I agree with what everyone is saying; the Lumen arc was go-nowhere and she had nothing on Rita, but I can see her purpose. It wasn't about Lumen. It was about Dexter getting better. Obviously, Rita's death was hard and he didn't know how to handle it. Usually when he can't handle a social situation, it's because of his dark qualities, but this time was different. He was finally having a human reaction to loss. He needed help and that's what Lumen's purpose was. She was his "transitional" woman.

A useless overacting rape victim played by Julia Stiles who leaves as quick as she was introduced, which renders her character and most of Season 5 entirely pointless. How nice... So I was hoping that something really fresh and new would come out of Rita's death. And season 5 was all about the quest for Dexter to find a connection with someone. . .Just like in Season 1,2, and 3.

At least make it seem natural instead of so forced. Besides we already saw what happened in Season 3 when Dexter wanted a killer friend/sidekick. Why do a similar story-line again?

You know what i wanted from Season 5? "Dexter: On The Run": Rita's murder was pinned on Dexter, now he has to escape from Miami while being chased by the police force, FBI, his own sister, etc. THAT could've been a cool (final?) season and basis for lots of new locals, stories and interactions for Dexter.

Not sure where they'll go now.

Try this on for size--It appears that Dexter arrives home, simple enough and then goes through the phone thing and then heads for the bathroom. It appears to me that the scene then looks like a DREAM like when the father talks with Dex. She isn't killed. Trinnity had a VERY narrow and lucky window of opportunity to find her home. How he had the time is ASSUMED but not clear. Good writers can do such things.

I had a love hate relationship with Rita, I'd like her one episode then not be too keen the next. I clued in when she didn't call nagging about where he was. I feel really bad about what happened but I'm curious if they will do the mind thing like Harry and what will happen with the kids-- how Harrison will be affected.

Incredible video. I liked Rita, and felt she was the glue holding Dexter together. Say what you want about him, but he was an excellent father and husband. Rita, I'll miss you most of all.

So shocked because no one saw it really coming. We all knew Dexter would finally get Arthur because at the end of every season finale he killed his enemy of the season. But we didn't see the enemy of Dexter killing or hurting Dexter's family.I'll miss Rita. She was a huge part of the show. Now Dexter's lifestyle and personality will completely change. he will have to raise 3 young kids on his own, 2 of which aren't even biologically his. He'll to complete transition his life, less side-tracking.

Lila was, in a way, a better match for Dex. Unfortunately she was so unstable that she would have eventually gotten him caught. Rita, on the other hand, in the first 2 seasons was very good for him but it seems, in season 3, that she has very little respect or consideration for him or his job. She's not working this season so why doesn't she stay up with the baby then sleep while the kids are at school?

Its actually surprising how many people hate Lila, considering she is part of that exclusive club of people who really know who Dexter is. She got closer to Dexter than Rita probably ever will.
She also tried to murder Rita's children, that's pretty unforgivable. She was also way too nonchalant about Dexter being a murderer. She may have known Dexter killer, which Rita didn't, but Rita knew Dexter the person better than Lila.
Rita reminds me of one of the characters in a Japanese video game when she first opens the door at the start of this video; Princess Zelda to be exact. That perfect smile and the little blink while holding the smile. She has such a classic beauty about her. Oh by the way excellent synchronization between video footage and song lyrics. 5 STARS

Also I feel its so way below Dexter to have an affair. He should have been able to exercise more self control being Dexter. If you can keep from killing just anyone you want when you're a serial killer, you should certainly be able to keep your dick in your pants.

I had a love hate relationship with Rita, I'd like her one episode then not be too keen the next. I clued in when she didn't call nagging about where he was. I feel really bad about what happened but I'm curious if they will do the mind thing like Harry and what will happen with the kids-- how Harrison will be affected.
Soooo sad :( it makes me like this video even more. I've watched it a few times in the past, now its all nostalgic.

Incredible video. I liked Rita, and felt she was the glue holding Dexter together. Say what you want about him, but he was an excellent father and husband. Rita, I'll miss you most of all.
I think Rita will appear to him in his mind, similar to how Harry does.

So shocked because no one saw it really coming. We all knew Dexter would finally get Arthur because at the end of every season finale he killed his enemy of the season. But we didn't see the enemy of Dexter killing or hurting Dexter's family.I'll miss Rita. She was a huge part of the show. Now Dexter's lifestyle and personality will completely change. he will have to raise 3 young kids on his own, 2 of which aren't even biologically his. He'll to complete transition his life, less side-tracking.

I am still so sad about the ending of Dexter. I know it's only on tv but I've never been so upset over a television show! The first shot of this video of Rita is sad :[ It will be sad to go back and watch past episodes now. Too bad Rita didn't kill Arthur instead. The creepiest part of the ending was what was left to the imagination- the Trinity character seriously creeped me out!

Yea i knew it would happen too, because the last moment when they are talking and kissing and then making out, it made it soooooo obvious. and the fact that so many people complain about rita and her acting, i knew the writers would eventually write her out

I understand why Dexter killed Lila, because she tried to kill Rita's kids he's said so in the very first episode. He could never harm a child.

Lila was, in a way, a better match for Dex. Unfortunately she was so unstable that she would have eventually gotten him caught. Rita, on the other hand, in the first 2 seasons was very good for him but it seems, in season 3, that she has very little respect or consideration for him or his job. She's not working this season so why doesn't she stay up with the baby then sleep while the kids are at school?

Its actually surprising how many people hate Lila, considering she is part of that exclusive club of people who really know who Dexter is. She got closer to Dexter than Rita probably ever will.

She also tried to murder Rita's children, that's pretty unforgivable. She was also way too nonchalant about Dexter being a murderer. She may have known Dexter killer, which Rita didn't, but Rita knew Dexter the person better than Lila.

Rita reminds me of one of the characters in a Japanese video game when she first opens the door at the start of this video; Princess Zelda to be exact. That perfect smile and the little blink while holding the smile. She has such a classic beauty about her. Oh by the way excellent synchronization between video footage and song lyrics. 5 STARS

I hate Lila too. She was a raunchy psychotic whore who spent half a season just trying to get in Dexter's pants.
Also I feel its so way below Dexter to have an affair. He should have been able to exercise more self control being Dexter. If you can keep from killing just anyone you want when you're a serial killer, you should certainly be able to keep your dick in your pants.
Kind of disappointed me that the writers even had Lila in season 2. But then again the idiotic masses needed that.
