1983? This would be around when the 9-1-1 system was just becoming more available right? Did Cody have an enhanced 911 where the information automatically comes up on the screen?
allgood this video pissed me off, and made me damn sad. I live in Cody WY, we don't see no murders here today. I've not seen a murder in Thermopolis or Cody in last 6 years since I been here back home, but I did see two murders in Seattle one I went to court and testified for. I was served a subpoena to testify which I did.
Now I'm glad I moved home
I saw 2 murders, got shot at twice, and I moved my ass out of WA state ASAP
Well, this was back in 1983. Crimes like these aren't at as common in Cody, Wyoming, which is why this was re-enacted for this television program, since the people of that community wanted to re-enact it so we all would know that no matter where we live, we will never have a crime-free place to live. I'm sure those who've lived there for years and years can mention about it.
the person killed was just an average guy sitting at the bar.... I went to school with the son of the judged that sent them all to prison.... and the dollar is still open... stop in and have a burger there sometime...
i knows this awesome police officer Rick Dutcher he is the SRO for Our high school in wyoming hes the best there is. one of the kindest officers you will find out there.
@allgood -- first, thanks so much for these playlists! They're great. I thought you would want to know tho that the second half of this segment comes up before this first half, which sort of spoils the segment Hope you can switch them.
Officer Greg L. here: About a month ago, some idiots shot at my cruiser during a routine traffic stop.
It was night. They put something out the window as I followed them, and I thought they were trying to dump paraphernalia. Then they suddenly opened fire on my cruiser, and I couldn't return it b/c of so many people being around the area.
I have no tolerance for suspects who act that way. They were some mighty unhappy dudes when I finally took them into custody.
I'm sure that they didn't want to leave the cruiser just sitting on the side of the road. They had to continue on because I'm guessing that in a small town like that they only have maybe 2 or 3 officers on duty at that hour.
Once, we arrived at a bar call where a large crowd of people were milling around the patient. There were no police at that point, and it started to get rowdy around us.
Then one guy says, apparently to someone standing near him: "What are YOU talking about? You better shut up, or you're gonna need their services next."
I decided to load and go right then. I had to tell people to kindly move out of our way just to get through the crowd.
I don't like arriving on the scene of a bar call. It's almost always loaded with potential danger to us rescue workers, and I feel like I'm working beside a high-tension wire that's about to give me a nasty shock.
I like helping people, though, so I do it without complaining.
when I first read the description about "Baltimore cops" I thought there'll be a shooting like this segment but it isn't shown it just shows a dead victim not a shooting as in this segment.
I think so. I went to Cody in 2005 and it was still open, but I couldn't go in because I was 19 and you had to be 21. It looked exactly the same on the outside, except the door was metal instead of glass.
I'm not sure I'd like to go to wyoming- I mean I'm sure it's beautiful and all, but the entire state's population is smaller than my town's population (and I live in Arkansas!!)
Well, to be fair, I haven't been out there. I'd actually like to go. I'd actually like to hunt bear or elk out there, and I'm apparently not lucky enough to get a permit to do so in the Ozark Mountain range. So yeah- I'll eventually be out there, and I'll probably love it.
Thanks for watching the skys- I'm a spotter as well!
I would like it if some channel on local television would air these reruns of Rescue 911.
I've been to Cody, Wyoming just east of Yellowstone National Park. It's not that big of a town. When I first saw this episode and saw this happen, I was shocked.
I went there after I saw this episode. I tried to go to the Silver Dollar but I was only 20 at the time and you had to be 21 to go inside. The door is now metal instead of glass, I wonder if it was because of this incident.
how do the people involved in this story submit a 1983 bar shooting and send it to the t.v. series RESCUE 911, because Rescue 9-1-1- aired in April, 18, 1989.
Rescue 911 researchers probably found out about the incident in 1990 and decided to re-enact it. It's also possible that someone from Cody submitted the story to Rescue 911.
Forget the snowgirl episode
This is the scariest episode of rescue 911 ever!!!!!
