Was forced out of my government job 4 years ago and have been unsuccessfully self employed. Bipolar and never able to get an unemployment or welfare check. Eat once a day, bills piling up and gas shut off yesterday for 2nd time. Don't know what to do anymore. Can't sleep either. People don't hire 50 year olds like me. Dog doesn't understand why he needs to be hungry. Life sucking, six feet under looking better all the time.
In the USA, the cutbacks of temporary workers mean the labor market is in much worse shape than the headline 8.5 percent jobless figure for March would suggest.
Throw in part-timers who would like to work more and unemployed workers who have given up their job search, and you come up with a jobless rate closer to 15.6 percent, according to one measure buried in the Bureau of Labor Statistics' monthly Employment Situation report.
omg unemployment benefits are retarded and keep people from being productive...my roomate is planning on building a new gaming pc with his unemployment checks...why not, they dont ask anything of him...no oversight at all...unemployment benefits are turning americans into potatoes.
Most government plans end up being abused. Social security? You have illegal immigrants who are in their 40s becoming citizens, and collecting SS benefits as if they had been putting money into social security their entire life. Welfare? Goes without saying. What was intended to be a stepping stone to help people in-between jobs becomes a long term mooching aid.
We seriously need to stop all of these government programs and cut the big government.
Try doing the search internationally, the US has massively more searches on "unemployment benefits", on the other hand there are more people on the internet in the US than in other English speaking countries which have unemployment benefits, so...
