  • We needed to be watching this video daily starting about 10 years ago

  • False advertising..."pseudo-physiology" is more appropriate!

  • Hey, thanks for the comment. I'd love for clarification on the "pseudo" - what did I get wrong? I've spent years studying this stuff, but I'm easily confused. You'd do me a great favor if you'd show me where I went wrong. What do you suggest I read or study for clarification?

  • you only have to be 18 to drink in ireland and 16 in spain, so what are you saying 21 is the age in america is thats safer and its wrong here?

  • Point wasn't whether it was right or wrong, but that there was thought put into the age based on the research about brain development. Who knows, maybe the environment in other parts of the world changes the age that people's brains develop? In the US, the research shows that it is in the 20's. What is the addiction rate in these countries,do you know? Have they done studies in Ireland and Spain? It'd be interesting to see if there are differences between different cultures/countries,etc.

  • T.McB-

  • what a joke. I expected an informative video on how addiction works in the brain and the first thing she starts to do is to brainwash me with her religion. FUCK THAT!! i know that believe in a higher helpful power is very usefull for addited people, but why the bible?

i want you to agree with me

if gods word is true, this is true... retarded!!

can you be addicted to the bible as well?

the other part of video is quite good btw.

  • btw, is she saying 'if you only smoke'? wasn't nicotine one of the most addicting drugs out there? one that even ex-heroin addicts didn't manage to put down?

  • ...a common misconception - heroin gets you arrested and you OD and sometimes you end up with aids - the dangers of smoking seemed to me and others less hazardous...something we could deal with later. But you're right, and the experts agree and now i do as well. although I don't think I'm retarded (although my children might disagree), I do have a ton to learn! And yes, you're right again - you can absolutely be addicted to the bible! so thanks for your insightful comments. blessings, t

  • @znubzz188 why don't you fuck off you atheist - Maybe you should read the bible if you looking at sites about addiction - you no nothing ! And if your commenting on what addicts need and your not one YOU FUCK OFF!

  • i am here right now because i'm struggling with something that i know is starting to manifest its self into an addiction. i understand that if i don't get a grip now i may fall into a hole i can't get out of i am frighten and don't know what to do.

  • if you're an addict but dont believe in god then you're fucked. join the cult of NA, AA or die, thats what they say...

  • AA, NA & the other awesome programs agree that addiction is a spiritual malady with a spiritual solution.Without a Higher Power, the disease of addiction wants to kill you, steal your dreams, & destroy your life.I'm not telling you what to believe or not believe. In my opinion, we're in this fight together,no matter who or what we call this higher power. It's the disease that's the enemy. So if I knew you & could meet you for coffee, I'd love to hear your story

    & I'd hope you'd return the favor.

  • as soon as she said " God " I said fuck it and listened no more.

  • why drag the bible in to this???

  • Great question. Many people won't find the bible a helpful resource for addiction, in our community,we have found it to be hopeful & helpful & instructive.I don't think it's essential to utilize the bible in any & every discussion of addiction but it is awesome for some.Support for this kind of thinking is found in the AA materials. The 12 steps originally were heavily influenced by scriptural principles and The Oxford Group..

  • i can't help but think that this information was somewhat bias and rounded off (cut corners) to make seem more appealing to the target audience. This wasn't helped by the bad presentation. She isn't a good spokesperson; too much pausing, hesitation and the language was too informal for me.

  • Your argument does not make any sense. Are you saying these things just to be different from the rest of the people who listened to the presentation. It is one of the best, if not the best presentation that I have seen on addiction. The reason the language is informal is for the general population to understand what is being said. She is not trying to appeal to any target audience. She is merely stating facts about addiction.

  • You missed the point, what you are using to

de value the presentation. It targeted the audience it was aiming for perfectly. You are not able to hear because your not in the pain, emotional pain, pain window is required to hear the solution.

  • I have worked with people in addictions for quite a few years and this is the best information I have ever seen. Very easy to understand. Thank you so much

  • God Bless You Teresa!

    You are diing G_d's work.

  • Wow, this was amazing

  • whats this lady got against bald people?

  • This lady is amazing...

  • what the... This is just wrong.. You have no idea how you are holding people back by making up shit and sticking religion into reality. Shame on you.

  • Thank you very much!

  • What the fuck is this? Drugs or religion? I wish someone took 1 good step to shut all these 12 step ignorant fanatics up!

  • Alot of people need religion to change there prospective on life. This lady knows what shes talking about.

  • i tryed to keep an open mind, but her fake care in the health and well being of man, was a thorn to my understanding, it is my fault for not listening but i just cant take hipocracy

  • I stopped watching when she said..."Ok let's look at Psalm 103:1-5". Ew. Becoming addicted to Christ in order to beat a drug addiction? I'd gladly smoke meth til the end of my days than become a "born again" Christian.....again. Yuck!

  • This was very enlightening.

  • shut the fuck up
