  • @tacomaster21

Its like this, you visit a unknown website,WoT gets a picture of it and adds it to thier site database or whatever.

    Thats all.

It doesnt check what you do or whatever

  • why not supporting youtube video on my mobile phone ? plz help

  • I've just installed AVG 2011 and it has a service just like this one, that gives me green checks for the safe sites and stuff. The problem is that I made the same searches you did and every single link was green. I checked the 25th page and it was still green all over. Should I really trust this AVG safe search?

  • @fabio24amarante

AVG is horrible,do not trust it.

useless information that is offtopic:i automaticly know if pc has virus

  • Send a disguised text message...

    >>spoofsms.gu.ma<<

  • The only problem with WOT is that sometimes trolls rate sites low just because they don't like the content, or just to be assholes (I'm not talking about racist sites and that), I'm talking about legit good sites, even sites for legit companies

  • how about northon safe search?? is it more reliable? or better

  • @re4gamez I tried downloading Safe Web Lite to Mozilla but it isnt compatible with version 5.0.1. I had to download WOT as a add-on. I recently made the switch from IE to Firefox so are there any more sites that you or anyone are compatible and reliable for Firefox????

  • @Bookof1998 don't know..:

  • MyWOT, No Strings, AdBlocker Plus, and Firefox = Ultimate Safe Browsing.

  • Link please. I thank ya for the tutorial.

  • So more people figure things the better, the less the worse.

  • whats funny isthat on their website i searched WOT.com and the flashcard for the website(another one) came up red XD

  • Awesome review man

I'll tell you why people voted for you it's cos you rule u got really awesome reviews and stuff

  • @decisionvida no its not an anti virus that uses legit software to scan a web page. agreed.. Web of trust is based on bias reviews and ratings.. if you want something that works get yourself a good ant virus like AVG that has a legit web page rating.

  • agreed.. Web of trust is based on bias reviews and ratings.. if you want something that works get yourself a good ant virus like AVG that has a legit web page rating.

  • @decisionvida yes you do. Just use Microsoft Security Essentials and this Ad.

  • @decisionvida i won't trust that.. at least you need an antivirus!

  • #LOL

  • there might be a virus

  • WOT is one bizarre site. I see 31 negative comments versus three positive comments on one website and the site is rated excellent in all regards. So I look at some other sites that I regard favorably, and ditto, the same sort of pattern emerges.

I'm guessing WOT's rating scheme is politically motivated.

  • so is avg free

  • WOT 0wns MCaffee Site Advisor, and AVG's crap

  • same bad site that u went to that u were doing spy doctor review 2010 review then get redirected to that bad review site

  • link extend it better it has wot ,macafee, pctools, norton, google all in one plus others

  • lol i use norton toolbar with WOT and they both work great togther and no conflicts

  • I use WOT with Google Chrome. Could not have it any other way.

  • I was thinking would WOT and sandboxie be safe without AV ?

  • WOT is better than any virus protection, like Norton, in the history of man.

  • I wont surf the web without wot! I have been using it since 2007. I used to use avg web safety and I only saw 1 site that wasnt green- thepiratenbay which wot rated it green and I use tpb and I dont get a virus or any of that.

  • Hey matt, mBAM always blocks an IP address whenever i go to pogo..any reasons why.?

  • I Love Wot :). i used to use site advisor. but that ones useless now

  • Thanks

  • i luv wot but some idiots rate bad sites good sites

  • @rockhopper964 Yes I have WOT and I have noticed that, also.

  • Apparently, rogue anti-virus sites DO get through WoT even if you have it set on Warning because I think WoT doesn't recognize the site until the redirected site loads.

  • i have it on firefox but i did accidently clicked on a malicious website. it did block but the malware already got through luckily kis blocked it but thats just to prove that it doesn't work with all sites!

  • This is awesome! It even prevented access to an annoying pop-up by imageshack.

  • Is Mywot out to Scam everyone! This is a company that says it is there to protect you, but is it actually putting viruses in your computers??? on facebook d com /mywot is warning everyone they can. Be safe and happy in this year! who knows for sure now days, but if true what a better way to do it then like this, they say "we are here 2 help" and then take all you have. hmmm

  • WOT-icons remind me of candy and fruit loops ^^ but too bad the red icon have to be strawberry.. =[

  • Thank you mrizos for your good reviews

  • Good video!!! Wot = 10

  • Cool!!!

  • mywot saved my pc

  • I love WOT...They have it for Chrome Beta now. XD

  • is it best to set it on Block rather than warn

  • nice video's man. im subscribing

  • I just installed WoT and I like it a lot. I was using Mcafee site advisor. I noticed that a lot of sites that were listed as "bad sites" with MSA are listed as good sites with WoT. I wondered "Why is/was that?" So I Googled MSA and found out that MSA is "outdated." I'm now wondering if the sites MSA listed as "good sites" were actually bad sites. I dunno. I'm just glad I got rid of MSA because it only worked whenever it wanted to. Very annoying.

