that just shows your ignorance.

  • Ohhhh right... you were probably watching it on versus...right... where americans dont know dick about the game... nice nice... it is those faggot ass americans trying to turn hockey into the russian elite leagues with all of these new rule propositions.... I guess nobody should hit at all.. like a bunch of european faries... your a flat out fag.

  • i hate arrogant canadian hockey fans. i've never lost a game to a canadian team including Mississauga yet you all think you're the best shit to hit the ice. Please bring the cup back to your country before you talk shit. I guess your whole nation should start sucking vancouvers dick so that can happen.

  • Fuck man... how did I know you were american... fuckin pussy... put a cage on.. Why dont you compare canadian tallent to american tallent?.... its no contest... I guess we'll see at the 2010 olympics when you guys are out of the medals... Mississauga??? oooo... they're like the top of the top boy... fuckin goof

  • Lol arrogant.

  • Considering all the guys on CBC said it was a clean hit?

  • Its not arrogance... its a fact...CANADA PRODUCES BETTER HOCKEY PLAYERS then any other country in the world... PERIOD

  • yeah but canada is still gay

  • says who?! real gay?! hahaha...

  • Comming from you :D

Just because your country came up with hockey doesn't make you the best at it xD We invented Baseball and Japan and Kora kick our butts

    lol do you even play?

  • What the fuck are you talking about... you fuckin dumb hippie tree hugger... fuck I hate hippies... plus you're a woman..= shitty driver and shit hockey... you shouldn't be in this convo... Other countries have yet to dominate Canada at their own game... and when another country steps up, I expect that it will be russia... definately not the US.

  • totally agree man, the US likes to think they're good but the truth comes out in their first game

  • I'm American and I'm fine with admitting you guys are better hockey players. =D However you guys have an entire country developing players while we only spit out prospects from a select 8 -10 states or so.

  • thats true man, nothing against americans or anything its just the douches from america who live near me who are always beaking canada. ps those 8-10 states have more people in them then all of canada haha

  • Lol thats ridiculous.

  • obviously not better grammar

  • Please bring a gold medal back to your country before you talk shit.

NHL teams have players from all over the world, and many of the American teams that win the cup have a good percentage of Canadians playing on it.

btw, how many American players are up for awards this year?

  • pretty sad with all the talent u think u have u were too retarded to make ur own organization, so we had to make the NHL so u had a place to play. dont like it? go cry to a fuckin mounty

  • lol. who created the league has no relevance.

I was saying to buddy that stated American hockey players are better because American teams usually win the cup is retarded. If America takes home a gold medal that makes them the better team because it is all American players. NHL teams have a mix of Canadians, Americans and Europeans. So when an team based out in America wins, does not mean Americans are better hockey players.

  • it has ALL the relevance

  • how so? please explain.

  • Tim Thomas (Vezina), Zach Parise (Lady Byng), Bobby Ryan (Calder), Chris Chelios (Masterdon), Ryan Kesler (Selke).. and as far as I know thats all thats named.. Dude, I'm Canadian, but for the love of god, before you shoot your mouth off, dont ask things like that

  • I wasn't shooting my mouth. Americans do have great players, anyone who says otherwise is an idiot. They have a good chance at 2010. It was the comment of 'Bring the cup back to Canada before you talk shit' that set me off. Past 50 years it's almost dead even as far as American/Canadian teams winning. As far as the awards go, there is a Canadian up for every one I believe, tho the Euros will probably take the most :)

  • Psh it WAS a dirty hit. your not supposed to hit that high, it was like up by his shoulders.

How the hell are you supposed to defend that?!

but you know what, if Jiri had the puck when it happened I bet the guy would still have a couple minutes in penalty. : /

  • it was a clean hit

    he was playing it

just because he got hurt doesent mean it was a dirty hit

  • It's really hard to tell from that angle. It looks like he was lining him up with the shoulder but raised his arm up when he hit him.....causing an elbow. It's hard to tell from that angle though. I think it was an elbow though. It's rare you see someone get smoked like that and start bleeding from a clean hit. It was most likely and elbow......

  • Hudler knows if he falls down at all it's a minor, fucking pussy.

  • elbow

  • Clean hit. Hudler just was admiring his pass.

  • only a figure skating fan completely ignorant that hockey is a contact sport would find that hit dirty

  • if you count it out in a mississippi second, you cant even say the hole word between the pass and the hit... but let me get this straight... a clean hit on Hudler... Hands down that should be a suspension no questions asked... Johan Franzen DRILLS Hiller AFTER a goal, was not pushed, did not even try to avoid contact, and honestly looked like a pretty good example of a cross-check... but thats fine? Answer this for me... if you guys have a string of shitty seasons, how many people will still go?

