Those are funny lyrics. At least the songwriters of that era seemed to maintain a sense of humor in spite of the absurdities of prohibition. There were a lot of great songs that were commentaries on prohibition. A couple that come to mind are "I'll See You In Cuba" and "Hello Montreal."
@bsgs98 Yes, there were a few more interesting ones like ... Every One Wants a Key To My Cellar" ( to post later) ... thanks for all you do to bring back the significant tunes of our past...
This is an outstanding Confrey arrangement! I swear Confrey was a genius on his early QRS rolls like this one!!! Good novelty piano playing is not just about the tricks, it's about using them creatively and with taste, and that's precisely why this roll is so excellent - it's really tasty, and a bit unexpected too!
Confrey was apparently such a perfectionist that QRS released two different versions of his roll of "Sheik of Araby" although apparently the boxes and labels look identical!
I agree. Thanks ! It all plays into the mix. You have to have the talent, then the "tricks" mean something. I think I had both versions of Sheik at one time, but I sold one. I am not sure which one they used for the recuts. I will post that later. Also reminds me of Wendlings Dirty Hands, Dirty Face. Two identical roll numbers and boxes for that matter, but one roll was credited to Wendling, one to Kortlander, but two distinct arrangements.

I love how Confrey quotes W. C. Handy's "Ole Miss Rag" right before the chorus kicks in!
