  • been fuckin awesome if he landed on ll 4 tires and kept going

  • I was there when this happened, you could see his car from the tri-oval.

  • Sadler is so unlucky

    -_-

  • @Mrinsane932: Your timing for this comment is exquisite -- Not more than 45 minutes after your comment on Sunday afternoon, Kurt Busch got into Elliott Sadler at the Pocono 500, turning him into the inside barrier in a crash so violent, it ejected the engine... And he walked away again.

ESPN analyst and former crew chief Tim Brewer said it was the most violent crash he's witnessed in 40 years.

  • i remember watching this my dad hated kurt and was cussing at the tv fiery mad and it was impossible for him to control his anger and i know kurt did nothing wrong. no one did

  • I just noticed that the windshield almost comes off...

  • loved watching elliot he could never keep his car onthe track , lol

  • yea he crashed about 3 times there.

  • hes lik going ouhhhhh and the feald ar saying oh oh and his eyes are closed and hes going ouhhh ouhhhhh

    Imo Lol

  • Poor sadler didnt he like flip 2 years in a row at talladega? Kensenth also had a nationwide series wreck like this.

  • lol how many times has he flipped here?

  • This crash was ok.......The most horrific crash in my opinion was Russell phillips in 95' at charlotte! I've seen a lot of crashes in motorsports since the 60's but Russell{rip} was sickening to me!!

  • I remember this crash. Was one heck of a race that day, but I forgot who won it.

  • wow

  • Thats what happens when you try to open a bag of M&Ms doing 180mph!

  • I never realized how high he got up.

  • @normalboy64: Yes -- You can tell from the shadow from the helicopter shot.

  • i was front row when this happened.....almost directly in front of me....typically at talladega the front row is the worst seat in the house cuz ya cant see a lot of the track but i promise you i saw every bit of this. its as real as it gets. trust me. P.S. BEST THING ABOUT TALLADEGA IS THE PARTY THE NIGHT BEFORE. you havent lived until you camp out the night before the race. biggest party on earth. 200,000 drunk rednecks

  • nasty crash!

  • pause at 0:12. amazing. thank god he was ok!

  • awesome

  • THAT'S AMAZING!

  • Oh, yes it was real: Many tens of thousands witnessed it right in front of the Talledega grandstands they were sitting in.

  • well, at least we wont have to worry about those types of flips with the COT cars (although it takes some of the excitement out of the sport)

  • bull, last year during practice a driver flipped a COT car

  • and in qualifying at TX last year

  • well actually twice, and almost a third

  • what "theNERD1213" is talking about is a blowover cause the air got under the car and thats what fliped it, last year when micheal mcdowl hit the wall and fliped durring qualifying the air had nothing to do with flipping the car, but it was still a scary crash

  • he ment a blowover not a flip from hitting a wall and there will not be a blowover from COT cars

  • you mean qualifying. michael mcdowell. and casey mears at california.

  • Was that the Mcdowell crash?

  • Comment removed

  • Gotta have fans in the grandstands... And carry an insurance policy, too. Yeah, I know: 230 in IRL & 240 in CART are long gone.

Tony Renna's fatal wreck at Indy practice was the REAL tipping point: Car passed right through catchfence. Grandstands closed. Almost no news coverage, too. TG one lucky guy.

  • Well, all of the excitement of the sport that once was is now gone because Brian France is a FUCKING IDIOT.

  • look up Micheal McDowell at Texas qualifying last year, hit the wall and flipped somewhere between 8-13 times.

  • why does everyone think its impossible to blow over with a cot if the situation is right there is still the chance of a blowover

  • I bet you changed you opinion about the COT after what happened on Sunday huh??

  • No, I didn't. COT done goe'd airborne Really Good, too! :)

  • he almost lost the wind shiield at :38

  • restrictor plate rox! they ruined it wit da car o' 2morow

  • nooo, they didnt.. they are on avg, 10mph faster in the draft and almost 20 mph faster at the cookie cutter tracks.

  • k... that couldnt be farther from the truth. theyre slower on the cookie cutter tracks. by ALOT.

  • prooof thta slow-mo makes crashes look so good

  • this proves just how tough nascar drivers are. how many other people would have gotten back in a car to race again after that?

  • I Like The 2003 Season Of Nascar!

  • Wow, I'm the first to comment in 6 months? Anyway, notice at 0:06, his right front tire blows just from touching the grass, lol.

  • wouldn't that be awesome if he landed right back on all 4 tires after flippin once

  • i was there when this crash happened but it was hard to see cause i was on the far west side of the stands

  • look at the first 2 cars. exactly like dale sr.'s daytona crash

  • elliot sadler my boy

  • cant stand that fat face spencer

  • go jeff lol

  • im surprised that the car didint cath fire

  • ristrictor plates make good racing

  • Agreed

  • The good part and the bad part of restric plate:

Good part: They are slower... So it's made less G's and less domage to the car.

    Bad part: Car are closes...

  • Thats good because its makes for better racing

  • WALL.......THATS RACING

  • it was the fall EA Sports 500....go to nascar's website if u dont believe us

  • the fall 2003 race. i have this on tape, michael waltrip had a pretty cool celebration after this win! It was also his latest win.

  • It really was.

  • Ouch it looked like that would have hurt.

  • he reacted to 8car going left if jr wasnt there he wouldnt of flipped

  • you mean the 97, he reacted to the 8 but 97 was the one who flipped him

  • OMG this was the first full race I watched I was 12 at the time and I liked the cars cause I had a lot of toy cars from when I was like 7 and I found the race and scince then I have been a loyal NASCAR fan.... thanks for the vid.....

  • what the hell is wrong with you? i they go 75 m.p.h. go watch cars on the highway.

  • these here guys should slow down to 75 mph!!!!1

  • and did restrictor plates keep him from going airborne? obviously not. What has racing come to?

  • thats not what its for just reduces speed to have to u hit wall at 190 instead of 210 the flaps on car are made to help keep the car down

  • If there wasnt a restrictor plate on that car, it would have gone a lot higher and flipped way more viciously...

    ...Damn restrictor plates

  • I'm with you. Move the grandstands back & let `er rip!

  • It was the fall race

  • this was the fall

  • WHAT A AWSOME FLIP!

  • eh discpad! this was the fall 2003 Winston Cup Race.

    not the spring

  • No, it was the spring, dude.

  • Fall. Michael Waltrip won this race. Junior won in the spring.

  • wrong. it was the spring race. i was there. "spring" is still a stretch. that weekend it was about 95 degrees with a heat index of about 500!!! barely a cloud in the sky for 2 days. and the humidity was insane! worst sunburn ive ever had but oh so worth it.

  • wow

  • Thanks

  • i remeber seeing that, crazy

  • Dudes: Elliot Sadler walked away from the wreck! He was bruised and sore; but he raced the next weekend. Sadler was actually scheduled to appear on this same "Inside Winston Cup" show, but decided at the last minute to stay home. This was announced on the show at another point, i.e. not in this clip.

  • ya, he was fine, that was in the fall race not the spring race

  • he lived right? after all that...he lived!dale earnheart took WAY less damage and see what happend to him???!!!

  • Much harder impact that Earnhardt endured with no head restraints either... This imapct was reduced slowly but painfully.

  • Exactly. All of Earnheart's inertia went right into the wall and into his body. So, in a way, Sadler was pretty lucky his car rolled.

  • O__O The car landed on its hood about 3 times and the driver STILL survived? That's just crazy. But it's a relief. O_O
