These were the heroin years for Jimmy, weren't they? He did not look good...very sick. He actually looks better today all gray and wrinkled...but healthy.
JP is my alltime favs and many guitar solo is what makes him a legend,I am sorry folks this is not the Jimmy one gets use to.If he is stoned so beit,I sure hope he plays at the opening of the Olypics in London
nice band, the song was recorded originally by Led Zeppelin, there were two unreleased songs in fact called midnight and swang song, Jimmy is actually the best guitar player ever.
I second agree, this is from the ARMS concert in 1983... I had a rare pt 1 on VHS video in the 90's. Jimmy Page, Paul Rodgers, drummer Chris Slade and Bassist Tony Franklin formed in The Firm officially in 1984. They toured and released two albums. From 84-86.
I wish Jimmy Page would some more before he dies. Why won't Eric Clapton invite him to one of his Guitar CrossRoad events? he needs to. Jimmy page was possibly the best guitar player ever. a lot of people think so.
I think he tuned in more different tunings than anyone in history. so many different sounds. so creative. I love the firm, but I think Paul Rogers needs to be with Bad Company, and Page with plant. although they do work well together. Page and Plant are timeless.as is Bad Company...
@thebluesrockers Did you see the DVD, "It might get loud!" Jimmy is retired! Beside you have to play a "Fender" to join the "CrossRoads" event, which by the way are "Tributes" to Eric...Why would Eric even ask Jimmy to participate?
@rha451en Why would he not, one of the greatest, if not greatest guitar players of ALL TIME! Paige Rocks. Paige could play a "fender" and contribute. Why would Eric ask??? Cause Paige is a STAR!
@rha451en The amount of Gibson players at the Crossroads events is quite high. BB King plays a Fender? Since when? Warren and Derek are Gibson guys and were there(Derek @ more then one).. Page not playing a Fender? your joking right?Page has been playing Strats and Tele's as long as he's been playing Dano's and Gibson's. Why wouldn't Eric invite him? Heck, its possible that without Jimmy passing on the first chance to join the Yardbirds we might not have gotton to ever hear Eric.
Damn,Jimmy looks scary here.He looks much better in some later The Firm performances.I guess,he cleaned up,while he was in The Firm. For sick guy,he plays like f#$@ genius. These guys are from different planet.
Just for the record, this isn't The Firm. This is actually from one of the ARMS benefit concerts, which predated The Firm. If you watch carefully, you can see Chris Stainton on keyboards and Simon Phillips on drums. I think that's Andy Fairweather Low playing rhythm guitar. Not sure who the bassist is though.
I bloody loved this - why don't Jimmy & Paul, both at loose ends at the moment, put this band back together? - This time around a few more peeps might take notice?

My favorite song by The Firm.. Their only release was AWESOME if you like Paul Rogers this is a must have
bkelly67 3 months ago
@bkelly67 First, this is not The Firm. Second, The Firm made two full official albums, four singles and two videos. Third, it's Rodgers, not Rogers.

Clapton was neutered back in the mid 70s. Page has always been better and he still knows how to rock.

I love jp, but i do believe that Paul rodgers has the greatest voice in most rock catalogs.

Zep's "Swan Song" from year 1974. Never ended to "Physical Graffiti". Would like to hear how Plant has sung this piece.
And Joe Perry ??? he's got nothing to with Jimmy Page. He is one of the average Page-followers, and hopeless junkie.

@Kohntarkosz
Right - Page was working on this song for Zep, but JB's death ended that.
During the Arms Concert Page was super high - he face/mouth shows it.
I don't think Tony Franklin was the bassist.
This is actually a great composition by Page. I heard the chords are the same as Kashmir - only played differently.

@Kohntarkosz your so right, for the record this event is what brought jimmy and paul to create THE FIRM.

This is okay stuff. Not timeless, but not at all like the rock critics slagged it. Thanks for posting.
