cheong dumb fuck..why go all in and risk your ass for 90 million when they can both kill the small stack with few hands? now the dude with the pathetic 20 something million just sits and waits until everyone is gone from the table...and gets a huge boost in his prize money...so dumb by cheong
@DeathBySlushPuppy what the fuck does it has to do with me? cheong made a retarded movie by risking himself ..small stack just sits and waits and wins a shitload of more prize money..and THAT IS DUMB
you see man, when you do something smart and then something stupid , the stupid thing you did IS STILL STUPID
@CactusAss33 exactly! i dont know how someone as good as cheong would commit so much with that hand, he had time to wait for a better spot but no, this seems to happen alot with the pros in the later stages of tournies and i dont understand it
I guess Cheong play it 2 level higher then Duhamel could think. If Cheong was not leveling that high, he might won it. I think Grinder A8s call and 33 shove was alot more terrible. Unlucky Joe, better run next time.
when I watched the live feed of the final table, duhamel says he meant to raise to 27 million on the hand with queens. cheong immediately says he would have mucked if that were the case. he shipped because he though duhamel was capable of folding 1/4 of his stack. 27 million woulda been more of a committment
I thing it got a little personal between Cheong and Duhamel at 08:57. Duhamel gets very agressive reraising him all the time. He should by then know that his ace was small. Duhamel could more likely have AK, AQ, AJ af course as we can se a pocket pair. Cheong was tilting imo because Duhamel made a veery risky call with that AK he had earlier. Cheong could of had a lot of cards that would have beaten Duhamel. Fascinating play by Cheong... Very agressive.
Cheong was running over Duhamel When it was 3-handed that's why you saw Cheong retaking the lead a few times bc he kept 3 and 4 betting Duhamel heads up.
But Duhamel said that he raised that amount bc he knew it was just enough to get Cheong to take the bait and go all-in. He used his image of being weak to full advantage on that monster QQ hand.
A lot skipped in this video. Cheung , at 97m loses 30m in bluff at start, but next time we look hes back up to 95 million. And after the all in, cheung is left with 6 million, yet the following hand he is all in for a total sized pot of 35 mil
It's annoying when Cheong just went from 97mil to 67mil and Duhamel went from 93mil to 123mil and 1 shot later they show Cheong 95mil, Duhamel 88mil....They should show every hand in the final table.
Bad play by Cheong, but he is leaps and bounds better than Duhamel. It's a shame his mistake was for so much at such a pivotal moment, whereas Duhamel's 10-20 horrendous decisions didn't destroy him. That's poker.
In my view, Duhamel was soooooo lucky to win that big pot against Cheong: when I play poker on Pokerstars and I'm all in with QQ vs A7, A6, A5, A3 or A2, there is ALWAYS an A on flop..... always.....
Or the Vilain flop a straight, or trips or flush backdoor, or quad.....
@magicolivier That always happens to me,when i call someone with QQ and he's got an Ace he catch an ace on flop or turn...and when i go all-in with AK or AQ i loss to 55 or 44....
I'd argue Candio's hand had more strength. Not an ace but Cheong had A3, he would need an inside card to hit a straight. Candio had KQ which could hit a straight on either side. To the mathematical side, Candio had the better hand.
man i wish people at wsop actually respect 4 bets at the final table. did duhamel think Q was the highest card in the deck? i wish cheong would've actually had AA or KK would've crushed duhamel's dreams.
Ahah... lets play tomorrow my FTP name is zeplac1553 =]

Cheong u deserved it lolololololol too agressive i think atackin the second BS WTF were u thinking??????????? XDDDD YOU HAD TO PUSH RCNR!!!!!!!!!! NOT DUHAMEL
@lupomx u r wrong Duhamel lost 46% of his stack at this final table he had a rough time just like the others n the only one who read well cheong's moves
Jeez how do you stack off all those chips with a short stack behind.. Sure he had good fold equity.. well against any other player but Duhamell seemed to never want to fold hands when he showed interest.. Sure it was "just over one million" from 3rd to 2nd but if the short stack goes out he could have a good shot at winning $9m.. No way in hell I would risk that kind of money.. Don't really understand that play.
@Pushonthebutton Oh definately a good play with a short stack behind you can put massive amount of pressure on a guy who has a stack equal to yours its just that after the 5 bet you can't really shove there.. You have to put the guy on JJ+.. if you fold there you still have a lot of play left.. and with the short stack knocked out you can still have a shot at winning the HU
I hate that we don't see anything but the big pots. Because Cheong (who I think played amazingly during this main event) definitely didn't 6-bet based on the value of A7o, but more likely based on the table dynamics .. But all we get to see is him 6-bet shoving A7o into QQ and pretty much a blow up ..
However, with that kind of variance between 1st, 2nd and 3rd I prob woulda just called and played my weak ace post ..
i completely understand that cheong is an uber aggressive player and that is what makes him a great player but there is a difference between aggression and stupidity. He will regret that decision for the rest of his life
Say what you want about the wisdom and merits of shoving with A7o in a spot like that, Cheong must have balls the size of watermelons to do it. Duhamel had been raise-folding all game, and Cheong had been running him over until that. The difference in equity between 3rd and 1st is almost $5m, so that's a $5m bluff he just threw down there, and I don't think anything weaker than QQ could have called.
@MafiaWars23 Thanks man, but I've been playing this game for 12 years and I know what hands are strong and what ones aren't. Here's a concept which you and most of the 'experts' on youtube aren't probably aren't familiar with. Playing your opponent instead of your cards. That's how good players win tournaments in the later stages, and it's what Cheong is attempting to do. There's a short stack hanging on, a massive jump in prize money, and in this spot, only 3-4 hands that can call a 6-bet.
@HuuKiwi...Look Im not disrespecting Cheong he's a great player who made a mistake...He had way too many chips to be screwing around with Ace 7 offsuit bro even headsup...This was a bad play...easy for me to say i know...but its a bad play. I never claimed to be an expert but if he was playing "the Person" he should have known that Duhamel usually takes one stab at the pot and then lets it go. 5 BETS ALWAYS MEANS AA, KK, or QQ...making Durr raises was dumb here. no disrespect to Cheong
@HuuKiwi omg...thank god! you are like...one of the few people on youtube who actually understands poker. You are absolutely right :) Cheong's play was really gutsy and legendary. Cheong knew that Duhamel would fold any hand weaker than QQ (even AK) cuz he still has 80% of his chips behind. Duhamel is probably the only player capable of 5-bet folding there. Most of these idiots who criticize cheong probably plays 0.5/1 dollar online
@HuuKiwi did u not watch duhummel at the final table he could of gone with loadsa hands there although u r right about the equity u need aces or kings 4 it to b mathmaticaly correct
