  • Ahem..I stand corrected, Richeray. ;)

  • Buddy is simply an awesome, tasteful, tonacious, nailin' it to the floor with great licks all the way down the road guitarist.

Buddy, I love it. It is the BEST.

  • Holy Cow! Buddy plays with Soul and achieves fantastic tone with his Tele & Carmen Ghia.

  • He does, but it's my Tele and Carmen Ghia! LOL

  • @LarryRickenbacker And the Analog King of Tone pedal!

  • can one even BE a "Blues Master'? lol

  • killer tone! great band too!

  • I've just become aware of Buddy . . . . and I'm glad I did.

  • Nice one, thanks

  • WOW!

  • Buddy really does have it all...a great sense of melody, great touch dynamics, great phrasing, and killer tone. A modern blues master.

  • I saw these guys at a blues 'n' brews thing in Charlottesville VA a few years back. He was playing a strat through a Marshall bluesbreaker amp. He tore it up pretty good. He plays kinda like Gatton with an SRV feel. Warren Haynes is about the only thing close.

  • That must have been quite awhile ago. Buddy has been playing Dr. Z amps for a long time now.

  • Wow! What a voice, and what guitar playing, great feel and tone.

  • damn. KoT sounds awesome

  • Buddy is such a nice guy and tasteful player - and can sing a bit too. He is one of those guys who knows when to back off and leave some space when needs be...

Z amps are becoming very popular in the UK now. I got me one recently (a Z-28 combo). Simple monster tone machine....

  • One of my favourite Freddie King tracks. Buddy pays homage and plays like a trooper. What a voice and what a tone!

Buddy, Bonamassa and Matt Schofield are the future of Blues.

  • he sounds alot like arlen roth

  • Buddy is one of the greatest guitarists in his field today.

It's about the melody and tone and he has it all. Coupled with a superb vocal ability, Buddy has to be my favourite artist at the moment.

  • too right. I just got back from seeing/hearing Buddy rock The Half Brick in Worthing, East Sussex. Fabulous! Amazing player with a tremendous voice. The drummer(Darby Ford) was incredible too! AS an added bonus we were treated to an appearence from local hero Gary Moore. In my opinion he was too loud most of the time but shone occasionally. Hope we get to see Buddy round these parts again soon though....

  • Always great stuff from Buddy Whittington. Listening to Buddy recently is the reason why I bought (another) Carmen Ghia amp to gig with.

  • wow, he sings very well........

  • I agree Buddy has a great voice and great guitar tone too! Who says teles are just for country music? Not me...

  • BW & Carmen Ghia's ROCK!

The Ghia sounds so percussive in this clip when Buddy bears down on it. Great stuff!

  • Lord have mercy...Buddy's voice makes a pleasant change from Mayall's.(Thank God for that!) He should sing more. Fabulous guitar player also obviously.

  • sweat whittington is my family name
