cheers... im sure my band wouldnt turn down opening for nin, hah! depends what your budget is for the mic.. i wouldnt really reccomend direct to laptop mics for great quality (but i guess it depends what you mean by good quality eh). in my opinion, though its more expensive than buying a USB mic, i'd say get an audio interface with some mic preamps on it (like presonus firebox) and buy a mic like the sm-57, (standard guitar amp mic) or if you have a bit more $ an md421. out of characters now :(
