  • The G10 sounds like the one for me, good picture for the price tag

  • Best Review. thank for this Review Clips

  • Thanks for this report.

I live in Ireland, haven't yet been to a retailer as I'm trying to see what online deals are going. I cannot find a TC P50V10 at all here, only TX!! Does anybody know if the TC model and THX are restricted to the U.S?

    Thanks in advance x

  • Thanks for the report...

  • why can't they just make one with everything?

  • i know a panasonic dealer. and he say the g10 is better than the v10

  • Just bought a G10. 42". Worried about the reported problem with the black levels. But a price of $750 helps me hope for a firmware update in the future.

  • I know someone who wants the V10.

    Only they've sold out!!

  • correction, most people would not notice the difference in pic qualltiy . the g10 tested slightly better in gamma and brightness. while colors were virtually the same. both tvs tested poorly when tested to the extreme with motion lag. causing some artifacting. mainly before break-in period. (usallally around 75 to 100 hours on pannys) but i have never seen that problem.

  • i purchased the g10. it was on it the wall next to the tc-p50v10 and there was now difference in picture quality. rex tv actually put both tv's on a calibration disc . almost all reviews show that the tc-p50g10 had slightly better reults but most people would discern the differnce. i also have had the tc-p46u1. i hated it. to dull. i put it in my home for about a week and returned it. i have the older th-50px75u. the g10 still outperforms as well.

  • @jeffalexcathy You are correct. Beware that it concerns the " TC" series that have the THX and such features and not the TX series. I am searching for the TC-46G15. A very good alternative for the V10 series.

  • hey there. you are advertising that the g10 series isn't thx certified. you are false. i have the tc-p46g10. i use the thx movie mode.

  • How do you like the G 10???

Did you compare it to any other panasonic modes before your purchase??

  • This is the UK model we reviewed. In the UK, the model DOES NOT have THX.

  • Why hasn't Panasonic added Amazon on the Viera Cast in the UK?

  • Really generic review...i expected more from avforums

  • The review videos we publish are usually just summaries. Effectively adverts for the full reviews. Go to the site for the full story.

  • my g10 does have thx mode ?????

  • It's a shame there is no 40ish inch V10s in the US/Canada.

  • hey you sounds Scottish :P

  • He is

  • what's with the phoney American accent? or is that his normal one O.o

  • all these models are just to confuse people.

    Seriously. just a gimmick.

they add just a few features on their more expensive models like viera cast which is just internet access. LOL.

    cons.

  • @Ibringthetruth1 - no all these models are just showinng how smart panasonic is!!!!!!!!

  • atleast they don't put cheaper parts in the lower models. And they don't have some sort of a lottery where you could end up with a lower quality panel even though you bought a top of the line tv. Specifically talking about companies that sell LCDs.

  • maybe you can help me then??

I am trying to find the difference in picture quality between the G 10 and the V 10??? any help would be appreciated!!

  • @ESPsandEmgs

    @ESPsandEmgs

Go to the store and look and read reviews.

    Seems like not much difference.

v10 has cinema setting 96Hz. read reviews.

    amazon . com/Panasonic-Viera-TC-P54V10-Sub-field-Plasma/dp/B002C8LX6S

  • I have been to the Best Buy here in town but they only have the U1 & S1 they don't have any G 10s or V10s on display?!

And I have seen reviews but they all look the same on cheap video cameras.

  • if if gives you a headache turn the brightness down...

  • hi i got a new 42inch g10 full hd plasma tv,and i am getting headaches and eye pain from it, its either too bright or too dull.i thought the 600 htz would git rid of the judder effect ,but it still seems to be there, any ideas on what the best picture setting is as in contrast and brightness levels?

  • your tv needs to break in as well

  • Is the TCP models by Panasonic sold in NA that much different?

CNET reviewed the V10 version and said that it has excellent Image Processing unit with 96Hz for eliminating judder. They also mentioned the plethora of picture setting options present in that model, unlike G10.

I can see that the G10 is similar in both EU and NA, unlike the V10 which seem to differ according to territory.

  • yes i don't see why it would be THX certified here in the US but not in the UK. Since the UK tends to do everything contrary to what normal countries do (e.g. drive on the wrong side of the road :P) perhaps that is the case. In any case the G10 and the G15 are THX certified in the United States of AMERICA; whether its worth it or not is another question all together. Dlee4she, is THX certification worthwhile?

  • this is soooooo wrong both the g10 and the v10 have thx certified displays! i should know i sell then all the time.

  • Nooo it is so right....for the UK!

In the UK only the V10 and Z1 are THX certified. In the USA the G10,V10 and Z1 are. As this is a UK review the information is correct.

  • Thinking of getting that V10, anyone from the uk amazon and comet are selling it for £823!!

  • How's the TX-P50G10E and that's a g10 model right? And wtf is the E standing for.

  • i have one question,,im concerned about the 1080p/24 for the movies i heard that the flickering wont go until i put it on 96hz which is only availble on v10 how about 60hz its availble on g10 but does it remove the flickering

  • how does the S1 model compare to the G10 in terms of pq?

  • the v series has the same picture quality as the z series..

  • nooooooo it doesnt

  • Where is this guy from? He has sort of an American accent but says zed instead of zee and refers to pounds instead of dollars. Are you from the US or UK?

  • David is based in the UK but his origins are at this stage undetermined...

  • The G10 is THX certified ! I work where they sell it. and thats what it is lol.

  • Where do you work?

  • besbuy.

it retails for 2199$ ( 50 inch ) and the v10 for 2799$. Both of them have a THX mode. and both say the same thing about THX on the box. only difference is the Design.

  • If you watch the video and read the comments, you will appreciate that AVForums is a UK website reviewing UK models. Things are different here in the UK where the G10 DOES NOT have THX mode.

  • for whatever reason they didn't put it on the uk version. not really sure what panny did that for. for myself b/c of this i'll be getting the g10 for a good price from best buy. i'd like the v10 but the difference in price is not justified by the difference in the units at least in the us.

  • yeah i just ordered a 54" G10 and its THX certified for sure.

  • wth? the G10's in Europe don't have THX? I have a G10 and it's THX Certified I live in the US

  • Yes, THX is only on the V10 in the UK, Plus both the G10 and V10 have no calibration controls, unlike their American cousins.

  • You said non of the G10 or V10 had Colour Management, but on Panasonics UK website it says both models have 3D Colour Management. Is that slightly diffrent?

  • It is an on/off switch which does nothing but make the colours more over saturated. It does not offer Colour Management that actually allows you to manage the colours, like RGBCYM saturation, hue and brightness. HTH

  • You can read the full reviews on our website

  • Good Review. Although I would like it to be a little longer and go more in-depth with the two Plasma sets.

I have a question for you: How does the G10E and V10 perform compared to the older Panasonic PZ800?

I have an 3 month old 50PZ800, so it would be nice to know. Where I live, in Denmark, the G10E is surprisingly cheaper than the older pz800.
