  • hey I am also building a tesla coil. can u send me your schematics to my email satvik.yalmoor@ gmail.com

  • cool!

  • Why is the discharge so slow. Why the rectifiers. The pwm is square wave in one direction not both. I don't understand the diodes... You only have half wave goiong to the motor bike coil already....

  • how did u make the homemade capacitor? And did u measure its capacitance? Many thanks.

  • i like your video because it shows a TC constructed from parts you can easily get ... or homemade stuff

  • wau

  • sir pls send me all diagrams and materials to build this project i want to assemble this project ....................pls

    my e mail id is

    npatelxxx@yahoo.com

    ypxxx_143@yahoo.co.in

  • Dude... listen to your mommy and MAKE YOUR BED! now that you've raised a beard she's not going to clean your room anymore.

  • very good for 6w!!!

  • Good ! More tesla video: "Tesla cold electricity" by HorizonDelta

  • May you please give me the diagram for the driver? I'm new at this!

  • Hi! I've made a ignition coil driver with a 555, it worked fine with a 9v battery, but it burned with the car battery charger. Can i have a schematic of yours please?

  • Comment removed

  • great ! you have e good explain !

  • couldn' t you add the full scheme of your TC??

I m going to build smthng like that!

  • Nice, very nice!

  • When you wire diodes together can you add up the voltage and amps they are rated for?

What i mean is does it just form a better diode?

  • if you tutch the tesla coil woud you die

  • @m5871 no

  • @m5871 if u mean the high voltage side,no. too little currant.

the cap will give a supper painful shock.

  • thing the diodes make the difference cant seem to get decent performance out of an ignition coil anyother way mabe diodes would make the difference

  • Ügyes nem rossz kapsz öt csillt. cső

  • Nice work man!

  • Excellent work - WE need to sort out HV caps that are cheap or make dry ones- salt water caps are too messy and bulky

  • I'd like to have a similar set up, put it all in a box, go find my local 'red light cameras' and see if I can cause some "improvements."

  • Very nice!

What is the frequency of 555s oscilations here? And what about output voltage on ignition coil?

  • Nice coil. Good sparks for only 8 W !

I was thinking of making a little coil as my first tesla-coil now , but it seems people recomend a medium size coil for beginners.

  • i' m not someone who know this kind of things..but i found thois really interesting..

this "tesla" transmit eletricity in the air?

  • they have had the tech for a while now.

one of the country's outside the us has considered wireless transmission of electricity for production ev vehicles. It was in the news, a long while back... but has not taken off.

  • great set up love it :)

  • Very nice my freind!!! I love your long string of diods!

  • nice job.

  • Hi, registrate at ultra-voltage{.}com for infos on Tasers and stunguns circuits!

  • Funny but I tried something VERY similar & got that familiar loud snap.. Run it into Mhz and I'm sure it will be softer....Some of the parts could have come from the same source & I live in the States! However (just my opinion) but a true toroid would have give you performance that would have done the labour some justice (I found that out the hard way also).

  • will an ignition coil run at 27 khz ?

  • yes butt if it will work good is the question -_-"

  • good job...yeah, i that 555 can run up to 1 + mhz!!

  • Nice

Perhaps it would have worked better is the spark rate were not so slow

Did you try full wave rectification

IF you have Freecycle near you you can get lots of microwave ovens free and use the diodes from them

How about driving the ignition coil with a household light dimmer switch?

  • wow ,, dude nice 1

  • Messaged

  • @c0ldcity can i get one of those diagrams too? plz

  • @c0ldcity could you please send me the schematics too. pm me and ill give you my email

  • good work...why is the spark gap so loud? uh...a bit of a tease...neato torpedo look what you can do...and that serves no purpose . if you want to market something like this....simply open source it and knock off the pompousness...if you think your work will be stolen...see a doctor

  • thanks! it's loud because it's under a sheet of cardboard as people kept staring at the spark gap (not good) instead of the coil!

    re the rest... uh... ok!

  • @john29302 this was invented by Nikola Tesla over 100 years ago.... you know the guy that invented the AC you're using to power your computer? No? How about the guy that invented radio and robotics? No one is trying to steal this... get yourself a book and do some reading. You know those papery things you cut yourself on that you don't need a modem to access?

  • @madhacker2000 :)

    I agree

    Tesla has an impressive autobiography

p d f files found linked at Tesla as l i l secret or MattBlytheTheOne channel and think backwards You'll see Electricity from the atmosphere was Tesla's idea J P Morgan Westinghouse did not like that they could not put a meter on it to charge people after You watch how to build t e s l a coil by ct92404 then proceed to Matt Blythe TheOne

  • thanks!! must try and get a better vid of it.

  • i dont knnow why you have A Rectifier diode there the 555 timer driver in not ac its a pulsed dc driver

  • I found the capacitor would charge much better if I rectified the pulsed DC

  • Really nicely done, check my DC TC out!

  • thanks -- yours looks great

  • check my 4 cm tc out

  • That's pretty cool.

  • Thanks!

  • the spark gap sounds wrong...do you have an rf choke in there? your using dc..you could go for a doubler circuit to give a higher voltage it may help i will help if you like check my channel if you have time or join the youtubr tesla coil group or both !!!

  • No RF choke at the moment; the spark gap does sound a bit odd because it was covered with a cardboard shield during the video run. Doesn't seem to stop it quenching but I'm going to get rid of that and use a blower for better quenching. MMC next with double the capacity (and primary retuning to match).

I've watched a lot of your great vids mate, really nice work! I feel for you with your neighbour issues too.

  • Hmm, the cam seems to break - it only shows a couple of secs of streamers and a couple of secs of blankness, although the TC was firing the whole time. See eg 02:00 when you can see the spark gap.. Also, much more impressive in real life :D

  • When I said 8 watts I meant of course 9.6W!
