  • It could be a lot worse - you could have David Cameron in charge; America would really be in the shit then. FYI - he is the Prime Minister of the UK and a totally useless waste of space. I watch your politics from afar and I actually think Obama is a good guy.Let's face it the Republicans are too left wing to deliver a society that is fair for every one in the US . Just the opinion of someone not living in the US - therefore not emotionally/economically affected by the politics.Give him a chance

  • I love our president.

  • Our clueless President at one point said that many people lost jobs due to 'huge advances in technology'. Well I guess alot of candle stick makers lost jobs when the lite bulb was invented. Obama mentioned 'many in your profession replaced by ATMs and the internet'. Does he not know that the internet has created incredible wealth for more people and has allowed buisnesses to expand and hire more people? Spends 4t in less than 3 years with nothing to show for it but a whole lot of whining.

  • @joskemom ... LOL, and if anyone knows a lot about whining, it's you.

  • The only thing Obama has done successfully is gin up division class warfare. He pits one group of Americans against another. Trying to bully his programs through is not getting the job done. Eviction date Jan 20, 2013.

  • @joskemom ... Class warfare began with Reagan when he cut taxes for the rich in half. Study your American history from the past 30 years.

  • @emantabrizi Hey snot nose college kid, I lived American history from the past 30 years. Carter left office with double digit inflation, high ass unemployment, high interest rate and an economy that was worse than what Obama got. Reagan dropped taxes for everyone. I remember seeing the difference in my paycheck and I sure as hell was not rich. Oh yea, he fixed the mess left by Carter in less than one term, the economy boomed and millions of jobs were added. Obama method = Greece outcome.

  • @joskemom ... Your memory is lacking then, old man. Unemployment under Reagan hit 10.8% in 1982. When Reagan was re-elected in 1984, unemployment was still 7.4%. What was our national debt when Reagan entered the White House? $980 billion. What was it when he left in 1989? $2.8 trillion. Obama's method? Obama's presidency looks just like Reagan's, except Reagan had a Congress that actually worked with him.

  • @emantabrizi Read the entire history young boy. Unemployment spiked up and then it went down, along with the inflation rate. Why do you think the country voted in Reagan and not re elect Cartor? It was a constant fight with Congress but Reagan was more of a statesman than Pres Oblama. What you dont read on your internet history was the sense of confusion Reagan had to undo and he won the nation over (2 terms) and his VP becoming Pres.--oh damn, I forgot to mention-the economy boomed.

  • @joskemom ... Yes, of course, unemployment spiked and then went down...just as it has under Obama. If Bush had been a one-term incumbent instead of two, he would not have been reelected in '08, just as Carter was not. So, judging by your silence regarding Reagan's tripling of the national debt, I can assume that you're okay with increasing the debt as long as the economy grows. Is that correct?

  • @emantabrizi Reagan added atleast 9.3 million jobs between 1981 and1986. GDP grew ave of 4.1% from '83-'86 and the double digit inflation droped to 1.9% in 1986. Everyone knows the reason the unempl now is 8.4 is because so many people no longer recieve the uneply benes and the seasonal hiring. The U6 number is double digit. Unemply under Bush avg less than 5% betw '-06 and 07 but your Bush comment is irrelavent. But, for once you are right, if the econ grows a deficit is managable.

  • @joskemom ... Unbelievable. So, the unemployment numbers under Reagan were real, but the numbers under Obama are fake? LOL, okay. So, what were the U6 numbers during Reagan's time in office? What's that? They weren't available back then? Oh. Unemployment was 7.8% when Bush left office. The average is irrelevant. The deficit is manageable if the economy grows? Well, the economy has grown every quarter since Q3 of 2009. So, again, what's the problem?

  • @emantabrizi You are dense. I never said the Obama numbers are fake, but they were explained even by the media, that is why no one is jumping up and down about this. We have had people who have gone past the 99 week extension. I used the word ave because space limits a detailed explaination, but it appears you need to be spoon fed. If you think this economy has been growing since 2009, try to explain that pure ignorance to people who have not found work since 2009. You think Obam is doing good?

