  • The complete collapse of the World Trade Center Towers - at near free-fall acceleration - is the only event in recorded history that has been officially acknowledged as being in violation of the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics (on 3 occasions that morning). Not to mention Newton's Third Law of Motion, and the Law of Conservation of Momentum.... but lets not let physics and reality get in the way of what mainstream society and the media has taught us to believe....

  • I went to the store to buy components for a new light saber I was building; the electrons and protons both cost me 20 cents each, but the neutrons were free of charge.

  • I cooled a man to absolute zero today, he was 0K afterwards

  • WHAT BULLSHIT

  • I don't get 2:00 . What does that mean? Why is it so funny?! D:

  • @dayneoram it is because work done = heat

  • My science exam asked me to explain Thermodynamics.

So i thought it would be a good idea to write the lyrics of this song down for my essay.

Man, did i fuck that one up.

  • When someone starts waving the axiom of choice around, you know there's gonna be trouble...

  • Rather good, what?

  • Joseph Heller:

The Universe is a Fire and we are Living on an Ember.

  • what did the nuclear physicist eat for lunch? fission chips -_-

  • Holy hell there is a religious argument going on in this video's comment section.

  • @someonespadre ...And that's a surprise? Any video left on youtube long enough develops a religious debate. It's similar in function to Godwin's Law.

  • @Theoneandonly5811 I asked how God came to exist in the first place, and you answered by saying "He's the beginning and the end"; that does not answer my question.

  • @Ushakal Maybe I can help :D Look when it comes to God, the concept of everything in the observable universe does not apply to him, therefore to him, time is not a dimension, and he does not live in 'something' the way we live in a universe.

  • @Theoneandonly5811 That doesn't answer my question.

  • @Theoneandonly5811 How did God come to exist in the first place? Do you have an explanation for that?

  • @Theoneandonly5811 you are an idiot.

the earth is NOT a closed system. and the universe DOES obey conservation of mass/energy when applying the big bang theory.

the conservation of mass/energy is a perfect example of why god did NOT create the earth. why would your god create these laws of physics if he has to break them to create anything?

  • @natman48 Have you looked in how the Axiom of Choice might apply to the set of things known of as the Universe? Naive set theory can cause all kinds of paradoxes and problems. Axiom of Choice would suggest it would be impossible to ascribe (let alone prove) a creation by a singular entity, however if there was an infinite number of potential creators, one or more could do the creation, but it would be impossible to say which. Kind of ties in with some of Roger Penrose's idea and Brane theories.

  • If I heard someone singing this id kick their ass.

  • @intheshitter

You should come hang out outside my Chemistry lectures then :P

  • @intheshitter

    Arse!

  • @irkibby Kicking their ass's arse is alot more funnier though

  • I love the video, I've watched it twice now, my Chemistry teacher put in on when she couldn't get her CD to work when we started the first law od thermodynamics

  • This is why science teachers shouldn't be allowed to make jokes!

  • A Unusual Combination. "Darth Vader" & "Flanders & Swann".

I Wonder What Kind of Song's they could have done if they had Decided to Cover Science Fiction, Hmmm.

  • I farted lol.

    How is that for thermodynamics.

  • "Heat is work and work's a curse, and all the heat in the universe is gonna COOOOOOOOOOOOOL down.'

  • @madammorrighan The universe isn't technically cooling down, the universe is classed as a closed system, since the universe it expanding its thermal energy is expanding looking like its cooling down.

  • hey how can I get that song? I wanna use it for my science class because I have the laws for a project. it's pretty snazzy haha.

  • @anime7addict Either On "Cassete Tape" (Which i Had in the 1990's) or you can get It on DVD Nowday's on Amazon & Other Sites.

    A Great Song.

You Should Here the Introduction to this which is on Both Kind's of Media Which Had Me Falling over Laughing It Was so good.

  • "My teacher asked me to put this up", then "because their pussy-tive"... what?

  • This just became my favorite video

  • Actually the second law/Entrapy is that mass will equalize itself. We can see this in a horse. If you put it in a titanium box so it's not hurt by the elements, and leave it alone, it will obviously give war and equalize to a neutral state.

  • @spinynorman230 but temperature is a measure of the rate of movement of the particles in a a particular body/volume. ergo, if mass equalizes (that is, achieves a uniform equidistance), there is less movement, and hence, less energy/heat

  • @ala5530 ...Yeah, and they're saying "Heat cannot of itself pass from one body to a hotter body." But oh well, doesn't matter, it's funny. :)

  • @ala5530 "Mass equalizing" actually has nothing to do with anything in thermodynamics. Temperature is 1/dS/dE, which reduces approximately to the average kinetic energy for most systems at high temperatures. Kinetic energy, however, while related to velocity is NOT the same as the velocity, or rate of movement. Two systems with different average velocities (i.e. different rates of movement) can still have the same average kinetic energy (1/2mv^2) and thus the same temperature.

  • @spinynorman230 Actually, the second law is that entropy will increase or remain constant or increase in any process (which does actually imply that heat will not pass from a cooler body to a hotter body). It has nothing to do with "mass equalizing itself".

  • I distinctly remeber Wayne & Schuster doing this song, but cannot find it anywhere! Thanks for putting this out there IncomCorporation!

  • they forgot the 3rd law which is the possibility of a material reaching below absolute zero is futile. they also forgot the zeroth law which states that if two objects or more make physical contact to each other they will both share their energy till they are at thermal equilibrium.

  • @mynameisradar u mean like entropy??? am sure the 3rd law (entropy) encompasses that anyhow! 2nd law kinda give's u an idea as 2 what happens in thermal comduction!!!! 2nd law, heat cannot pass from a cooler body to a hotter one!

absolute zero is never achieved as entropy alway's raises the minus kelvin number!

  • @Oxydox hard days night working like a dog? its all I've got

  • I think I will remember it now.......lol

  • Loved it!

  • Nice.

  • Nice Video!!

  • Two atoms are walking down the street. One turns to the other and says "I think I lost an electron!" The second atom replies "are you sure?" "Yes" says the first atom, "I'm positive".

  • nice

  • tehe ;)

  • They played this in my first year chemistry class. I didn't stop smiling and laughing throughout it. Sadly not everyone had the same instant love for it that I did. Some people clearly don't have nerdy enough senses of humour.

  • hilarious, !!!!

    nice

  • got the lyrics? Or the mp3 version? I love the song :)

  • It's "Swann" btw - That's why I failed to find this song sooner :P

  • This was played at my grandad's funeral as his coffin went in for cremation. Its quite a sight to see half a congregation burst into laughter and the other half look totally puzzled

  • Your grandad had a great sense of humour.

  • your grandad is awesome

  • @lawdy Was your Gandad a dick?

  • @lawdy Was your Grandad a dick?

  • what a great song! Flanders and Swann, discovered by a new generation.

  • I enjoyes all your chemistry jokes in between the pics.

  • I love Flanders and Swan - have both their albums (vinyl) "At the drop of a hat" and "At the drop of another hat". Brilliant stuff! Thank you!

  • lmao, Stone definitely doesn't afraid of anything.

  • Eh, Stone's a pretty cool guy. Sends youtube links and doesn't afraid of anything.

  • Just commented but YouTube deleted it.

Thanks. My son loved it. The best way to teach Thermodynamics outside watching Doctor Who!

  • I think it must be on the previous track; the splits aren't always sensible, halfway through words, etc.

  • What happened to the banter that precedes the song?
