Faramir was sent everywhere to defend the outlying provinces around Mina's tirith but he didn't have the man power. He was then rescued by the knights of dol amroth and Denethor. Denethor was going to actively take part on the battle but he thought his son was deceased. So in the book he wasn't crazy
Very nicely done. Faramir was one of my favorite characters in the Lord of the Rings. I wish there could have been more focus on him and more time to explore his relationship with Eowyn.Great couple.They certainly deserved each other.Both rejected, lonely souls.
