I visited this Lavra many years ago---and it's absolutely Heaven on Earth! I am Catholic and I wish our services were as beautiful and awe-inspiring as this! Vechnaya Pamyat, Vladika Laurus.
I am a Muslim but have always loved the beauty of Russian/Slavic Orthodox music. It sends s shiver down my spine. I suggest as a Catholic to perhaps attend a Ukrainian Catholic service. They are essentially Orthodox in practice, but are in union with Rome. Their services and music are also the same as the Ukrainian/Russian Orthodox. Also if u love the wonder of Russian Orthodox music, then look for the Stretensky Choir... AMAZING and spine-tingling!! All the best.
First, its not Laurus, but Vladika Laurus. Second, I don't see how its Christian to trash the dead. Third, perhaps you could attempt to grow up + learn to disagree without being ugly + nasty. My 10 year old has better manners than that. Finally, people who don't know the facts shouldn't discuss things they obviously understand nothing about. I disagree with the reunification and LOVE Vladika, I also have no intentions of divorcing my husband every time we disagree. Again I say grow up! XB
Laurus sued the convent on Moss Island for their property, when the latter refused to join him in the MP. Some "Christian" Laurus was. Canon 3 of the 7th Ecumenical council forbids the appointments of bishops by the civil authorities. And the same canon condemns those in communion with such an entity. The MP is in violation of this canon, as are those in communion with it.
Tch, no respect for the dead! If he was so horrible, why dont you try praying for him instead of condemning him? No, easier for you to pass judgement- now THATS Christian, isnt it?