  • @joskemom ... You are an endless bucket of BS. Just admit that you hate Obama. It's really as simple as that. Every bit of "evidence" you've attempted to use I've slapped back in your face. To prove it, look up the GDP numbers for the past two years. Yeah, exactly. Obama is not the problem in our government. Hardcore right- and left-wingers not wanting to compromise to get things done...THAT is the problem. You want to blame one man for everything? Blame God.

  • @emantabrizi Calm down, just because I show the failings of our Prez does not mean I hate him. Our lousy economy is all the 'evidence' you need to know this guy needs to be replaced and you just continue to ignore what everyone else knows--that is why 70% say the country is going in the direction. Everyone , but his diehard cheering secton, knows that Obama and his incompetence is the problem. One and done, no second term-America can not afford another 4 years of this madness.

  • What is Obama smoking? Americans have too much govt in their lives.Gov't making home ownership a civil right causing the crash,Bernie Madoff bribing bureaucrats to get away with fraud, gov't owns the college loan business. $1.5 trillion deficits per year, a record number of Americans on food stamps & 99 weeks of unemployment is not too little gov't. This President is divisive, & petty, it's always someone else's fault, not his. Obama calls for socialism in this speech-is he watching Europe?

  • @BlackRepublican2010 What are you talking about man? The reason people are unemployed is because they dont pay enough taxes... SIKE. I think whats sad is that once our president and congress raise tax rate, our 1% is going to pull out of american investments and invest in europe instead. So theoretically, europes economy will improve before ours does. On the bright side, once america has had enough socialism, we'll have nowhere left to go but to freedom.

  • @playaplayag7 ... Our top tax bracket today is 35%. Back in the '60s, it was 91%, and we experienced the greatest growth in GDP our nation has ever seen. Even at 91%, we still had millionaires and billionaires. So, no, the 1% isn't going to leave the States just because Obama raises their taxes to 40% (which isn't going to happen, anyway).

  • @emantabrizi In the 60's the tax rate could have been 100%, but noone paid it. The loopholes, writeoffs, and tax shelters insured that the wealthy did not have to worry about the stated tax rate. But now, when governments are desparate for long-term economic growth, a tax hike WILL present an opportunity for businesses to leave America for more profit. Raising taxes during economic recession is almost always bad for everyone. The government SHOULD run deficits but NOT raise taxes.

  • @emantabrizi Reagan ran deficits every year, but the economy grew. The congress during Reagan's years understood that growth could pay for programs, and that growth was only possible when investors had expendable income to take risk. Programs can be reduced with no reduction in benfits to the taxpayer. Housing foremost, but also, education, MEDICARE part D, Obamacare, farming gifts etc can ALL be cut without a reduction in benfits to beneficiaries and a reduction in taxation.

  • @emantabrizi You really dont get it. Why do you think, if life was so great, that Kenedy lowered the tax rate? That growth you celebrate was because he lowered taxes. When the wealthy approached hire tax brackets they purposely slowed their own expansion. 91% tax rate is just plain stupid. Who would work harder if they knew they would only get 9 cents for every dollare they earned? I 've seen workers back in the day, that would not work past certain OT hours cause it was not worth to them.

  • @BlackRepublican2010 ... Greece and Italy are not in trouble because of Socialism. They're in trouble because they've accumulated too much debt. Look at the United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland, Sweden, and Norway...all socialist countries with some of the healthiest economies in the world.

  • One ? How many people that sat through this diatribe were democrats, how many were independents, how many were republicans and how many were libertarians? I'm betting that 90% were his sheep and that's why they clapped and cheered so much. The ? is could he get those same results by giving this same speech to the rest of the Americans who are less easily con'd and who actually want a government that follows the Constitution rather than trashing it at every turn at the tax payer's expense?

  • @TMIAmerica ... This speech was given in Kansas, a.k.a. "The Bible Belt." There are no Democrats in Kansas. How does our government trash the Constitution? Please explain.