  • @ Manfocused: Make sure you have it set to block instead of warn.

  • TY man this helped a lot i can now search the web with safety!

  • This is the best addon ever!!!

  • thx dude now i can watch porn and no virus thx :)

  • You win.

  • :D!?!?

  • I downloaded WOT and it works but does show ratings for every link, only search results. please help, as it seems alot of bad sites are getting by.

  • Ever since I put a spell checker add on to my Internet explorer, IE likes to open new tabs when I browse Web addresses. I just want the original tab to change like it use to, and still have the option of opening a new tab when I want to. Anyone have any ideas plz help.

  • On Firefox the alert things are gray or black or sumthing.... -.- i and i want it colored... so can u help?

  • Go to settings and turn off color blind mode.

  • I think you turned on color blind mode

  • You have color blind mode on. Go to the WOT options to turn it off.

  • could u help me? i tried downloading it ad it gave me a warning message sayin something like: windows installer could not be accessed. This can occour if you are running windows in safemode or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact you support personnel for assistance. could you please help me?

  • I use Web of trust with COMODO internet security 3.9 on highest settings and never have had a problem =)

  • this even blocks that last measure site

  • That side is the spawn of satan, of course it will block it!

  • hey matt does this slow down your firefox browser..????

  • not at all.

  • @mrizos im wondering something matt........I read the terms if service and it said that some of the websites I visit would be sent to the mywot website.......I am worried that this program is spyware. And even if it isn't bad spyware, I dont want to be spied on by anyone. I cannot tolerate anything like that, lol. So, please reply to me saying if you think this is a type of spyware, or if it is not. :3

  • @Tacomaster21 :3.

  • @mrizos setup this and the coputer will slow?

  • My McAfee SiteAdvisor has stop working so maybe i will try it

  • bigphat its better than the mcafee siteadvisor

  • Nice vid, Really really great for kids computers.

  • NICE!

  • hows WOT protected against zombie network infesting it's scores to claim something is safe while it really isn't ?

there are always loopholes in such systems ...

  • how much space dose it take up?

  • 300kb

  • question that im questionning please repond

what if the the eslpaination is fake?

cuz he did say it was COMMENTS

  • look, there are thousnads of not millions of peopel who will give a positive(meaning correct verdict on a site) there could be some stupid peple who make stuff up..but WOT is mostly correct..i use this

  • A must have add on for both Firefox and IE!

U can also go to WOT's settings and set up warnings or even block completely dangerous sites by clicking the levers down.

  • Love it. Used this when my McAfee broke down also.

  • hey i got it now and it's good.i didn't feel like joining in. thxs mrizos your the best

  • it dose look safe....i should try it out

  • Comment removed

  • web of trust is just another program to me that takes up resources, instead people should be given a manual of how to surf safely :P be carefull of any link, dont download anything, if your computer runs before you access the web, then anything the web tells you is lies, even politics!

  • At the end, it was behind by 1minute and 10 seconds.

  • u gotta luv wot theres nothing out there that even comes close

  • This is actually better than McAfee. McAfee Site Advisor advises you that it's a bad site, but even IF you click it, it doesn't block like WOT does. So, if something downloads using Site Advisor, it's already on your PC since it didn't block the site like WOT.

  • Yeah, unlike McAfee SiteAdvisor, WOT is blocking dangerous sites. SiteAdvisor slows down browsers and it's rating are not so accurate.

  • Been using it for a couple weeks and I love it. I was reading one scorecard and the site owner had replied and wasn't happy. Well, too bad. I think it's great these sites are being shown for what they really are.

  • What is marked in Delious?

  • only bad thing, i found a website with a green circle, pretty good rating, but when i went to it my NIS freaked out and said my computer was under attack.. i went back and read comments, apparently it had pop-ups with malicious programs, and yet it had a green ring? just make sure u read the comments i guess..

  • oh and youv definatley got my subscribtion :P

  • so this really works? oh and im guessing it rates almost every website?

  • Sweet :D

  • He recommends this product because the ratings are incredibly accurate and the tool is free and effective. If you are using Internet Explorer or Firefox, and don't have the WOT add-on, I strongly suggest you download it now. You can also use it to prevent your children from going to websites with porn that they probably shouldn't be seeing, or for both anti-malware and parental controls at the same time!

  • I just installed the add-on for firefox for WOT, nice!

  • Its Expensive.....

  • another great video keep em coming also great video quality

  • another great video from matt!! Thx for the info about WOB

  • Its WOT

  • Thanks Mat,

    It helped me alot!

  • thanks for this video...a real lifesaver...nicely done

  • sound it out of sink

  • You forgot to add you can have it block sites as well if u register.

  • If you're using the latest version of the add-on and Internet Explorer 8, you don't have to register to have it block sites. Now you have access to all the settings whether or not you're registered.

  • I use WOT and i am VERY happy with it. Have it set to block yellow, orange and red sites. :D PLUS I have my Firefox Sanboxed by Sandboxie.

  • Question does this slows your internet browser down?

