@Andrewman961 it was not a medal of honor, george w. bush personally awarded him the highest naval medal that anybody within the navy can recieve, and that was the united states navy cross. Re-read the book dude.

@SniperInTheFlesh Well it was a summary of a Navy report that was a highly censored summary of the actions that fateful day. So the goal was to tell the story using the report as a summary. Since the information was gotten from the navy there will always be inaccuracies. Yeah i respect them they are brothers and i have nothing but respect for them

The first medal of honor to be given to a living man since vietnam was just handed out a few months ago. all other recipients have been KIA. @Andrewman961 own his book, i dont remember it saying he got the medal of honor, i remember it saying Murphy got one, again as i have told many people all info on this video is based on the Navy's report, due to it being a SEAL team i highly doubt we will ever know the enter story, Even his book was censored before release. Now as far as all the reports i have read he won the Navy Cross not the Medal of Honor, as far as i can tell only Murphy won that.

1usmc0; Every single warrior that was onboard the CH-47, a.k.a. Turbine 33 was killed when the RPG hit the Chinook and it crashed down that mountainside. There were NO survivors. I will have to second what piece97 said though, Marcus states in the book that there were probably close to 200 Taliban fighters and that more than half of those were killed... and he was there. When talking about enemy KIA estimates involved fighting a SEAL team, I'm inclined to believe the highest number.

@seairland312 ok again that is the NAVY's description of what happened. Also due to what Marcus was writing about some aspects of his book may have been changed not by his choice but due to govt saying he has to again although freedom of speech is there when your in the military there are somethings you cant write about. So you take it up with the Navy on their report of the incidents. That is where the info came from. And thank you i completely support my brothers in other branches.
