Yeah the Viper should have hung in there more but with the SRT Vipers they have taller 4ths and 5th which is why the 55 started to pull. Vipers need another 50+ hp over stock to get a good pull through 4th and onto 5th. Which in turn is why turbo built Vipers are nasty, nothing like 1100+ HP to help you row through the gear... ;)

@chrism137 the 2012 C6 ZO6 and ZR1's are about to get a bad hit as well with 5th and 6th gears so these higher speed races will be lame to watch. Merc's have always had pretty aggressive gearing though, especially their new 7 spds. People don't really buy Mercs for mpg, vettes are no different it just helps GM sell them easier I think. They need to make a 7 speed DCT though, it'd make them fast on a whole different level.

@extracredit100 actually..the earlier srt10 models (maybe like this one).. only had 500hp and 525 lb ft torque for the convertible.. coupe had 510hp and 535 lb ft torque.. they gott 600hp in 2008 and even then torque was only 560 lb ft stock. and just so you dont come bashing me bout how i love european cars or anything.. i AM a viper fan thats why i make sure i know my facts about them. but i give credit where its due and 03+ e55 amg's had 0-60 around the same time as a early model srt-10

@extracredit100 now had this been a later model viper, even with a bad driver the viper woulda pulled like crazy cause the weight is less and the power woulda been a LOT more so it  woulda been a hands down win for the viper unless the e55 amg owner let renntech or brabus or someone massage that engine in the benz a bit.

lol i got a Mercedes Benz CL55 AMG Supercharged/TwinTurbo engine.. my dad had it swooped up so it can hit 0-60 in 2.7-3.2 seconds.. its fast we versed the Z06 Corvette, Charger, Challenger, 2010 Camaro, Dodge Viper, GT Mustang, Nissan iforgot what kind but it had a z at the end and the Lambo gallardo.. and more nd i won all of them with 2 seconds or more.. the 206 was quick.. probably the closest.. nd i do street races.. once the light turns green im gone lol.. i love this car..

My 03 srt10 easily pulled away fom my friends 440 rwhp E55 amg..

I had roller rockers/KN filters and he had some kind of intake porting thats in the expensive mercedes supercar...

But I was 460 rwhp and he was 440 rwhp..But I mean I really pulled away..At the strip he hit 111 mph and I hit 118 mph ( I know slow track right)..

If your 480 rwhp and he's a stock 440 rwhp...I dont get how you passed him so easily?
