  • Go Fred! Tell the story! I remember this station.

  • Gosh I didn't think there were any of those old RCA TTU-series still around. I ran a TTU30 back in the early 1970s. You're going to save a lot of money not boiling water with those old inefficient klystrons.

  • Nice piece of vintage equipment

  • Goodbye WLIO Forever Rest In Peace

    1972-2009

  • Goodbye analog TV! Digital is "supposed" to be better, but I didn't find that to be the case for a few stations on lot of differently located sets with differing converter boxes and antenna set ups. Oh well.

It was nice to see that someone cared enough to make a little "sign off" video. Only one station around these parts bothered to sign off, the rest just dropped off the air without saying a word.

I've got video of each shutdown that I've thought about editing together...

  • SOMETHING SAD ABOUT IT..not sure why it needed to happen at all really but...

  • Lovely celebration, really nice. Thanks for sharing.

  • The End Of The Era.

  • My brain is still analog!

Can you help with that Fred?

  • I can't help but think of that old line from politics, "are you better now than 8 years ago?" My digital cellphone, my TW digital phone, IBOC, you name it. Me thinks sometimes high tech is not the answer.