  • @TMIAmerica ... Care to provide an example of Congress going around the Constitution?

  • So this speech is a great push by our President to send us down the Euorpean road of govt dependancy. Lets have the non achievers enjoy the fruits of someone else's labor. His failed record is astounding, unemployment, more people on welfare in history, devauled and degraded dollar, a debt that has grown in trillions with nothing to show for and his answer is to blame, blame and join occupy wall street crowd and blame the rich and take from the rich to pay for his failed programs. Pathetic.

  • @joskemom ... Giving a tax-cut to the Middle Class will send us down the road of government dependence? Giving a tax-cut to the Middle Class will give non-achievers the fruits of someone else's labor? You really are just speaking out of your ass, huh?

  • @emantabrizi Learn to read, I did not say giving a tax cut will send us down hill, the entire Obama is based on govt dependancy. The payroll tax funds the soc sec, Obama want to replace that with taxing the higher earninings thus someone else pays another person's tax burden. Is economics a new concept to you? Obama wants income redistribuiton, duh.

  • Obama said on Thurs that a pending legislative package to extend the payroll tax cut and unemployment insurance will create more jobs than the 20,000 jobs min that would be created by the Keystone XL pipeline project. Our President is a complete defiance of economic logic. His energy policy is crap with all the money being wasted on 'soylandra' failures. 4 trillion dollars he added to the deficent and squat to show for it. We can not afford another 4 years of Pres Oblama.

  • @joskemom Finland keeps a military that can defend itself. You are talking about the nation that gave Russia the boot during world war 2. When they were done booting Russia they they turned around and threw Germany out of their country right out on their ass. My husband is a finnish NCO. Trust me they can take care of themselves up in the north just fine. They are not part of NATO they couldn't call us if they wanted to. They are also have the best education in the world.

  • @IsisOsiris7 Not only the best education, they also have medical coverage. My husband got a phd, he owes nothing for this. In the usa the son of a mechanic doesn't get a phd. In Finland, everyone has equal opportunity upon which to build a life. This is the essence of socialism a kind of fair play. Communism has failed, socialism is thriving. Capitalism has also failed though. Seems we should take some lessons from the northern nations.

  • @IsisOsiris7 Actually, the son of a mechanic or even one on welfare can get a PHd. In this country, contray to whiny opinion, you work hard and apply things can be achieved. We have the 'evil rich' who have built foundations, charities and programs that have helped and educated so this stupid idea you have that people cant strive in America is about as stupid as socialism being the best govt system or as about as stupid as saying Cap failed. The complainers and loosers will always been aound.

  • @IsisOsiris7 So, reivsionist history 101 says Finland gave Russia and Germany the boot in WW2. I guess the distraction of America destroying the German war machine had nothing to do with it. Well, I am glad you guys can take care or yourselves, gives us a rest as we defend the rest of the free world.

  • @joskemom ... President Bush added $6 trillion to our national debt. What do we have to show for it? Nothing good, and you idiots re-elected him. If Bush deserved a second term, then Obama absolutely deserves a second term.

  • @emantabrizi Do a fact check. I dont know what Obama comic book you got that crap from. Bush had unemployment down to 4.7% and his tax cuts created record revenues from the IRS. Let me say that in a way you can understand---Bush tax cuts increased the tax income. No to a second term because America can not afford another 4 years of this economic fiasco.

  • This lame ass speech of lie and blame is telling congress to extend the payroll tax cut. Well, the house will extend it as part of a package that will push for the Keystone XL pipeline-the project that will start at 20,000 jobs. Obama says no, he will veto the payroll cut bill if it has the Keystone pipe attached to it. He knows if he passes the Keystone project he looses the envirwacko vote-so to hell with the 20K jobs and the payroll cut, he just needs those votes. Pathetic.

  • Obama says the payroll tax cut should be extended or the sky will fall, yet, if giving the green light to the Canada pipeline is attached to extending the payroll tax cut bill, he will veto it. Ok, he will block a 20,000 job project rather than pass the cuts he says will save the economy. Same guy who shut down the gulf coast drilling and blewoff about 22,000 jobs and yea, the same guy who gave Brazil 2b dollars so that they could expand their oil program and make us their customer.

