@LiquorWreckedEmGood The tone involved is hugely dependent on the pickups you're using. I won't deny that the type of wood used in the body/fretboard makes a slight difference, but when it comes down to it, if it feels good to play, drop whatever pickups you think sound best in there and fly at 'er. You'll have better results with a guitar that you can play comfortably than one that everyone else says has better tone.

Well, I don't think you can duplicate a Gibson Les Paul tone just by dropping new pickups in an Ibanez. All I am saying is that an Ibanez sounds like a kazoo.

n Ernie Ball JP6 has the best neck you'll find anywhere and sounds a whole lot better. A Jackson Sl1 or SL2H has nearly as good a neck as a JP6 and sounds 1000 times better than an Ibanez, Prestige model or not. Plus you get an ebony board.

I also love the sound of a Les Paul (one of my favorite guitars,) but really it all comes down to what you like. In other words, I may would prefer an Ibanez over an Ernie Ball.
