Drummer here. I love Travis and his playing, and I respect it. HOWEVER, there are plenty of other drummers that blow him away. Say what you will, I think a good solo needs a variety of time signatures and genres.

@jsmoooth05 i think his drumming on Take Off Your Pants And Jacket is really good n his drum solo around that era (with the flames around him) had some good parts but he really went downhill on their self titled n with all those stupid ass remixes. now his drum solos for their live show is mainly just simple beats. you should check out Jessie Caraballo and watch his improv drum solo. its him in a house and a side view (should be the 1st or 2nd vid that comes up) but its mind blowing

the thing that sets travis apart from the rest isnt his technical skill or speed or anything like that obviously. he's decently fast, but he holds his sticks like a monkey...drumming is all about creativity. its not increadibly hard to play to blink 182 songs, but its hard to come up with stuff as creative as Travis's. thats what makes him the best drummer in the world. his

the people that think we're hating on travis, we're not. We're more analyzing him, drummers do that to everyone. Like you'll find people don't like neil peart because he doesn't improvise, which is a legitimate flaw. Travis just has a lot of them, no offense, but he does. But in the past three years i've noticed him getting better. @jsmoooth05 i think his drumming on Take Off Your Pants And Jacket is really good n his drum solo around that era (with the flames around him) had some good parts but he really went downhill on their self titled n with all those stupid ass remixes. now his drum solos for their live show is mainly just simple beats. you should check out Jessie Caraballo and watch his improv drum solo. its him in a house and a side view (should be the 1st or 2nd vid that comes up) but its mind blowing

Now if you meant "practically," you'd still be wrong. He plays a lot of different things on all the songs.
Travis also plays jazz, hip-hop, Latin, and other kinds of music.
Travis is a real drummer. Just because he's famous and better than you doesn't make him fake.

@yeenar i agree that he may have the capacity to play different things on different songs, but ive been drumming for only 5 years and i was able to play LITERALLY everything that he does in this "solo" for over a year. hes so mediocre its not funny. like, hes the second worst popular drummer(meg white is the worst). Im not hating on travis, im hating on any drummers that actually see something good in this guy. sooo many better drummer. and also, i dont think travis can "feel" jazz.