  • Bush was an idiot but at at least I knew who he was... Obama is a faker, after 3 years i still don't know who he really is.

  • bla bla bla.... Shut up Obama, and DO something. Then i can find the time to listen to your bla bla bla again. You lost my vote.

  • I only wish Obama had the balls to do the things he likes to talk about.

  • I wish I could trust Obama to act like he speaks. I wish I could. I wish I could.

  • Parts of this speech could have been made by Karl Marx. No one tells there kids work hard and you can get into the middleclass, we say work hard and you can be whatever you want to be or we tell them work hard and you can be rich. The DEMs and Obama are only about suppressed ambition--never in his speech does he mention to grow wealth. Obama believes that govt is to control how you progress in life because people left to their own devices will fail. Obama is the problem with the economy.

  • @joskemom No dear, socialism has never truly been applied. Communism has and communism failed. Communism and socialism are not the same thing. You are right communism failed. You are wrong socialism did not. As for what sunk Europe, sitting in europe with my european husband, the reason for Europe's problem is hardly socialism. It is, at the moment, nations like greece and italy have taken too much debt. Socialism did not force them to take this debt. Sweden and Finland are doing great.

  • @IsisOsiris7 Socialism failed everywhere it has been tried. It was tried by the Mayflower pilgrims and they had to dump it. It reduces the incentive for people to thrive to be the best they can be and it rewards the lazy by punishing the hardworkers. Europe is finding that out. As far as Sweden and Finland doing great-what is the population? a few thousand? We have states larger than those countries. Can they support and army that can actually defend themselves, or do they call US?

  • Trickle down does NOT work because people are selfish and greedy and don't care if the majority suffer. It's been nearly a decade since this last round of tax breaks for the wealthiest and where are the new jobs? Corporations are hoarding money rather than creating new jobs. . And for some unknown reason, people who are being betrayed by this powerful alliance, continue to vote republican. Wake up folks. They do NOT have your best interest in mind. They don't give a damn about you.

  • Amazing to see how many STUPID people commenting here. This FRAUD is campaigning like he did 3 years ago, he's a FAKE, WTF up!

"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." Norman Thomas

    (1884-1968) six-time Democrat U.S. Presidential candidate

  • @mikestheman3 Obama is a fraud. But socialism isn't. Look at Canada and Sweden.

  • @mikestheman3 First of all, socialism is NOT the dirty word you are pretending that it is. Communism, is i do think the word you are looking for. See definition of communism and socialism. They do NOT mean the same thing. You are right though, Obama is a fraud. We know that from the way he screwed his base and now wants our votes again by playing to the message of the 99%. He did that last time too. I am all for socialism, as in social justice. I am against Obama and all the republicans too.

  • @IsisOsiris7 Socialism failed everywhere it was tried. Have you noticed the financial meltdown in Europe? Hell, the Mayflower pilgrims tried socialism and they dumped it.

  • @joskemom ... LOL, do you just make this shit up?

  • note to haters...people are either asking for love or giving love.. i choose to give love.. God Bless the haters AND our President - he is your President too !!!

Great Speech - WE CAN"T GO BACK !!!! TRICKLE DOWN DOESN'T WORK !!!!

  • @mattski421 ... Right... Trickle down doesn't work, it never has, says Obummer.

It didn't end WWII... didn't build the Hoover Dam, or the Brooklyn Bridge, or the Empire State Building. Nobody at Eli Lilly has a good job, and Everyone that has ever worked for any auto mfg. is poor. It doesn't work.

Trickle down doesn't save lives, treat cancer, restore stroke and heart patients, nor does it cure pneumonia or chicken pox. It doesn't make your iPhone ring or your computer work.

    Idiot

  • @tazztt1 ... You're right: "Reaganomics" didn't build the Hoover Dam, the Brooklyn Bridge, or the Empire State Building. Tax dollars did. Regarding the rest of your list, "Reaganomics" has NOTHING to do with those things. Oh, and FYI, there is no cure for chicken pox. You're the idiot.

