  • I find this incredibly moving and I have no idea why. It's wonderful!

  • The opening to this piece is so funny!!! Classic.

  • creepy!

  • MERAVIGLIOSO!!! thanks a lot for the interpretation!!!

  • which one is sian phillips?

  • A real unique rare genius!!!

  • that was beautiful and well thought out. a gorgeous interpretation of Beckett that makes sadness swell in your chest like air.

  • I expected it to be more like a bitching fest rather then this slow strange thing I see before me. Beckette had many a strange idea so he did.

  • nao entendi nada mesmo, kkkkk

  • the characters are condemmed in purgatory and are based on people Beckett new as a child and I think its about wanting romantic love in marriage that never materialised

  • I think this is a kinda boring interpretation. There are so many interesting ways, that this just seems as if they're saying the lines with nothing behind it.

  • this is exactly how Beckett wanted it to be performed. its up to the audience to make their own assumptions.

  • I suppose, I just think that, from an acting perspective (and inexperienced playwriting) that, I would like to add something to the characters. When we studied Beckett in Drama, we added stories behind the characters, which was interesting. It's not necessarily how it should be performed, but I just think that the way these people did it made the play rather empty, when it's actually quite deep.

  • I understand. I also act and write. In a Dada and theatre of the absurd class that i took this summer we also added our own little story behind it, altering our interpretation of the piece. i still like to preserve Beckett as is, just for respect. besides.. Play is so much cooler. lol

  • I agree Play is cooler. What was your interpretation of come and go if u dont mind me asking thoe? I dont care if its silly

  • We basically broke it down to how society is cruel. We all are putting up this sort of front as though we're all friends, but as soon as one turns their back, we aren't so civil anymore. there are others we came up with, but that one makes more sense to me. lol. :]

  • @TinyRedUmbrellas Ah, yes, but the purpose IS to make the play rather empty. Absurdists like Becket relied on language emptied of formal meaning and subdued imagery to present a dramatic metaphor of an absurd universe. Thus Beckett introduced a whole new style to the stage, that of no recognizable plots, mechanical behavior, and puppet-like characters. I think these women pull that off in spades.

  • @HerSilentSymphony I don't agree that the language is emptied of formal meaning. It is replete with formal meaning. I don't agree that the action is absurd. I don't agree that there is no recognizable plot. I don't agree that the women are exhibiting puppet-like or mechanical behavior.

  • @dapokey I remember doing this for a drama class. My group did something similar to this, whereas another did it as a bunch of stoners who couldn't stop laughing. I loved the ambiguity.

  • Lol! vise-prisible... This is not a pointless as it may seem. This play is about three women who used to play together in the playground. They used to be the best of friends and even had a special way of holding hands. However, gradually the three girls grew and as they grew the girls started to separate, and even getting "rings" wedding rings. It's an akward reunion since they have not kept in contact. However, the women meet again and exchange stories and hold hands again just as they used to.

  • now that i see it the way you explained it , it seems sooo much more sencible and i get it

  • Samuel Beckett is the greatest writer of all times. Thank you for sharing this extraordinary work.
