  • I liked the movie so much, maybe i woudn't have if i haven't played the rpg first

  • @ 4:21 you was a little embarrassed? Really?

  • lol Manos Hands of Fate.

  • I think we can admit one thing. Beast of Yucca Flats was worst than Manos.

  • I wonder if there is an alternate dimension were Manos is like the best film ever made? That would be awesome!

  • With a new script by an experienced writer and decent production value behind a good director.... a Manos remake might not be that bad. It's actually not a terrible story.

  • I am disappointed they didn't talk more about Torgo

  • I like how they pronounce it "MAAN-os" instead of "Man-os" like Joel did on MST3K.

    Adds a tinge of pretention.

  • Debbie (Jackie Neyman) has an interview with some youtube guy if you search her name you will see "El Supercast Episode 39" she says that she is going to be doing a sequel where she gets her revenge and her father is going to play the Master again. Not many hits so publicity among Manos freaks yet. She also mentions a website called "Torgo Lives" and if you go there, the sequal is called "Manos: The Search for Valley Lodge", that will have also in it a WWE Diva in it, hmmmm

  • While I'm sad to hear they could only find one person from the film, we sure diod luck out that it was Bernie! That guy is hilarious! Thanks Bernie for a great laugh, and thank you for posting it so I could laugh till I cried!

  • "We were in deep doo doo right away"

  • "it's like an ugly dog. You've got to love it."

A really enjoyable little documentary. I have to say the advertisers didn't do themselves any favors by interrupting people in mid-sentence that way. If I do remember them, it will be with anger in my heart.

  • What's with these fucking commercials in the middle of the damn video?

  • Diane Mehree is the most beautiful woman i have seen in my life. Too bad this movie destroyed her career. She would have been a very beautiful actress :(

  • @Jeri321 I agree, she was gorgeous. Too bad there aren't any good pics of her online.

  • Obviously the vandals of texas had no idea that that house was the set for Manos the hands of fate. If they did, they would've written some different stuff.

  • @spcmn77 I only heard the exchange in reference to both actors were working on Spartacus directed by Stanley Kubrick. There was also a clash between Kirk Douglas and Kubrick regarding writing credit which eventually led to the end of the Hollywood Blacklist.

  • Aw... I saw the MST3K version. It mainly seems to suffer from bad music, bad voiceovers, snippety and irritated actors, and scenes taking way too long. It's bad, and some of it's going to be bad forever. But a good editor, dub cast, and some good, scary music might turn "Manos" from a horribly bad movie into a half-decent horror flick.

  • I'm actually surprised Manos didn't make the AVGN's Monster Madness Segment this year

  • @snakes3425 Me too, especially since he seems to know about MST3K. Maybe he's saving it or else he doesn't want to do it because it's too well known.

  • The ending theme seems to take new meaning knowing that these places are in shambles

  • So... which is worse: Making the worst film ever made, *paying* to see the worst film ever made... or helping to create the worst film ever made and considering it your 'glory days'?

  • @JoeStracke At least they went out and did something....I don't think Bernie Rosenblum sees this as his "glory days." i think he sees it as that goofy thing he did back in 1966 that has made him semi-famous after years of forgetting about it.

  • Everyone seems to mention Plan 9 From Outer Space when talking about bad movies. Plan 9 is Spartacus compared to Manos.

  • @Hallinilla9 Who do I have to screw to get off this shoot? -Tony Curtis

If you find out, let me know. -Jean Simmons

  • @Hallinilla9 And both of those are The Godfather Part II compared to Monster A GoGo

  • First MST3K I watched... Oh my! I think everybody should see this movie in both versions actually though I be nice.. sure first the MST3K version so the hurt is less. Slightly!

    What a hack job..

  • this movie actually had a twist that i liked haha

  • @spcmn77

Added another version to the SENDSPACE version linked on TINYURL

I filtered out the hiss, but it was lacking the "haunting" factor with the hiss. Added in a slight room dynamic variation, a slight echo, and a very slight reverb.

The less haunting version with just the hiss removed is here.

  • @spcmn77

Recorded this audio off a YOUTUBE video of the song and my computer speaker mix using GOLDWAVE.

The MP3 I recorded is there to enjoy. It is a great tune that deserves more recognition for the artistic merit.

  • Apparently, all of ten film students showed up for the screening of this film at UTEP.

Nevertheless, yes, there is an audience for this, the mother of all turkeys. Helluva documentary, thanks for uploading it.

P.S. I would still watch "Manos" before "G.I. Joe" or "Transformers 2."

  • @gpwerner True true....no end of Bad Movies today either. But hey..we've got Torgo!

  • @ulfhirtha "I'll always have Torgo." :)

  • Let's hoist a glass of beer for the film students. While the film scholars make sure we remember and appreciate the gold nuggets of bygone eras, the film students make sure we remember and appreciate those bits of pyrite as well!

  • Well done, A fine upload indeed.

  • I personally very much love the closing song of Manos called "Forgetting You".

Vocal by "Manos" star Diane Mahree.

    It is beautiful and haunting.

  • Comment removed

  • @Matrix29bear Wait...Diana Mahree really sang that? That's incredible!

  • The Capri Theater! By the time I was old enough to know of this theater in the late 70's, it was quite rundown in a rundown part of downtown El Paso. They showed cheesy second run films, and Godzilla and Bruce Lee flicks. My sisters worked in the concession stand over the years there, by the time I was old enough to take my turn to work there they closed it down.

  • Why not rebuild the place and make a new manos?

