A 5 round fight is too long for Rashad to have any chance, in my opinion. His chin is suspect as of late (KO'd by Machida, rocked by both Thiago and Rampage) and given 25 minutes I can't see Shogun NOT knocking him out. Plus, Shogun has a godly chin so any standup exchanges (ie start of round) are a major risk for Rashad but not so much for Shogun.
@bjapan96 Machida was just a temporary holder of the title Forest Griffin was. Shogun is the true champ and will be there for a long time. Shogun arguably won their first fight and definitively destroyed Machida in their second fight. It is Shogun's title and there is little Machida can do to get it back.

After watching Machida destroy Sugar Rashad, you have to take into account that Quinton Jackson is very different from Lyoto Machida. Almost opposite, Machida thrives off of being technical and patient while Rampage thrives off of Strength and Athletisicm. Who will win between Evans and Jackson. I really don't know. I'm pulling for Quinton Jackson though.

He probably also practised more traditional aswell, which is very common to do, but his stand-up style is from kumite. Btw..the knock-out sequens Vs Evans, was more traditional boxing/kickboxing and not WKF kumite style. His "light and fast kicks", sweeps, 1-2-3, frontkick-punch etc, typical WKF rules style

Just 2, but all kumite fighters from ok to best, use same distance, some punch-attacks, Machidas combinations are standard too. From it comes the distances, the counter yaku-zuki, the 1-2-3 attacks. Its very easy to see he is an ex-kumite (and the first in UFC of any mentionable quality). View videos here with fighters like Dwayne Otto and that Azerbadsjan guy and you will see "Machida Style", in pure kumite.

Yeah thats the truth and those are typical karate movements. Even though Machida has done Muay Thai and BJJ his fighting at the core is shotokan karate which makes him something out of the ordinary coz for most people to go in an MMA fight and fight like that would be suicide but he manages to pull it off. Shogun arguably won their first fight and definitively destroyed Machida in their second fight. It is Shogun's title and there is little Machida can do to get it back.

That's true, but because of Rampage's power people forget that he is also a good wrestler. After watching Machida destroy Sugar Rashad, you have to take into account that Quinton Jackson is very different from Lyoto Machida. Almost opposite, Machida thrives off of being technical and patient while Rampage thrives off of Strength and Athletisicm. Who will win between Evans and Jackson. I really don't know. I'm pulling for Quinton Jackson though.

larryz101. Your assumption about what Machida does is wrong. Machida was one of the best +80 kumite-fighters in Brazil (point karate....in-and-out). He probably also practised more traditional aswell, which is very common to do, but his stand-up style is from kumite. Btw..the knock-out sequens Vs Evans, was more traditional boxing/kickboxing and not WKF kumite style. His "light and fast kicks", sweeps, 1-2-3, frontkick-punch etc, typical WKF rules style

That was supposed to be Wayne Otto (the tribute have been removed it seems) and the Azerb guy is Rafael Aghayev. Just 2, but all kumite fighters from ok to best, use same distance, some punch-attacks, Machidas combinations are standard too. Difference is, of course, this is MMA, so Machida is a little better classical boxer + a lot better groundfighter.

For those claiming that Machidas karate is impossible to spot..Machidas karate is very easy to spot. He is a kumite-fighter (or point fighter as Rogan pointed out). From it comes the distances, the counter yaku-zuki, the 1-2-3 attacks. Its very easy to see he is an ex-kumite (and the first in UFC of any mentionable quality). View videos here with fighters like Dwayne Otto and that Azerbadsjan guy and you will see "Machida Style", in pure kumite.

Yeah thats the truth and those are typical karate movements. Even though Machida has done Muay Thai and BJJ his fighting at the core is shotokan karate which makes him something out of the ordinary coz for most people to go in an MMA fight and fight like that would be suicide but he manages to pull it off. The leg sweeps are karate, the snapy punches are karate punches, his forward, backward and side movements are karate.Kata is practiced to preserve the tradition and alot of mma fighters practice kata, like Chuck Lidell who also has a karate background even GSP. Im not saying karate is the best style out there no...what im saying is machida uses karate as well as other styles but is still a karate fighter at the core and considers himself such so why argue with what the man himself says?
