  • if its clicking? can it be recovered with software or its a hardware problem now?

  • @MontylsHere clicking is a hardware problem with a bad head reader. Im having that problem now with my porn stash which i spent 3 years collecting it. I was considering sending it for data recovery. see "Hard Drive Recovery Part 7"@2:22 .

  • @MontylsHere Data recovery software is really a good thing, MiniTool data recovery software is a good choice for you. It is easy to use and it is efficient.. some of the editions are absolutely FREE!!!!!!!! you can have a try.

  • Advanced Hard Drive Data Recovery Video Tutorial

    /watch?v=l5HupqVdTZY

  • 2:38 best joke ever

  • i dont understand what RAID is.... ive researched and researched i dont get it :(

  • Whats interesting is that tapes have continued to be able to store way more than hard drives, Betamax can sore 4 tb of data

  • There is far more surface area on a tape to write on, that's why.

  • My external harddrives with USB connection is no more recognized by my operating system. Can anybody tell what went wrong. I can read my DATA any more.

  • How long till we have no moving parts? Just chunks of 9 volt battery sized drives?

You should say that myharddrivedied . com has two d's . it took a while to find it.

  • Well thanks for doing that for me! Since YouTube does not allow posting domains it makes it hard. Thanks again.

  • @Road82 Now SSD Exists!

  • "You should say that myharddrivedied . com has two d's . it took a while to find it"

    Huh? Geez, some people.

Isnt it painfully, overwhelmingly, and bowel-shakingly obvious that it would have TWO D'S??

  • Now soild state is out. Lol dosnt technolgy chnage fast.

  • no, it doesn't... all the hdds you see today are SO old in terms of technology. They work on mechanic principles, they are so SLOW. SSD drives are something that should have been released llong ago...

  • "SERIES OF TUBES"

AHAHAHHAHAHA too bad no one understood it.

BTW, is the poster of these videos Scott Moulton himself? I have a question if so.

  • Hi SuperflyflippingA, was'nt try to mean or something back there :P :) Something else I wanted to mention, I had a stuck file once, I tried to delete it using all means, nothing worked. I did notice it did not have an ending to the file name like example: .exe .dsc etc. and it was showing up as 0kbs. I decided to do a fresh reinstall of windows XP home.

  • Opps, I wasn't trying to be mean I meant. Can't type tonight :(

  • I'm on a WesternDigital hard drive, and there reliable hard drives, just becuase this guy said that comment about WD hard drives failing the most for static, thats not the hard drives fault, thats your fault for touching it and not grouding yourself first. My WD hard drive is about 4 yrs old now and still going strong, I even have my old WD hard that still works.

  • well he didnot say that only wd disks fails on static electricity, other fails to, but wd takes most percent on that part, and others on psyhical damage or other....anyway, i have ...i wanted to say had 3 wd 320G drives in my pc, after a month of use one drive burned at all...board on it burned avay and its broken, ok i had waranty, after 6 months next one died, it stoped showing partitions and ewrything, i recovered data from that second drive but

  • it taken me at least a 6 days...and now after one year third drive started to make cliking sounds sometimes....sory on bad english and on character limitation, had to split in two:D

  • You can also look at this in another way. WD are mecanical superior to most other manufacturers. So WD disks should last longer if you treat them nice ;) But then again I guess this is just a one of gazillion other opinions out there! ;)

  • I wonder if you can do a bit for bit image shown on part 3 so you can recover SOME data if there is platter damage.

  • Excellent video!!! On the perpendicular stuff: I wonder, if the laser zaps the lubrication away, how does it relubricates itself afterwards? Also, is the heating of the platter by the laser not decreasing the platter lifetime? Keep up the good stuff!

  • Wow O,O (8:22) My broken usb exterior HD was made by western ditgital XD didnt know their HD are bad. =(

  • If anyone is interested I will have a whole new speech at Defcon 15 this August 2007. If you want to learn more and all new stuff about data recovery then you should attend.
