i think these chain punches are one of the hardest techniques, even a single wing chun punch, is hard to learn, but if learned and done correctly, you will have a powerful weapon!

@merclessmurder Wing Tsun is a deviation from Wing chun. It was invented by Leung Ting, he was having problems with Yip Man and decided to invent another branch of this style and renamed it Wing tsun. Leung Ting claims hist art is the real deal and that it is just a pronounciation issue. Very far from the truth. Cuz there are only 2 different ways to say it Wing Chun in Cantonese and Yong chun in Mandarin. Wing chun is a traditional martial art. Wing Tsun is just lame. Greetings from Mexico.

I think gaarafan is right, I just started taking lessons from someone and they repeated this same story. I think one punch could be enough to end a fight despite what the history channel said. There's a lot of pressure points on the body. With the straight punch, the most obvious is the solar plexus or neck. No matter how tough someone is, the vital spots are the same.

Anyone can kick someone in the balls or poke them in the eyes, that requires no skill, and poses extreme danger. It is used by people who do not have the ability or courage to defeat an opponent without cheating. Those things should typically only be used in life or death situations.
lol, 99% of the time fighting is not a life or death situation. People get in fights all the time, typically due to some dominance struggle but not always. I have seen a bunch of fights where someone attacks someone else, wins or loses, someone gets hurt and basically pwned, and thats the end. Rarely is it ever life or death, although to say it never is, would be an incorrect statement too.

THE animation focuses on wrong thing. I do train Wing Chun kung self, and we hit with the all knockles(3 down knockles mainly). And also we generate power by mooving the albow up. The animation seems to use wrong muscles, and also they bring the arm in a circle moovement that is wrong..

Bruce's Physique is phenomenal and it has been noted by a lot of body builders etc that he did have the best conditioned body ever seen on a person. I hate MMA and the modern idea of what martial arts is supposed to be but that doesn't mean that there aren't guys who practice a variant of such that could waste me or anyone else posting here. The opposite is true as well. There are traditionalists that could destroy people easily.
You could have a skilled person from the art of WC versus an average MMA fighter or vice versa, the outcome wont be the same. You cant substantiate your claims from just some videos of amateurs or possibly a pro match or two. It just goes to show the skill of the FIGHTER in a given situation not the style. Given a street fight, anything goes and im pretty sure a MMAist would have the same difficulty fending off an enemy or more.

Bruce's "opponents" were all no-named bums. None of his fights were caught on video (despite him being a movie star and "challenges" occurring on movie sets) or even documented. They change from person to person. His only named opponent was Won Man Jack, but Bruce refused to fight in a public forum and the account of the fight was contested by Wong. Bruce did respond to his contention in a Chinese newsletter/newspaper. Bruce was not some badass street warrior. Quit buying the myth.

ChiSao trains from the perspective of sensitivity and structure, A Wing Chun exponent is able to feel, CREATE and exploit openings so that when he/she DOES attack, its usually to an opponent who is unable to resist - because they have their arms trapped, or are off the centreline of attack.
You may be a Muay Thai exponent or merely a Youtube blackbelt, but you should respect all styles.
You don't feel openings because THERE'S NO CONTACT -- thus rendering the drill completely useless. On top of that, the stance is completely wrong for combat and the participants don't even hit each other.

It was invented by Leung Ting, he was having problems with Yip Man and decided to invent another branch of this style and renamed it Wing tsun. Leung Ting claims hist art is the real deal and that it is just a pronounciation issue. Very far from the truth. Cuz there are only 2 different ways to say it Wing Chun in Cantonese and Yong chun in Mandarin. Wing chun is a traditional martial art. Wing Tsun is just lame. Greetings from Mexico.

I think gaarafan is right, I just started taking lessons from someone and they repeated this same story. I think one punch could be enough to end a fight despite what the history channel said. There's a lot of pressure points on the body. With the straight punch, the most obvious is the solar plexus or neck. No matter how tough someone is, the vital spots are the same.

lol, 99% of the time fighting is not a life or death situation. People get in fights all the time, typically due to some dominance struggle but not always. I have seen a bunch of fights where someone attacks someone else, wins or loses, someone gets hurt and basically pwned, and thats the end. Rarely is it ever life or death, although to say it never is, would be an incorrect statement too.

But, if we were to poll people, from any area at the age of 30+, and ask how many fights they have been in, i can guarantee the average would be at minimum 3. Now compare that with cause of death records and see if people dying from fighting matches the amount of people who have fought atleast once in their life. doubt more than 1% of people die in fights, probably not even close to that.

THE animation focuses on wrong thing. I do train Wing Chun kung self, and we hit with the all knockles(3 down knockles mainly). And also we generate power by mooving the albow up. The animation seems to use wrong muscles, and also they bring the arm in a circle moovement that is wrong..