  • Obama acts as if he still has credibility.

  • President Barack Obama, Usually I would reserve the title "Mr." for a person of such a high office, but I am beginning to doubt whether you are a human at all. Rather, it seems to me, that you are a grotesque beast, multi-headed, spewing excrement from each mouth, a true political machine. I am sorry that I gave my support, my vote, to you in the last election, and hope deeply that your serpent tongue will be rent and dissected before the upcoming one. I am ashamed to call a being of such hypo

  • @Orchard6773 ... You consider 8.2% unemployment to be "great?" That was the unemployment rate when Obama took office. What is it today? 8.6%. Wow. Class warfare was started by Reagan when he gave the rich gigantic tax breaks. Class warfare has been taking its toll on the Middle Class for 30 years now. Fortunately, most Americans get it. That's why the majority (70%) support tax increases on the wealthiest 1% of Americans.

  • Our disaster in Chief says that passing this payroll tax cut is a make or break deal. I guess the failure of Obamacare, the failure of his cap and tax, the failure of his 898b stim bill, the failure of shovel ready jobs, the failure of is 'Solyndra' green companies, the failure of the Volt, and the failure of the debt commision crap does not measure to the 'crisis of the moment'. Obama's 'drama queen' speeches only impress Ed Show viewers.

  • @joskemom ... Speaking of "drama queen," what are you going on about? "Obamacare" hasn't even taken full effect yet. So, how can you call it a failure? "Cap & Trade" was never approved by Congress. So, you can't call that a failure if it was never given the chance to succeed. The stimulus package did exactly what it was intended to do. Therefore, it was a success. For every "Solyndra," there are five other companies that succeed. The Volt? What the hell does that have to do with Obama?

  • @emantabrizi Ocare has already driven up the cost of healthcare, where have you been? Cap and tax is dead in the water since he lost monopoly controll of both houses, which is good because it would further destroy whats left of the economy. The stim bill is a total failure-it was said if passed unemploy would not exceed 8%. We have lost jobs since then. Solyndra has failed and there are not 5 success for every solyndra. The govt pays GM to make the volt-it is sold for less than it is to make.

  • @joskemom ... Once the law takes full effect and people are no longer receiving free health care (as they do now), costs will go back down. Cap & Trade would not have destroyed the economy. Look-up the Clean Air Act of 1990. It was a form of cap & trade to reduce acid rain. It worked and didn't destroy the economy. The stimulus bill was passed when unemployment was already 8.2%. So, you're mistaken. The government doesn't pay GM to make the Volt. Where do you get this stuff?

  • @emantabrizi Stop drinking, Ocare is already a joke and the cost wont go down, duh. Cap and tax will never see the light of day because it is bufoonery. The stim bill failed on every measure- have you not notice the economy? The govt subsidise GM to build the Volt, without govt funding there is no Volt. We are trillions more in debt, more people than ever on welfare, more men not working than ever and Pres Oclueless pushing his class warfare into overdrive. 3 yearss of a mess.

  • @joskemom ... Put down the bong. If "Obamacare" is a joke, then what is your solution? Don't have one? Didn't think so. Cap & Trade has worked in the past. It will work in the future. Again, you have no evidence to back-up your claim regarding the stimulus. Without government subsidies, we don't have a lot of things in this country. The Volt was in development long before Obama was even elected. You're one of those idiots that blames the financial crisis of 2008 on Obama, huh?

  • @emantabrizi Repeal Ocare, allow insurance to be applied across state lines, put a cap on medical lawsuits and give tax credits to bizz that package certain coverage. Cap and tax has not been enforced yet and it wont be cause it is a job killer. Unemployment shot up as high as 10%, that right there is enough proff it failed, more people on welfare than ever, where have you been? This country has flourished without govt subsides, and Obama's Volt and smart car are going nowhere.