  • Actually, according to his wife, Harold Warren was talking about doing a sequel because of the notoriety that the movie had gained from MST3K. He then died before having the chance to make it.

Apparently, Warren still felt that the movie was actually good.

  • @mambo09 How can you make a sequel to the Mona Lisa of bad movies.

  • @mambo09 'Cause life is too short.

  • Otherwise good documetary, but not at all about that hideous soundtrack.

40% of the awfullnes of Manos comes from the music.

  • Someone somewhere should make the planned but never realized Torgo sequel.

  • @valjean76 Torgo Lives!!

  • That was a slice of Americana right there.

  • long live bad movies

  • makes me sad that the sets are all desecrated like that

  • im just amazed its still standing

  • @Jenga666 I'm shocked it's still standing. If I lived closer I'd definitely go check it out before it's gone.

  • @Blackson187 I heard it had a fire a few years ago :(

  • @Jenga666 I know, right? Even though this is unarguably one of the worst films to have ever been produced (if not THE worst) it's heart-wrenching to think that those set pieces and locations are nothing more than dilapidated, graffiti-covered relics that nobody pays any attention to now.

  • Thanks so much for posting this! I am so glad I got to see it!

  • We all need to give these guys a great big hug ^__^

  • This is sweet! I'm glad they paid tribute to the people who truly "served" in this terrible film. ^__^

  • I know it was Robin Stone, the love machine....but I actually liked the music in Manos. Anyone else?

  • little debby has a facebook profile

  • Just hearing the camera guy say "This is the beginning of this...PLEASE god don't let it be this bad."

Made this doc worth it. That was pure awesome.

This also confirms my belief that Manos should be preserved in infamy as truly "The Worst Movie of All Time" :D

  • That guy needs to THE TECH BEAT WINDOWS SERVER 2008 smoke more cigarettes.

    The end?

  • Dude; filterless Camels. Makes my chest hurt just watching this guy suck those things down....

  • I like this one, I mean how many times do you get the story behind a really really really terrible movie?

  • I really do wish this documentary was a longer. It's too bad that it seems like a lot of the stuff about Manos is kind of lost in time and a lot of the people associated with the movie are gone and all that. Despite the fact that it is a terrible movie, you kind of want to know a lot about it, or at least I do. This was only like a small taste, just enough to fill a tiny bit of that wonder about the movie.

In either case, it was a good documentary. Just wish there was more.

  • I wish it was longer too. I wish they'd mention some more of the other tidbits of info that I've heard about it: like they couldn't record sound on set so everything was dubbed later by only a few people. And about all the bugs attracted to the lights while filming at night. And how Torgo was supposed to be a semi-menacing satyr.

  • omfg y would anyone want to watch manos without mst3k?

  • I watched without mst3k.

  • I'm glad I finally got to see the documentary of this thing, I wish someone would go a little more in depth about John Reynolds, since his story seems so tragicly interesting. I keep looking on the Torgo sites. Thanks for posting this!

  • Man,those ads are fucking annoying.

  • Not all of the folks involved are lost. Diane Mahree (Margaret) lives near Telluride and is a friend of my second-cousin. My wife and I crashed with her when we attended the festival one year. She's pretty cool.

  • I thought she committed suicide decades ago.

  • @Catmatt4KSU Is she still as beautiful now as she was then?

  • I'm so glad to find this here! I heard about the documentary, and since I'm one of those "unhinged" fans of Manos/Mst3K, naturally I was intrigued. Great job! I'm so glad the history of the making has been immortalized as well.

Despite the many offerings in the MST3K ouvre, Manos still stands out as the worst of the very worst. I LOVE the characters. I love the film. It's one I return to watch. It's a winner at being a loser!

    THANKS for posting!!!!

    The End? Always wonder...

  • I know this is really about the movie itself but they RUSH through the Mystery Science Theater 3000 connection. If not for that show this movie would have had maybe only 5% of the recognition it got.

  • Who is the guy who apparently was in the cast or crew and who appears to have done a lot of smoking and drinking since "Manos" was made?

  • That's Bernie Rosenblum, who played the guy making out in the car.

  • "Hands:The Hands of Fate" The haunting Torgo Theme. I love what Joel and the bots did for this stinker of a movie

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I've been DYING to see this documentary!

  • I didn't know this existed. I was looking on IMDB to see if R Lee Ermy was in Appocolypse Now (he was) and I found a page called "Hotel Torgo"... I was like could it be? And it was! and then I came here to watch it!

MTHOF was one of the better MST3K movies. Its right up there with Cave Dwellers and the Pod People, a real classic! The music in MTHOF was wonderful! A horrible movie? No. A beautifuly bad movie that you'll want to watch again and again? Yes.

  • the only way that movie is bareable is if your making fun of it though. Or you zonked..and making fun of it.

  • Spike!

  • Did the Manos production team also work on the Windows Server ads? Those are some pretty ineffective ads.

  • LOL, yeah- And of course, they did those old Taster's Choice commercials, too. ;)

  • Thanks for posting this. I watched all three parts.

It's really amazing some of the "story behind the story" that documentaries like this one present.

  • The sound track was amazing! The Torgo theme song is the frikken bomb! But yes, I would have liked to have heard about how they came up with the amazing music. I would also like to have heard more about what became of the master and why torgo shot himself(???)

  • Hotel Torgo has a new blog with updates and photos from the making of the film with manos cast member Bernie Rosenblum and related articles and reviews!

I cannot paste a direct link here but you can read the Hotel Torgo blog at hoteltorgo . blogspot . com

  • nice
