Sorry mozey10, the whole story about the university etc. is a hoax some unknown person fabricated and then which got spread around the internet. The video is by Animusic, and indeed is entirely CGI. With current technology, it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to make an instrument play with this precision via shooting balls at things. Real automatic musical instruments (orchestrions, etc) use far easier and less chancy methods like using beaters placed close to their instruments.
