Human brain cannot conceive everything. For instance, time and space has no starting point, middle point and end point a phenomina that a human brain can never conceive. This is a fact. The existence of 7 colours and 7 musical notes is more than enough for me to beleive in a beatiful mind behind these whole creations. You dry hearts can never understand it. It is not your fault.
I like your intelligent argument which I as a freshman in high school see as completely reasonable and completely free of logical fallacies such as your lack of understanding for basic quantum physics. (read in sarcastic voice)
Oh no, another scientific explanation of why God doesn't exist, how common. This doesn't prove a thing except that you thoroughly read your science book. The proof is in the 2000 year old book that is relevant to events that are happening today. You'll never be able to prove that my God doesn't exist but there is proof that he did exist.
Alot of people are brainwashed by satan and demons into believeing that God isn't real. People just have questions and they don't take time to fully read the bible w/o asking so many freaking questions. the most high DOES exist.
BTW: There are no "Atheists" in the world, and that's a FACT. Everybody calling him/herself an atheist has an idea of "God" in mind, no matter what conclusion they draw out of that idea.
belief that a god doesn't exist by any definition or just one particular definition? what do you think that it is particularly that causes one to declare the nonexistence of something in such a vast universe?
It's simple. Some people require a form of proof (or evidence) for an hypothesis before they believe it. As you know; there isn't any proof for the existence of God, therefore; Some people don't believe in the existence of God.
it's all about semantics I GUESS. I would suspect that an atheist being someone who lacks beliefs in deities, would be someone who has never really given the concept any thought. Those who call themselves atheists, are usually anti-theists (those who oppose belief in deities) and that seems worlds from lacking belief in deities to me. do you get what I'm saying?
but by definition it does get a bit shaky to say the least. why does someone who lacks belief in deities, feel so strongly that everyone should? it seems a bit of a social maneuver of sorts. It seems less about whether such a being exists, and more to do with...."don't tell me how I'm supposed to live based off of your unproven deity"
It is a social matter. Some atheists feel that because there are people choosing to believe things that aren't proven (a.k.a. possible untrue) bad shit happens to the society. IQ drops, evolution can't be teached in schools, wars are fought over what's true and what's not (while it is allready known what is true and not true)...
I can understand why most atheists tend to be anti-theists...
I can understand why we should keep church and state separate, but why someone should concern themselves over what people believe when it comes to the origin of our world, baffles me. So much emotion tied up in this from both directions, freedom of thought supersedes all!!
i've really had enough of this stupid "religions cause war" argument. land grabs and resource pillaging are a necessary and unavoidable dilemma that every empire in history has/will face. while this or that religion may have been used to get support for this or that conflict, the conflict themselves would have happened regardless, and undoubtedly some other propaganda would have come about to ensure public support.
actually he thinks that he already has. I starts with the simultaneous infinities cannot exist....but it doesn't take much of a thinker to realize that infinity is probably a meaningless term, especially when it comes to personality attributes, declarations of perfection, and maybe even all knowing, especially when paradoxes are proposed.
The religious have done more damage to the idea of god than any other group has, including the atheists... by assigning attributes beyond their ability to assign.
u say in ur video that u destroyed the theory based on "the logic of the creator", but is that dhorkphalus guy the real creator of the theory? when i didn't understand his problem with infinities, a quick google search turned up some science fiction writer's top ten reasons their cant be god list. i think that dude was just parroting the ideas of this science fiction writer, explaining his inability to defend those ideas. on a side note, one of the reasons was a omniscience vs free will thing
I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but as you say...differing versions of this argument have been circulating for a long, long time.. I'm pretty sure that CS Lewis likely dismantled a version of this argument in the mid 20th century.
Hmmm, does a origin of this observable universe need to be conscious of existing? I don't see how it should. The only way it would is if it got a virgin pregnant and that product of conception had a self proclamation and to no other, yet we all have to refer as a long ago event should be taken seriously on someone else's past accounts? If this ALL involves energy, then why don't we all feel it? Why does it need to be so arbitrary to feel? Why is faith the energies catalyst? seems vague atthat pt
I'm not sure that we have put our fingers on exactly what is needed. I certainly could be that this universe needs nothing more than energy to cause it, though I suspect that it needs more....but this is more of a response to someone who has claimed the factual nonexistence of god, and a realization that he just doesn't get the job done. Not saying that the universe has a conscious creator, but that it could by his own theory, and that god doesn't have a problem with the infinite regress hurdle
anything that avoid infinite regress, also avoids the being a link in the chain of cause and effect....his argument that a god consciousness somehow requires a previous cause, but the very energy that causes our universe doe not, just doesn't hold water.

Another thing I thought was funny about dhorpatan's video was that he was trying use natural laws to prove that something supernatural doesn't exist.

I see green sentence lines when I look away after reading this. Good points. Good logic deconstruction for Dhorpatan's video.

an atheist is someone who doesn't believe that a god exists, how is that impossible?

no proof? of course there isn't
no evidence that such could exist?
very debatable
no reason to believe that such exists....very subjective indeed

I am agnostic so you don't have to convince me. I'm just saying that there ARE such things as atheists... :S

Yes there is as much anti-theism among atheists as anti-atheism among theists.
But there surely are atheists...

Then they should be honest enough to call themselves "anti-christian", because that's what they do: they oppose christianity (and I applaud that).

As I said: they have a basic idea of what the word "God" refers to. The rest (the conclusion they draw) is toying around with thoughts.

Does this Dhorpatan really intend to "disprove" god with this stuff?