  • motioncity, i believe 4 cups in the last 11 years calls for hockeytown to keep its name until some other team can show the same dominance. as for the hit, i dont think a suspension fits, but the puck was obviously passed there was no need to continue, it was an intent to injure and for that the penalty was correct

  • As a hockey player, you have to know where the forecheckers are especaily when your going against the flow of the play with a full head of steam. Because chances are your going full speed and the forechecker just turned of his man who made the pass and is also going full speed but in opposite directions chances are the impact will be huge. In fewer words dont watch your pass hudler.

  • no way was that dirty. If it is matched up with the game clock it is little more than a second after hudler had passed the puck. His elbow comes up after the hit. And as far as a hit to the head hudler was bent over. However brown did seem to elevate be for the hit so there is an argument for hit to the head. I feel like he shouldnt even have gotten a penalty for it.

  • Noooo, it was dirty, clearly Hudler had made the pass. Brownie should have turned off, and even if he completed the hit, the stank wasn't from the contact, it was from the elbow in the face. Shoulder fine, then it might be a 2-minute for interference. The blatant elbow to the head was the right call. Thus the reason why the Duck's didn't argue it...

  • Not even dirty..

  • hudler is just an idiot. he needs to keep his head up for once. its not brown's fault hockey is a physical game. no suspension, questionable penalty at best

  • You know what, as a Caps fan, If Brown doesn't get suspended, it's complete bullshit! Brashear got 5 games for a hit that was of the same magnitude. Expect a suspension Ducks Fans

  • The only difference was that was the second thing in that game that Brashear did to get suspended, and that he turned around and than hit the guy, Brown was going in a straight line. A hit to the head is a hit to the head and Hudler was following the play with his head, but should have been more aware of Brown coming towards him. It looked to me like he targeted the head of Hudler, whether that was his intent or not is known by Brown. Brashear is also a repeat offender that's not named Pronger

  • lol I don't even know why your in this discussion. The Brashear situation was in no way similar. I also seem to remember Marleau getting a shot against the flames in last years playoffs. Due to the fact marleau lowered his center of gravity he was hit and the head... No penalty was called. Hudler needs to learn to watch for hits. this is no penalty, just as much as this is not a kiddie sport. Brown lead with the shoulder and hudler was leaned over... ""Excuse me i cant hit you cuz your leaning""

  • lol that hit by Brashear on Betts was absolute bullshit man lol....how could you defend that?

  • how was he head hunting..so what youre telling me is if a guy's head is down you cant hit him anymore? it's hockey. not basketball. its hudlers fault for not following the first rule you learn KEEP YOUR HEAD UP

  • How is watching the breakout keeping your head down? He was following the play, not "Admiring his pass" as Carlyle so eloquently put it. I am not saying it was a late hit, or an elbow, it was a hit to the head, which is why the penalty, was called, and why a suspension could be issued.

  • You know what... it was under 3 seconds and it was not an elbow... the ONE thing that matters is that it WAS a hit to the head and OBVIOUSLY that is illegal. Honestly it would have been a clean hit IF Brown would of hit him anywhere but the head, it just happens to be that he DID hit Hudler in the head.

  • 1 not a late hit

2 when the guys says the puck is long gone it is in slow mo fyi

3 his elbow was down and hi visor cut him

    and

4 if he gets suspended it is total bullshit

  • It was not a late hit, and there was no elbow. I changed the description after watching the CBC feed again. What makes this hit dirty, and suspendable, is the fact that Brown went for his head. You are simply not allowed to drive your shoulder into a guy's head like that. I do agree that it was not a late hit, but I do sense a suspension.

  • the hit was LATE! the puck was nowhere near him. it was on the other blue line when he got hit! Though it wasn't an elbow, it was still a cheap blindsided hit. He deserves his penalty and suspension if he gets one b/c it was an intent to injure. Red Wings are going to beat Anaheim anyways!

  • It was not a late hit. They only show you the replays in slow motion, never real speed. It's a slower timeframe, which therefore provides the illusion of a late hit. It was a legal hit. It was only illegal because Brown hit him in the head. Otherwise, the hit was clean. No elbow, and no late hit.

  • haha must be a ducks fan..better luck next year

  • clean hit, idiot had his head down took a nice beauty of a check (top ten for sure hudler needs to go to his bench and tell his coach he got jackkkked uppp)...but i understand he has a ducks jersey on so anything they do is dirty and its a must to protect the red wings from any contact in this CONTACT sport they play

  • if you pause this at 34 seconds you can see he throws his shoulder to hit the guy, but ends up also getting him with part of his arm

plus he WASNT head hunting, watch how hes going down the ice then turns to hit him about 2 seconds before the actual hit
