  • Just my 2 cents

I've been using SolidWorks for roughly 14+ years. It's a fantastic design software package. But from my experience in using it in a machine shop, its kind of a time and resource waster in detailing the threads [on anything]. That being said, I have to say that there are times when it IS needed- i.e. marketing and compatibility documentation. But on the floor in a machine shop, hole callouts work just fine. But it's still good practice to learn it, just in case.

  • Creo Parametric is easier to use, faster and cheaper ...

  • I'm just a noob here, so please excuse the ignorance, but why not just use hole wizard to make the hole, threads and chamfer?

  • threading everything are fine but the nut profile is wrong, take wireframe projectional views of this nut and compare it to a Standard Nut Drawing.. this one is wrong... we have to project the hexagon first and then revolve a triangle around the vertex of the nut.. the angle the triangle makes with the axis should be 60 deg...

  • Song name?

  • A person can't see what you're doing............ and you chose to play music instead an explanation of your actions. What was the point of this video?

2/10 for effort, must try harder.

  • ONE of thed best tutorial

  • @solidworkstutoriaify

Did you get paid to write that?

  • @ch3st3rd

No i am not paid..its kind of offensive to hear that from who can't figure out how to see the video in high quality in youtube. may be you should learn how to use youtube. This is what you get for free.

  • @solidworkstutoriaify

I've been using Solidworks for 10 years and have taught a lot of people how to use this software. Never, I repeat Never have I sat down and talked through a problem with someone without telling them what I am doing, let alone had music playing in their ears.

How you can say this tutorial is the best baffles me.

  • @ch3st3rd

dude you need to change the resolution to 720 then you can see very clearly what he is doing, though it as a but fast... At first even i was confused. but this is the only tutorial on youtube that shows properly how to make a nut...

  • @tailender1

I know how to draw a nut. The guy who made this video knows how to draw a nut....... But tell me in all honesy, do you think this video is a good example of a solidworks tutorial?

  • @ch3st3rd

if you think it is not, then send me a link to 1 that is better than this!!! i will agree with you.. of course i don't agree that no voice / dictation makes it bad.

  • no sooooooouuuunndd =/
