It can be played in any of the 7 tone scales. Pagan play it in what they call sundaren (McPhee said they called it baro when the gamelan was still at Griya Tampak Gangsul). Other villages with five-tone gamelan play it in selisir. the recording we got this from was in this scale. pagan call this scale selisir and stsi call it sundaren.
Isn't Sekar Gadung usually in saih baro rather than selisir?