  • @joskemom ... What about those people without insurance who receive medical care in emergency rooms without paying for it? How do you solve that without an individual mandate? Unemployment hit 10.1% before the stimulus funds were distributed. The stimulus reduced that number to 8.8%. Therefore, it was a success. This country flourished when taxes were much higher than they are today. Once again, the Volt has nothing to do with Obama. Neither does the Smart car. Next...

  • @emantabrizi The country cycles go up and down but history shows the economy grew when tax rates were lowered (the 1920s, 1946, tax cuts by Kenedy, Reagan, and Bush.) Individual mandate is unconstitutional. GM was practically bought with tax payer money thus the Volt is a part of the Obama govt takeover. The volt is bult at a lost-only a govt would have such a stupid business model. Obama's push for solar and wind has cost the tax payer millions of lost dollars. Obama needs to be replaced ASAP

  • @joskemom ... Actually, it's the exact opposite. Bush Sr. and Clinton both raised taxes. The result? 23 million jobs created. The economy improves when taxes go up. Job growth increases, as well. The individual mandate has been upheld by several state supreme courts (and it was Newt Gingrich's idea). The Volt concept was introduced in 2007...two years before the bailout. Google it. If Obama doesn't push for alternative forms of energy, then China will win that race.

  • @emantabrizi Bush Sr. had a deal with congress that spending would be cut in a larger proportion if he would raise the tax. They lied to him. Tip O Neil promised spending cut to Reagan if he raised taxes. Tip lied. Clinton dealt with a rep congress who kept him in check and Clinton benefited from the IP boom. JFK explained to congress why he wanted to lower the tax rate---to expand the economy. There is not a direct ratio of economy growth with increasing taxes.

  • @joskemom ... What were the top tax brackets during the '60s? From 1960-1963, it was 91%. In 1964, it was 77%. From 1965-1969, it was 70%. It's no coincidence that annual GDP growth was in excess of 5%. It's funny how the Republicans lie everyday when they say that raising taxes on the richest 1% will kill job growth. It's funny because our nation's greatest decade of growth had a top tax bracket that was double the one we have today.

  • @emantabrizi What moron wants to pay 70 to 91% of their income to taxes? Why do you think John Kenedy lowered taxes? That decade, that you did no live in, had that growth because Kenedy pushed congress to lower taxes. How the hell do you think that taking more money from the job creaters is going to inspire them to expand bizz and hire more people? Hey, earn your own damn money and stop whining what people who are smarter and who work harder than you make. Obama shoud stop whining too.

  • @joskemom ... You don't get it, do you? If Americans were becoming millionaires and billionaires when the tax rates were double, then why are they struggling to create jobs today? 70% versus 35%...the "job creators" should be creating millions of jobs today! So, what's the problem?

  • @emantabrizi You are economically stupid. The number of the wealthy has grown greatly since the 60s. You did not address any of the issues I brought up, I guess because they require some thought and less reading. So, you dont see how Obama's polices are job killers and stunt the growth of our country. You dont see how overreaching regulation, the EPA, the rising cost of Obamacare, the changed credit system, the fiasco handling of the house market and the incompetance of Obama slows job growth?

  • @joskemom ... Wow, you're a fucking moron. Of course, the number of wealthy Americans has increased, especially over the last 30 years thanks to Reagan's "trickle-UP" economics. Oh, wait, that was supposed to be "trickle-DOWN," wasn't it? The Middle Class has disappeared and the wealthy have become wealthier. If you cannot start a company when the top tax rate is 35%, how on Earth did companies get started when the rate was 70%? Corporate profits are at record levels. Wake up.

  • @emantabrizi Once again, your ignorance of economics is astoundng, your classless rude potty mouth is expected from a person of your mindset. I dont have the time or the space to help you out especially when you go off the deep end. The middle class has not disappeared-if we have more rich people where the hell do you think they came from. Unlike you, people with purpose, guts, and vision will always start a bizz-no mater what the bizz climate. If Obama was a CEO, he would be fired by now.

