Poor Jacob, he needed better dialog. But I did like how he sized up everyone who came on-board the Normandy. In many ways he behaved more like your xo than Miranda.

His personal mission with his dad was crazy though. I kept wondering why Bioware didn't allow us to come up with a gas grenade like the one we used on Feros in ME1? Shepard should have had the option to save those people, not gun them down.

I don't get me started on the fact that they shouldn't have had thermal clips.

Plus he's pretty rude at times. There's nothing to him beyond his job that he'll show me. The closest I felt to him was when he said he felt good and that if we survived we'd get some drinks on the citadel.

Also, after the first few missions, I usually take Grunt and Jack with me. Jack is complex, but she has a soft side. Samara is so hard to get to. What you said about Jacob is how I feel about Miranda. There was a scene where I had to choose between her and Jack and I had to go with the bad girl. Miranda is self centered feels obligated to cerebrus