Bruce's Physique is phenomenal and it has been noted by a lot of body builders etc that he did have the best conditioned body ever seen on a person. I have nothing else to say at the moment other then how ignorant people can be and I'm not just pointing this at kommisar. Grow some balls people. Face it, there is no better martial art, fighter's skill. You cant dismiss one like it was never created when it has so much history behind it also.

To simplify another: judge the artist, not the art.
I hate MMA and the modern idea of what martial arts is supposed to be but that doesn't mean that there aren't guys who practice a variant of such that could waste me or anyone else posting here. The opposite is true as well. There are traditionalists that could destroy people easily.

You cant substantiate your claims from just some videos of amateurs or possibly a pro match or two. It just goes to show the skill of the FIGHTER in a given situation not the style. Given a street fight, anything goes and im pretty sure a MMAist would have the same difficulty fending off an enemy or more.

Oh yes, I did not say that the WC videos are wrong - I merely said they don't tell the 100% story behind chinese MA. WC and other chinese kung fu are originally closed-door arts, there's no way videos will show 100% of it, Praying Mantis style, and many others.

What's your point on these videos now that I've seen them? They're just more dumb WC videos. It's always the same thing with WC: it's either that gay hand drill or them doing routines with compliant "opponents". They never seem to have a pair of balls and do something relevant like sparring or (gasp) fighting.

Bruce Lee was challeneged many, many times on the sets of his movies by fighters of all styles.
If you search Youtube you might even find out the result of these challenges.
WC is effective, like ANY other style, is its practised diligently.

Bruce's "opponents" were all no-named bums. None of his fights were caught on video (despite him being a movie star and "challenges" occurring on movie sets) or even documented. They change from person to person. His only named opponent was Won Man Jack, but Bruce refused to fight in a public forum and the account of the fight was contested by Wong. Bruce did respond to his contention in a Chinese newsletter/newspaper. Bruce was not some badass street warrior. Quit buying the myth.

Cams wernt popular in lees time &moive film was 2expensive.Lees fights probably lasted under 10 seconds.A chinese paper was offering 2pay $1 million 2anyone who defeated him. Plenty tried, nobody succeded. Wong was a soar loser & Lee knew that the only thing that would shut the loser up, was loss of life, which he wasnt about 2do. I know how WC works, because I have over 5yrs experience with it, which includes many heavy contact sparring sessions with high level artists of various styles, most of which were stronger & 50+ lbs heavier. Scoot is 2keep contact w/ground long as possible 2avoid instability & loss of power transmission when striking.Squared stance = all limbs can reach opp(equal distance)@any time without footwork=faster response.Also easier to sidestep in either direction equally.There is Pivoting.There is hip turns.There is other footwork types.However,nothing as instable & dangerous as boxer footwork.A boxers lead leg would b broken in 1sec when fighting a decent kicker.

Heres a quick lesson that illustrates whats wrong with your argument...
ChiSao trains from the perspective of sensitivity and structure, A Wing Chun exponent is able to feel, CREATE and exploit openings so that when he/she DOES attack, its usually to an opponent who is unable to resist - because they have their arms trapped, or are off the centreline of attack.
You may be a Muay Thai exponent or merely a Youtube blackbelt, but you should respect all styles.

No contact in the chisao drill? Rubbish, the drill trains you to do it - maintain contact with the opponent and control them.
No good on a boxer? Boxers rely heavily on power and forward/round movement - The more exaggerated the movement, the greater the advantage for a wing chun exponent.
I think its immoral for ANY style to charge money and not show how to utilize a style effectively. If someone doesnt learn it correctly, thats hardly the fault of the art itself...

Yes, it's very easy to claim boxing is shit and easy for the chunner to exploit, but then you have the fact that WC isn't used in NHB fighting where there are no rules, WC can't make it on the competitive circuit and WC loses to countless, non-KF styles.
It would appear that all WC instruction is immoral then, judging by the widespread incompetence of the practitioners.

Just because you dont see it in the video, doesnt mean it speaks for the style. I train Chisao and can assure you hitting is involved - If you can.
And what garbage about WC not making it on the competitve circuit. People have fighting for their very EXISTENCE with this style for 100's of years.
You dont see it in NHB fighting for the same reason you dont see it in other tournaments - The style has to be watered down so much to make it safe enough, that its simply not worth it.

Damo, I have seen tons of patty cake videos, including those done by high-ranked masters, and in not ONE of these was real hitting involved. In fact, I've seen it where they not only pull their punches they misdirect them so as not to hit the other guy. How the fuck does intentionally missing help you in real combat???
NHB has almost no rules. WC can't live with no eye gouges, bites and fish hooks? I don't see them doing this on each other, so I don't see how this would stop WC in NHB.

Get this clear - 'gung fu' has a history spanning over 4000 years, underwent lots of changes then, through experimentation by lots of Chinese gung fu disciples, instructors, etc etc. It's all in pen and paper, and also passed down from person to person.