  • @joskemom ... So, calling me stupid is classy where you're from? I was polite until you started calling names. So, get off your high horse. Obviously, you DO have the time and space to dribble all your biased nonsense. I noticed you stopped mentioning the Volt and Smart car. Hopefully, that means you figured-out how to use Google, and you now realize how stupid you were for attempting to use those two to demonize the President. What else ya got? :-)

  • @emantabrizi Why beat a dead horse? It is not necessary to show the failing of Volt and the Smart car because no one is buying them. Without mony from the govt the Volt is history. Ask the bond holders who the Pres cheated if taking over GM ws a good thing. Are you hearing voices, I never said calling you stupid was classy , I mentioned your use of the 'F' bomb is expected of you. But damn, you do display a lack of basic economic understanding.

  • @joskemom ... It's not beating a dead horse. It's proving the point that you'll use ANYTHING to knock-down the President. You'll even resort to using things that have NOTHING to do with him. It's a cheap tactic, and one that is used by simpletons such as yourself. You really should stop pretending you know the first thing about economics after stating earlier in this thread that the Pilgrims used socialism. LOL!!!

  • @emantabrizi Did you forget the multi billion dollar bailout of GM-hence the name 'govt motors'? The govt actually will pay people to buy the Volt. The Pres is an academic who does not have real excuitve experience nor has bizz experience-and the country is paying for it. Obama doens not have much left but alot of blaming. As for the Pilgrims, what, you read the history of the Pilgirms, William Bradford, and the original contract they had with their London based sponsors?

  • @emantabrizi The cofounder of Home Depot says who could not start his company in this business envirement undert Obama. Hey, why dont you ask him why he thinks that? Your employee mindset that you have been groomed for can not grasp what it takes to start and run a buisness. Raising taxs on capital formation reduces the rate of capital formation, raising taxes on income reduces the incentive to work.

  • @emantabrizi The individual mandate along with other parts of the Obama care has been overruled by state supreme courts and there is further lidgation. It is set to be argued at the Supreme Court next year. Even the admin has already taken out the CLASS Act out of Ocare which makes Ocare about 80B more expensive. What race? It is not the job of the govt to pick and chose which indust to support (Solyndra crap) and which to destory. You do know GM is subsidized by taxpayer money, right?

  • @joskemom ... That's true, but for every state supreme court that has struck-down the law, another state supreme court has upheld the law. We'll see what the federal Supreme Court has to say. What race? Solyndra crap? The race for alternative forms of energy. Solar panels are NOT crap. Remember when the U.S. used to make things? We have the opportunity to become a manufacturing powerhouse once again in the quickly-developing green-energy industry. That's a race we need to win.

  • @emantabrizi The Supreme Court or repeal from the next Pres and congress. Ocare is in shambles. There is no race for alt energy-that is an Obama slogan catch phrase. Spain almost went bankrupt going green, Canada has droped out of the Koyoto crap thing and China builds solar panels for less than what we make them for. Solyndra, Evergreen, and Fisker in Finland are just a few examples of the 'green' energy tax payer money going down the drain. You are the mush mind that Obama appeals to.

  • @joskemom ... So, you're okay with China continuing to build everything while all of America's manufacturing jobs go overseas. I am NOT okay with that. Those jobs shouldn't be going overseas. They should stay here in the U.S.A. That's okay, though. Cheaper labor overseas = bigger profits for corporations = fewer jobs here in America. Great. You are exactly the "mush mind" the GOP appeals to.

  • @emantabrizi American manufacturing is going overseas because Amer corp tax is one of the highes in the world and it is hard for them to compete. Also ,the out of control regulation of the bizz climate drives the corps out. This is nothing new and it has been said over and over again for years--you act like you never heard this. Just read a basic economic book- I said book, because you take data and go off on the wrong tangent. Raisng taxes does not even address that problem.

  • @emantabrizi The housing market crash is a result of Pres Carter's housing program that was amped up by Clinton that forced banks to make these bad loans. Barney Frank, Chriss Dodd, Franklin Reigns ran the program and when the rep saw the coming disastor and tried to stop in 2006, they had already lost the house and DEMs led by Barney said there is nothing wrong with the fani/fredie/ program and they kept it going (including Obama). Just do basic math, jobs were lost after the stim bill passed.

