you guys are really good!! your tutorials are really really helpful as it provides a huge amount of information. The main thing is your presentation and that is absolutely brilliant and very helpful. I have never been to a film school, i learnt mostly by watching movies closely, reading books and following tutorials like these!!! Really you dont need to go to a school to learn!! You only need a good tutor!!
@REELOnlineFilmSchool Well i went to my menu on my canon and i looked through the list and i couldnt find anything about focusing. the only thing in the menu is 1.digital zoom 2.AF-assist beam 3.disp.overlay 4.IS mode 5.mute 6.volume 7.start-up image 8.format 9.file numbering And thats mostly it a went and checked every one of those.
@EmmieRZ - I think "AF" might stand for Auto Focus. If you go into that option you'll probably given the option of turning it off, and if you do, will be given the controls to focus manually.
Great Tutorials!, I learned alot about how to get the most out of my camera thanks to you guys. I just had a couple questions: I notice you guys have a Sony Z1. Where did you aquire that at, and how much are they? Also, I was wondering if you guys were ever going to do things such as stunt and makeup tutorials? thanks.
This is immensely helpful. I'm aspiring to become a director/editor eventually and I'm starting to shoot my AS-Film studies piece next week; so It's great to back track a bit and learn the basics once again. This has come in extremely helpful for me. Thank you! Subscribed!
Im glad we've been of some help, its great to hear about your film studies, when it's finished post it on reel deal in a response to a video; we'd love to see it :D
I guess Flash cards produce a higher definition of picture than MiniDv. But it's the old argument "it's the painter not the paintbrush". You could be shooting on 35mm film but if you didn't know what you were doing it'd still look rubbish. Most young filmmakers make the mistake of ignoring technical quality, like sound and lighting. As long as you master the basics and shoot footage properly, chances are your work will be 100 times better than the majority of filmmakers out there :D
Hey thank you so much I really learned alot from this you are the best Film teacher that I have ever seen on youtube out of all the film tutorials on here this is the best one thank you! I hope ou will make more in the future.
And what about writing it in miniDVD or in memory card, like in DSLR? (I talk about quality)

How do you feel about the flash-based HD cameras?
Bertziethegreat 2 years ago
In what sense? Do we rate them?
REELOnlineFilmSchool 2 years ago
Well, do you think they would be as good as the miniDV cameras, in the sense of video quality?
