the bank example - is different, as in order to have helped you avoid that rule that system works to, someone else would have had to lose their job (or put themselves on the line) - then you'd probably lose your house later again anyway,
the system itself - is wrong, cause housing should be done differently all along, sustainable and no and low impact. homes are not investments.

If you like Shopenhauer you may like Mencken as well.
As for hate I suspect he was able to reflect upon it dispassionately and intellectually as part of the mechanism he called the will to live...though understanding of it he was still adversely affected by the habits of the mob.
I suspect Shopenehauer would be labeled "ADD" today,which is marked by easy distractability(an effect of lower dopamine levels).
I can **perfectly** relate to his feeling on it.

hmm... I sorta disagree. I looked at it more in that Schopenhauer feels he intellegent regardless of the competitive society around him. That he believes intelligence is not leverage over the cognitive abilities of another, but cognition in itself. I assumed that he hates ignorant people because of their inability to think rationally despite his voluntary disinvolvment of putting himself over as mentioned before that someone might do. I can relate perfectly to both actually...

Noise is a great tool for behaviorist standardization and operant conditioning. Especially with this uncontrolled infestation of ghetto culture streaming past my car daily, I would say the re-emergence of Sodom and Gomorrah is not a pleasant place to exist in.