  • @joskemom ... What about the deregulation of Wall Street investment firms such as Lehmann Bros? How are you going to blame that on Democrats? Just do basic math? How about you do some basic research? Unemployment prior to Obama's stimulus: 10.1%. Unemployment today: 8.6%.

  • @emantabrizi The housing market fell because govt forced banks to make these bad loans--Chriss Dodd, Barney Frank, and Franklin Raines were responsible for this disaster. Barney told congress there was nothing wrong with Fani/fred program and ofcourse the rest is history. In 2006 the Rep tried to stop the program but the Dems outvoted them. Unemployment hit 10% after the stim bill, do your homework. Seasonal hiring and workers off unemply insurance dropped the unemployment rate.

  • You need to ask, why didnt Obama give this speech 2 years ago. The answer is because he is just spinning crap to get re elected. All talk as usual from this joke.

  • @Darklightau Doesn't matter who gives the speech......all that matters is that that it makes sense.....the system is rigged.

  • Obama is a FAKE. He IS a Republican.

  • @RBLA818 ... Last time I checked, Republicans want tax CUTS, not tax INCREASES, for the wealthy.

  • @emantabrizi In that case you should look at what Obama does Not what he says!

He went along with the continuation of the Bush Tax Cuts without even a fight!!!!

And same thing with just about every other issue.

  • @RBLA818 ... If he hadn't compromised a year ago on the Bush tax cuts, then they would have expired, and taxes would have gone up for everyone. He was thinking about the big picture, not the short-term political gain (or loss, most likely).

  • @emantabrizi It was mostly unemployment and DADT for why he passed it.

  • @emantabrizi Yeah, he's always thinking of The Big Picture of WALL STREET who put him there and why he has surrounded himself with Wall Street Clowns.

  • @RBLA818

I wouldn't say there was no fight. He did so in compromise. In exchange for those tax cuts he got the passage of the end of DADT & the new START Treaty with Russia.

  • More rhetoric. Obama has done little to help anyone other than his campaign donors and Wall Street. He's maintaining the dismantling of the Constitution started by Bush and Cheney. He's assassinated US citizens, and failed to bring Bin Laden to justice by muderering and then disposing of the body in dubious manner. He's a shill for corporate interests and his actions prove he doesn't give a damn about anyone not giving him tons of money. But he talks a good game. Too bad he's full of shit.

  • @mexcurmudgeon ... The only justice bin Laden deserved was a bullet shot from the gun of a United States soldier. Obama said during his campaign that killing (not arresting) Osama bin Laden was his number one priority. Also, Anwar al-Awlaki was not a U.S. citizen. He renounced his citizenship years ago.

  • I really hope I'm not just being a stupid optimist when I say this:

But I think the reason why Obama's first term has been so tepid is because he was thinking about his re-election prospects, so he didn't want to step on the toes of anyone who might potentially pump money into his campaign.

But now, with the rise of the Occupy Protests I think he's starting to realize that if he delivers results, the base that elected him four years earlier, will gladly support him again.

  • more campaign BS.. If he truly cared about the middle class he would of ended the militarism, ended forign aid, not signed even more FTA, and not kept us in the WTO. He is doing what his donors tell him to do and is no different than Bush in mine eyes.

  • @IamYoddle ... Why would you want the United States to no longer be a part of the World Trade Organization?

  • @emantabrizi because the WTO only helps to allow US businesses to outsource labor and production and exploit foreign workers. FTA's are a negative for the average person and a boon only to multinational corporations.

  • I really do think this was just a campaign speech.

It's been three years and NOW he talks like this?

He is so lucky the Republican party has nothing but jokes this coming presidential election.

  • @ElviAlivE ... He's been talking like this the entire time he's been in office.

  • @emantabrizi I disagree.

When he fills his speeches with rhetoric he also slides in working and compromising with the other party.

Only now he chooses to learn from his mistakes.

    How convenient.
