In the movie they dubbed the sound of the bike. If you listen, and they mention it, it never 'changes' gear, just keeps revving. Thats called dubbing. Duh
Should of built it around a sport bike instead of a chopper. Sport bikes have a smoother sound when they ride, instead of that popping noise with your chopper. Still a great bike though :)
Amazing! So guys build the original Bat Pod for the movie? Awesome! Where is your shop located? Reason I ask is, last month, I saw the "Pod" just like this in San Mateo, CA. Could it be? We were standing around, hoping "Batman" would show up. =) lol What kind motor you put in there, just wondering...
It handles better than it appears in some of the videos. It did take some getting use to and it actually manuvers very well, the owner we built it for has hundreds of city miles on it, and enjoys every second of it. His opinion is what really counts!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HOPE SANTA BRINGS ME ONE FOR CHRISTMAS !!:) LOL Wish I had the money to commission one of those pods from you guys. That thing is awesome!!!!!
OK seriously.....you couldn't have shot the video from a CAR. The vibration makes this video unwatchable. Love the view of the back tire 99% of the time. How about some side shots and front view?
There are many videos of the Pod, not just this one. We shot the video in many fashions; motorcycle following, back of vehicle, on the ground, etc. Look around our videos you'll see everything you can imagine
Wow, I think the crow-bar has never been in our wallet, it flows free!

Lots of other angles within many videos.

Outstanding work! This is what makes these hardcore builders great. They see something in a movie and say "we could build that". And then they do. Keep up the good work guys.
So it seems the vibes from the engine actually bend the road and this shakes the camera in the car behind ... impressive ...

Amazing bike, and definitely the perfect compliment to any hard-core Dark Knight collection. May I inquire upon what it cost?

While it looks true to the movie vehicle, I only wish to know why is the riding position upright instead of leaning forward?
Namord 1 year ago
@Namord
You can ride it like Batman, the man in the video is our Builder Dave Welch, he has
a fused neck from arthritis, he cannot lay down to ride, he wouldn't be able to see.
The owner rides it in a more lay down postion.
Thank you for your comment

@choppercityUSA i suppose it's better to have him doing the test ride than you doing the test ride, with your parkinson's and all..

was there another engine you could use to make the bike more quiet? In the movie it did not sound like a V twin harley.

We built the one your saw in San Mateo, CA that is the area our customer lives.
Chopper City USA is in Orange Park Florida Northeast coast of Florida
We used a 850cc Aprilia drivetrain. We did not build the one for the movie, only this one after the movie! It's great!!

should be automatic gearbox ehehe
BAKARDAN1 1 year ago
@BAKARDAN1
It does have an automatic gearbox
We used an Aprilia Mana drivetrain, which is automatic. Thought that would be best for the riding stance, not to have to shift gears

i think most of us would like one of these as it's probably the coolest vehicle i've seen in a movie since the cargo lift thingy in aliens
