I've been to Mexico for six weeks and as I watched the armies with powerful guns in their hands on the streets in public I wondered one thing, "Who in the hell are they going to shoot with those things?" One shot would kill like forty civilians.
And, yes, Mexico is a very corrupt country. As an American, I know America has much corruption, but I wouldn't say as much as Mexico. We don't have military and cops patrolling most of our streets like your country.

Sure, we have police in some neighborhoods (usually upper class white neighborhoods) who watch for criminal activity; however, in Mexico the police and military walk around with guns in the public -- I have yet to see anywhere in America where police and military walk in gear with guns drawn in the public.
