This tune is the perfect finale to the perfect album. In my opinion, "Ziggie Stardust" was one of THE best rock albums ever made. It was -- and remains --hugely influential. At a time when rock was floundering, David Bowie gave pop music a new direction. Sheer genius!

The first time I ever heard this song was back in '73. I walked into the house of rock 'n' roll band near where I lived at time, and the roadie for the band was playing side two of the 'Ziggy' album on the stereo. This same roadie, years later, would eventually work for Bowie; and, sadly, would commit suicide not too long ago.
