I love this beautiful French song of J. Brel. It is sad, I always have tears when I listen to it...I watched all of my "old folks" go away forever one by one, leaving me alone, with pain in my heart and head full of memories.
Thank you. I am sorry for your loss. This is a song from a musical that my dad would always listen to when I was young. I never really "got it". I did this video when my father -in-law passed away. It was the only thing to keep me sane. The irony is that my dad passed away about the same time. However, my dad died young and my father-in-law died old. It was such a blessing to loose my dad quickly. My dad would say, I'd rather die 10 years too soon than 1 year too late.
This is an absolute masterpiece. As one who's cared for and watched an aging parent pass on, it captures this under-attended part of life so poignantly..
Thank you for this wonderful warm and heart felt video . I alway have a tears in my eyes when i hear this very beautiful song ..... at my age it can come for me at anytime ..... at any age it is too soon .......
Does anyone know the name of the painting or the name of the painter of the picture of the dogs trying to wake their master?

sorry I don't. I grabbed it off the Internet while brainlessly looking at page after page of pictures.
