They are talking about how great those albums are, but they don't use the original recordings from the actual album... Huh? Why not the Metallica recordings?
Ride the Lightning is the best Metallica Album for me, its epic from the riffs to melodies, vocals, drums, bass, solos and even the name of the album, it implies they are riding the lightning as they use the electricity to make music, not to mention the tone is WAY better than on Master of Puppets its less mid scooped and more agressive.
yeh it is i think kill em all was an album manly for james and lars because they were into the hole metal music style but still its not like cliff and kirk wernt into it no they were. in ride it did step them up there was more dynamics and it was just great. master was just amazing there was alot of cliff burton in that album but i agrre ride was awsome and justice i think if they wouldnt have cut the abss then it would have been ana awsome album because kirk had alot of awsome solos in it
have you got any problem with it? i'm from uruguay, and millions of people out there dont speak english as you do, and this is the only way to show them the video
hmm. its definitly prior to 1986. its quite possible its the one from cliff em all. search for " cliff em all fade to black". but im not positive. give it a go.
how come he always gets songwriting credits when he just arranges them? its beyond me, i suppose he does write those awesome drum parts XD ST ANGER!!! \M/
Arrangement of a song is writing. You think deciding where to put a breakdown or a solo or how to lay out the verse/chorus structure isn't part of the writing process? Thats just silly.
Its part of the arranging process its not like coming up with lyrics or the riffs. the way the writing credits are on metallica albums people could be mistaken to believe that hetfield and ulrich were a songwriting team ala lennon and mccartney etc, it should have music and lyrics-hetfield arranged by ulrich.
if u've seen the studio video clips from metallica, he's the guy that decides what the finished song is gonna sound like. He kinda has the say as in whether the song is good or not, and he arranges it to get em to his liking.

I'd have to disagree with the video, Ride the Lightning had one dip at Escape. Other than that it really is an amazing album.
anubistehman56 4 years ago 3
what are you talking about? Escape is great! Certainly not the best, but still a pretty good song!
Guandy 3 years ago 14
agree to disagree I guess. Escape isn't a terrible song, but its never sat well with me; the other tracks on the album are all better.

What does lars actually write song wise?
VictimofAtkins 5 years ago
he doesn't really write any of the songs he helps with the arrangment, where the solos go or where they first verse should come in.
hammet411 5 years ago
how come he always gets songwriting credits when he just arranges them? its beyond me, i suppose he does write those awesome drum parts XD ST ANGER!!! \M/
VictimofAtkins 5 years ago
he gets writing credits because a part of songwriting is arranging the song
FlankanFTB 5 years ago
No you can arrange a cover song it's an arrangement not writing.