  • Not at all. I use it all the time it's awesome and installs in a second.

  • Thanks for the respond :)

  • Great Quality Matt

  • Personlay I fill that AVG is better on the aspect around WOT becuase say the webpage is just recenly change to a malicouse content or "Hacked" then you might have trouble but avg live scans all the website you load so that is just scaned while you search it (" Personaly i fill me or secure that that aspect lol ")

  • avg sucks

  • i have mcafee siteadvisor and it works both on internet explorer and firefox..although i only use firefox now. So which one do u recommend? wob or mcafee siteadvisor? also..should i get rid of internet explorer and just keep firefox?

  • u should keep IE in case viruse attack ur FF & WOT>mcafee obviously...

  • yea i noticed that WOT is better, but i just use both lol

  • lol

    I use both too.

  • soccer use wot

  • The sound is a littlebit off but, It a good video! :)

  • Thanks Matt .God bles you .Great website for users like Me .

  • i always use WOT, but i wish they had an opera addon

  • hey i use web of trust also and theres also wot plugin for firefox if you wanted to download the plugin

  • Thank you for the excellent overview of WOT. To address some of the comments - being community based is the major difference between WOT and SiteAdvisor. We have often heard from our users that WOT ratings seem to be more accurate and up-to-date because there is a large active user base supporting it. This is especially critical when it comes to rating vendor reliability and child safety. WOT is free and you can also use it side by side with SiteAdvisor.

    Safe surfing,

    Deborah

  • Wow! Thanks Deb, I hope the video helps you guys out a bit, because it's really help my friends and family. Thanks for watching!

  • nice quality video! which screen recorder are you using?

  • Camtasia

  • Have you udated Camtasia to 6? I hate that it doesn't show the time..

  • I got camtasia as a free give away and it does everything I need it to for now, so I'm just sticking with V3

  • nis09 also got something like this but this show green/red on the google ad/search & got comment link from wot user comment & warn u about it form the look of this video...

  • Wow. High quality. What settings did you use in Camtasia?

  • Youtube is doing this for me now

  • WOT is awesome, does more than siteadvisor and blocks red websites.

  • My McAfee Site Advisor Free also gave warning when on red sites. It doesnt just show colours but actually blocks it. But, Too many false positives/negatives

  • lol your dad too old to be having a sidekick

  • sometimes the sidekick needs to be held

  • Hi. Great advice. I use trend protect but I am going to test out wot soon.

Why do u use such an outdated browser? do you think ie 6 is better than 7 and 8? Just wondering. I myself hate firefox I use opera and IE8

    Thanks.

  • why you hate ff

    i think ff awesome

ie6 is the most insucure browswer ever, so it helps when your trying to get your computer exploited and infected

  • bc a ton of people still use ie6

  • great vid both in terms of the content and the quality of the vid itself since it had such an amazing res. I'll sure be checking WOT out, now to seee if it works with chrome...

  • thanks man!

  • nice resolution! ^^

  • thanks

  • thank you Matt!

    I love all you videos

    they are very useful

  • Cool, glad they help you!

  • IL your reviews.

    Thanks for reviewing WOT

    As stated.

    WOT now?

  • thanks man!

  • mrizos,

Glad you took a look at WOT.

I've been using WOT, Finjan and, most importantly, noscript as Firefox add ons for some time.

You really need to check out noscript. It claims an ability to block clickjacking and cross scripting.

  • Yeah, I do need to take a look at noscript.

  • Apsolutely useful video very very nice.

  • thank you sire, I appreciate it!

  • WOT is one of the greatest site advisors! i use to use mcafee but it reall doesn't tell you which website is bad because it never detects something only sometimes. but yea WOT FTW!

  • agreed.

  • More or less the same as Mcafee Site Advisor which is what I use!

Love ur vids though...keep em coming!

  • thanks man!

  • lol

    Web

    Of

    Trust

    wot now?

  • cool!

  • this was the kick i needed to switch from mcafee siteadvisor

  • Yeah 'specially since KAS says it finds a trojan in a temp file from the siteadvisor installation :D

  • it's probably a false positive

  • You're probably glad you did.

  • yep, much better than SiteAdvisor

  • a lot of people need to see your reviews, it saved me A LOT of time from getting rid of virus and such.

    GREAT WORK!

  • Thanks man, I appreciate it!

  • your voice is SOOO ahead of video :P

  • I fixed it.

  • I didnt try mcafee site advisor but i think this is much better than it..thnx ^^

  • WOT is great! I run it along site McAfee site advisor. Wot is more accurate.

  • This is like pctools browser defender!

  • is it faster than mcafee's version? because i stop using that because it slowed me down. Kinda pissed me off.

  • seems instant to me.

  • Your videos get really out of sync lately...

  • fixed that.

  • mcafee site advisor is same thing

  • I've never heard of this, interesting.

  • Cool, this is much better then Mcafee site advisor but its my fault for using something thats Mcafee lol x_x

  • Yeah, I personally like it a lot more.
