not sure ... what we are looking for here is a small rod or bar of pig iron, maybe wrought iron ... something of that type ... something that will rust if you look at it cross eyed ... we need to iron to rust because this chemical reaction is yanking the oxygen from the stem leaving the hydrogen behind ... hard to catch the freed hydrogen, but the Germans we doing it in 1912 so cant be that hard to do ...

two torches ... on to get a piece of soft iron rod red hot, the other to boil water similar to what you doing in this video ... restrict the tip so the steam escapes under pressure tea kettle style ... direct the the steam at the red hot iron rod ... ignite the vapors coming off the rod ... wear face shield and gloves ... can be violent reaction ...
